One of the things that I love about Percy, and which Gene Lees hipped me to, was Percy's incredible use of counter-melodies, which he interpolates into virtually all of his arrangements.  Percy basically recomposes a song each time.

Happy Anniversary to MR BK and HHW!

I remember that DR GINNY - but I forget what the photo was.

Nancy Dickerson, DR JRand.

A little disappointed that the Bronislau Kaper CD I bought turns out to be the maestro at the piano, not with an orchestra.  He's not the world's most facile pianist.  :)

Good morning, all! I am on DJ's laptop and moving cautiously while I figure out this keyboard and cursor. I think I want one now, so perhaps DR Jose and I will look into this when he returns.

MacBook?  Richard and I love ours.

In the late 1990's, I started my cast recording/theatre related CD collection (or call it what you will) and I kept purchasing these CD's with a brown spine and produced by this guy named Bruce Kimmel. I was an avid chat-ter on IRC and I was internet friends with Mark Bakalor who somehow got himself involved with this same Bruce Kimmel.  I kept on eye on what Bruce was doing and was excited when he started the "other" label, and then he disappeared.  I don't remember how I found this site, but I've been here on and off since 2002.  Happy Anniversary.

If you paid more than $5 for it, you were gypped.

I urge you to check out the FSM library of available titles...that label has issued TONS of Kaper material from the MGM vaults.

Yes, I have tons of FSM stuff, but I was on a Mutiny on the Bounty kick last week LOL.  I only paid 99 cents, so I guess I did OK.

I must say Elmer Bernstein's arrangment of Follow Me from MOTB is quite outre, featuring an Yma Sumac-esque vocalist declaiming "Folllllllooooowwww meeeeeee" in the highest audible registers of a soprano voice.  ;)

Dental Vibes, Ron Pulliam.

I've got a friend who's getting a dental implant this morning. I hope it's not contagious.

It is (dental contagious that is) since I'm going right from the office to the Dentist chair this late afternoon (6pm). I should have 1 or perhaps 2 more visits before I'm finished. He has to do prep work for the crown today and that may take two sessions. If it only takes one then he can take the impression and send the crown out to be made and then I just need have it installed.

Yes, a very good review by JMK and perhaps the only online review to really state the problems clearly and concisely and then say, also clearly and concisely, that most of it looks great, especially the color.  I tried in all my posts over the last few weeks to keep reminding people of that, as did Mr. Harris.

JMK - one typo in the beginning of one of the paragraphs - you used "made" for "may".

D'oh, I noticed that last night and then forgot to fix it.  I blame Pneumonia.  And Jose.  Well, mostly Jose.

I was directed to this here sight by DR JRand and former DR DenMother (wait, is that right?)...I remembered BK from his appearances long ago on Laverne and Shirley, but was unaware of all his other accomplishments...but know I know...and he continues to accomplish more and more!

You know what?  I will NOT speak with "Customer Service" people who cannot speak English.  I just hung up twice with Amazon.  Will not, not, not do it.  Period.

Years ago I was at Portland's "big" shul for Yom Kippur and we were reading through the litany of sins we all collectively commit, which include xenophobia.  Suddenly this extremely elderly woman next to me shouted out (in a great New York accent), "What's xenophobia?"  :)

Wasn't it that musical with Olivia Newton-John? It made me afraid, very afraid.

My play, JOLSON, opens a 6 performance run this weekend in Greensboro, NC.

 :)

Unfortunately, I will be here in Austin doing the Comic Con.

 :(

Why does everything always have to happen on the same weekend?

 :P
Congratulations on the production, however.

Ditto!

Bruce, you may want to alter your routes today as you go about running errands and picking up packages. There is massive flooding on Ventura Boulevard due to broken water mains.
