Playbill has an article on the MARY POPPINS set breakdown.

http://www.playbill.com/news/article/103010.html

Between your MARY POPPINS "breakdown" and Playbill's MARY POPPINS  "grinds to a halt" there must be fodder for some anticipated new shows.

Today, I was not at work. :D I was at my old house putting primer on closet doors and cutting shelves and dowels so that they would fit in the closets whose doors have now been primed.  This weekend, we'll put up the shelves and dowels in the closets and paint the doors of the closets and then all the closets will be done!  And the closets will never have to be mentioned again! ;)

After dealing with closets and primer paint that made me noxious, I went to a local production of A Chorus Line.  The only other live stage version that I've seen was a high school production that was not very good.  This production was a lot better, but still it wasn't fabulous.  They weren't wonderful dancers, but they were good...not great, but good.  The singing was better, but still, not incredible, but very good.  The acting was very good, except for Zack.  He was a little too...I don't know...much, I guess.  And the Cassie was the shortest person in the cast.  Several inches shorter than the Connie who is supposed to be four-foot-ten. ::)

And they didn't have an intermission.  I can't imagine doing the show with an intermission.  The time just flew by.  Adding an intermission would just ruin everything.  Anyway, it was great to see the whole thing in context with all the dialogue.  A thoroughly enjoyable evening. ;D

The only thing that really screamed "community theater" more than anything else were the costumes for the finale.  The men's weren't as fitted as you'd think they should be and they were one-pieces that they just slipped on.  I know that that was necessary, but several had ripped crotches, which wasn't.  Fortunately (no, really), they were wearing undergarments that were a similar color (no one was going commando ;)).

We've been purged by Mr. Mark Bakalor, but even before that happened (only fifteen minutes ago) it certainly seems that people could post photos, so not sure what was going on.
