They certainly can "can"!

Am I just hopelessly consumptive?   ::)

Gosh!  Unless someone deletes a post on a prior page, I've actually started a new page.

I could do a happy payday Friday before Thanksgiving week dance.

I could.

But I won't.

Don't ask me.

MBarnum, have you ever seen "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai"? It was popular at the late, lamented Bollywood theatre near my house in Marietta.

Definitely time to get my eyes checked.  I saw an ad for a movie I thought was called FRIED CLAMS; when I got closer, it was FRED CLAUS.

Did everyone read vixmom's lovely amazon review?  I know it's a trial sometimes to find reviews on amazon, so here it is:

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful:
 A Page Turner!, November 15, 2007
By    D. Mann "D. Mann" (New York) - See all my reviews

An odd duckling in Hollywood High, Adriana despises her classmates and they despise her right back. She wears styles from decades past, along with the the appropriate hair and makeup... no wonder all the cookie cutter My Space addicts can't deal with her, she's an actual thinking individual!

Adriana is the only child of a Rock'n'Roll loving single mom (widowed); and unlike many of her credit card wielding, BMW driving classmates, living a modest life style, including dial up (GASP!) internet service and meatloaf four times a week (not counting the sandwiches for lunch)

Adriana would find school unbearable if it wasn't for her best friend, Billy, (who is openly gay, much to the disgust of the high school jocks) and her supportive journalism teacher.

When a popular classmate is murdered, Adriana's life spins out of control and she takes action to make things right.

I couldn't put this down until I reached the end, and I most probably would have started it over again if my 14 year old daughter hadn't ripped it out of my hands so she could read it!

Her take on the book?

"When the next one in the series going to be available?"

Many many thanks to Ben, Cilla, George, Jane, Jennifer, TCB and Tomovoz, for the birthday wishes for Skip..  He really appreciates the good thoughts.

Back from Cirque du Soleil, which had some pretty stunning acts, but the story they tried to impose on the acts was just sort of ridiculous and lacking in any sort of momentum.  Impressive opening 20-25 minutes, then the first act flattened out interest-wise, but the second act came barreling back with one exciting act after another.  (One of the gymnasts seemed to have hurt himself during one of the more daring acrobatic moves, but carried on until the end.)

Since Skip cooked his own birthday brumch, we did take-out for dinner from one of our fave fancy-ish restaurants, 44 and X.  Just wonderful.

(BK's eaten at 44 and X a couple of times, IIRC, and he loved their upscale mac-and-cheese.)

Do you cook a mean brunch differently than a nice brunch?

I love MAD MAGAZINE....

If you don't know the answer, you can always ask Dr. Potzrebie.

RE:  Pwoject Wunway.....I would have kicked both of the bottom two "designers" off the show.

I don't like "crazy".....and really don't like Christopher...although BIG Chris did great.....and I liked the baby doll dress fabric, too.  Rami's drape dress was lovely and fit very well.....

$50,000 worth of fabric should have produced a LOT better dresses than we saw.

. . .and the TOD:

CD PLAYER:  Matchbox Twenty - Exile on Mainstream

DVD PLAYER:
LA VIE EN ROSE - a b**tleg with Swedish (!) subtitles!
LES DEMOISELLES DE ROCHEFORT - Lord, how I love this movie!  Whenever I need a little lift to feel perky again, this movie always does the trick.
. . .and from Netflix today, AWARA PAAGAL DEEWANA, featuring Om Puri, Akshay Kumar and Rahul Dev.
