RE: tonight's DANCING WITH THE STARS

spoilers i guess

I thought tonight's show was a bit of a letdown. Especially marie. She was so good last week. But this week she was extremely mediocre.

And while Mel B was still great this week. I actually agree with the judges. I was expecting more. Since she is so good i just thought she could do better.

I guess the highlight of the night was helio's freestyle. But that is mostly because julianne knows exactly how to choreograph a winning routine. but his lifts were fantastic. And you could tell he worked hard on it.

I sort of see helio winning.  And really think it would be laughable if marie won after her performance.  I don't really get it. She was so good last week.

Marie was really mouthy tonight and her freestyle wasn't a dance...I don't know what you'd call it but it was lousy

Helio won the Indy 500. Never been a dancer and is now really good.  (he got our votes)  Mel B aka Scary Spice of the Spice Girls. Don't know if that helps, but that's why they are calling them stars

Thank you, DR Matt for the info.

I somehow doubt I need that big of a set in my small house.  I did some more looking and I am really looking at this:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8473653&productCategoryId=abcat0101001&type=product&id=1186005983963

It's on sale for $799.00.  I think it would do everything I need it to do except fit in my current TV stand.  I would just have to buy another one.

I'm guessing this would suit your needs admirably. It still has HDMI ports which future-proof the TV for any later DVD/cable box/satellite dish linkage.

And if you get it, I (and others on this site) would be glad to offer advice on setting it up with the equipment you have.

The hint has been made that they have been involved!  A couple of episodes back, Jack asked Ianto to stick around, and in the last episode Owen was sniping at Ianto about what's been going on.  We just aren't getting to see the footage (another reason to get the DVD?   :o   ;D)

And when he was passed out during that alien robot attack, Jack laid a BIG kiss on him (that was like episode 4 or 6).

I forgot to mention earlier that I did skim through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. The gay characters were on, but they don't appear to be on tomorrow.

HAIRSPRAY looks just sensational on Blu-ray, and it had a DTS-Master Audio track (the high def version of DTS), so it sounded as good as it looked. I watched the whole thing.

Then I saw that the Blu-ray has that picture-in-picture commentary (called BD-Java) with the director, the female star, and the two producers (Neil and Craig), but I didn't try to watch the entire thing again, so I'll do that  tomorrow and watch/listen to their commentary.

CHUCK had a great adventure episode tonight that I really liked. I liked Bryce and wish the character could make occasional appearances back in Chuck's life. I was pleased that they settled the unpleasantness between them.

HEROES had a great episode tonight except for the Micah story which I didn't care about at all. The rest was exciting, and the hour was over before I knew it.

Good Evening!

Back from seeing "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium".  What a strange and strangely beautiful - and surprisingly touching movie.  I'm not really sure how it would be categorized - drama, comedy, adventure, etc.  I guess "fantasy" would be the closest thing to it.

Dustin Hoffman's Mr. Magorium seems sort of like his "Rain Man" all grown up, but with lots of Wisdom.  Natalie Portman is cute as always, and Jason Bateman, is well, Jason Bateman - which is OK with me!  And Zach Helm, who plays "Eric Applebaum, the Hat Collector" is quite endearing.

It's not a perfect movie, but it is what it is.

And the opening credits are cool too, as well as the closing credits which list the various departments according to what they do.  For example, the Producers are under the category of "People Who Make Sure We Get Paid."  Cute!

BK - The score is by Alexandre Desplat with an assist by Aaron Zigman.  I may have to buy the soundtrack.

I think one of my favorite lines from the movie tonight was/is:

Life is an occasion.  Rise to it.

-Which I'm guessing comes from another source.   ???

DR Jason sends his best to everyone, and, actually, once he hits the road, he should have a bit of time to check-in and post here from time to time as he traverses a good chunk of the country in a van.  All he has to do while he's on the road is the show, so no day job or night job to get in the way.

There is a link to the show at TheatreworksUSA.org, but the "Take Your Class To This Show" finder doesn't seem to be working.  I've entered a few of the cities I know he's playing, but nothing's coming up.  ???

OH!

And on the way into the movie, we happened to spy Mr. Philip Bosco and Ms. Laura Linney.  I believe they were attending the DGA/SAG screening of "The Namesake".  -I have to say that Laura Linney practically glows in person - what a beautiful woman.
