Ginny-Enjoy your day at home with DHRichard, glad he doesn't have to drive anywhere.

Did you try the saline?  It helped Keith last year.

I did, Jane, and feel much better today.

I've got to do laundry today or tomorrow, but I'm just not feeling up to it.

Maybe I'll go out and buy new underwear instead.  :)

Fred, the new version of Anne Frank does not require the cast to stay on stage during the intermission, but it does recommend it.

TCB - Thanks, that makes more sense, I guess.   I wonder if some of the audience will just stay in their seats watching the actors during the intermission.

That probably makes the duration of the play unnecessarily tough on the actors.

Back from the first jog in a week.  Man - it wasn't that difficult, thank goodness, but boy it's like using muscles for the first time.  I have to get back into my regular routine and lose this eight to ten pounds I've put back on over the holidays.

Glad to hear S&V went well!  Now, don't rest on your Laurels (and Hardys), don't you have some video to edit?

The skies are bright blue - there's a chill in the air, but it's going away and it will probably end up a nice Spring-like day.

Miss Patti, go back to your post, click "modify" and put your Seuss choices AFTER the final quote brackets.

I do not smoke and being around smokers makes me nauseous. I wuold be happy if smoking was banned, but it would not work, just as prohibition did not work.

I did a play where just I was required to stay onstage and do daily activities preshow and during intermission...at one point I got so annoyed at the amount of talking in the audience I open an imaginary window and told them to keep it down, I was trying to read. They loved it (and kept on talking). It was a great concentration excersise for me.

Never smoked, but grew up in a house where both my folks smoked. I can be around smokers, but I don't enjoy it. The ban was one of the greatest things to happen since I've been in NY. Used to be if you went to any bar for even a minute you would come out reeking of cigs.

Glad to hear S&V went well!  Now, don't rest on your Laurels (and Hardys), don't you have some video to edit?

I got the tapes last Friday but post houses were closed Monday for MLK and then I left Tuesday AM for NY/Boston and got back at midnight on Friday night!

BUT---I am starting to load it Tuesday night after my session. (Tomorrow night we're hosting a forum about preserving the Strand, the art deco theatre I mentioned a few weeks ago.) It will take about 8 hours to load and I have sessions every day this week so I will do the loading at night. Since it's on BETA and mini DV I had to find another post house instead of the place where I planned on editing (which does not have a mini-DV deck.) And because the time code on mini DV is often iffy if not non-existant, I need to be able to load at full resolution because I may not be able to upres the DV if the time code isn't reliable, so finding a place with that much drive space who would let me work for free required a few calls!

I'm looking forward to seeing the show, and will give you a call after I have the material loaded and know what questions to ask. If I'm lucky, the 3 BETA cameras' tapes will have matching time code, and will have the board feed!

It's a cold, rainy, miserable day here...in other words, a perfect day to go to the laundromat!

I smoked for about twenty-five years, and quitting was one of the hardest things I have ever done.  I have never backslid (backslided?) at all, but that may be tested when Mr. Van Daan has to light up on stage.

I went to see the play COMEDIANS off-Broadway a while back and there was so much smoking onstage that, even though I was in the seventh row, I reeked of smoke by the time the play was over.  Skip asked me if I'd been around smokers, and it said clearly in the program that there was a lot of smoking in the play so I could prove where I was  :) :) but they never said anything about it when I bought my ticket, that i would be taking so much of the "smoke" smell home with me in my clothing.
