Did someone mention that HISTORY BOYS was a very hard-to-get ticket?  I assume the best seats ARE very hard to get, but for the moment broadwaybox.com has a few discount codes that seem to bring up some fairly decent seats (although in the mezzanine) when I tried the codes out a little while ago.

The Florida Gators seemed to have been lunching on ladies lately unfortunately... three in the past couple of weeks from what I 've  read somewhere.....

Yes, FJL, I had mentioned that. I had heard through the grapevine that it's very difficult to get tickets. I shall try this weekend and see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

Back from a good rehearsal - I really flew today and we got everything but about twenty pages of act two blocked and ten of those twenty pages that are left all take place in one location with the entire cast onstage and with no music, so that should go very fast.  Again, I'm not spending the kind of time I'd like to on things, but it's at least serviceable - now if I could only get my pianist to show up on time, spend some time learning the damn stuff, and get him to some rehearsals before the show date.

I just learned today that the original Elektra "Baroque Beatles Book" arranged by Joshua Rifkin is being released on CD!  Excellent news.

Yes, I read about COMMANDER IN CHIEF last night being gone along with HOPE & FAITH, INVASION, and FREDDIE. ABC had a lousy year of developing new shows this past season. Not one of their new dramas is returning (unless you consider WHAT ABOUT BRIAN a drama.) Luckily for them, they're still flying high with LOST, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, GREY'S ANATOMY, EXTREME MAKEOVER, and DANCING WITH THE STARS.

Yes, I had read about Joan Diener earlier this morning. Her cast recordings are among some great listening pleasures of the last century.

Thanks, but no thanks DR George. The only thing I am really in the mood for is to shop on the internet but sadly I have no money.

Watched OLD CHRISTINE this afternoon. An amusing half hour, and we got to see a little more of NEW Christine making her a more sympathetic character.

I also watched SUnday's THE SOPRANOS this afternoon. Oh, some bad decisions made during the show which will have major repercussions later.

Put in a simple sweet gay movie that came in last week - REGARDING BILLY. A very quiet, mild little film but left me with a warm feeling and some moist eyes. Nice.

And I ended the afternoon watching some of GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK again. I didn't get very far into it, but will continue it when I go back downstairs.

It's almost time for me to go back to LACC - can you believe it?  I'll rehearse until six-fifteen and then head over to my beloved Bird's to meet up with Pogue.  Oh, the dish we shall dirt.  No, that's not it.  Oh, the dirt we shall dish.

The weather cannot nmake up its mind today, either it is black as night and pouring like crazy or the sun is brilliantly shining... and it has been bouncing between the two extremes all day

It is currently shining but I am sure it will immedaitley revert to rain as soon as my key turns the car ignition

which I hope to do momentarily... LATERS!!!!!!

TPunk, your AIDS Walk Link worked! Do you have a goal figure?

That's great.  I do have a goal of $500 which I am much closer to reaching thanks in part to some of the folks at this site!

And even though I am broke I did still buy a few CDs from Indiaweekly.com.

Last night after Penny's play reading, I went to Tower Records and bought four, count 'em FOUR, CDs!  I got Pins and Needles featurning Barbra Streisand, Martin Charnin's Upstairs at O'Neals'[/u], and the 1961 (for both) original Broadway cast recordings of Kean[/u] and Sail Away[/u], the latter released by DRG with two bonus tracks of songs cut from the Broadway production and a whole second disc of Noël Coward himself singing songs from the show!

I showed those same discounts to a co-counselor at GMHC and she was able to get orchestra seats for an upcoming performance so I guess it's not super sold out.
