Well, you've read the notes, the notes approached the finish line, and now it is time for you to post until the Finnish cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: WHEREWITHAL!
-
Hello fro Singapore
-
The music at the bar is nice right now that the singer is not singing.
-
Oops, I spoke too soon.
-
My complaint is not with her voice but that the microphone makes her too loud.
-
It is bedtime for us. Fingers crossed I don't give Keith a fright again. He was very concerned last night I would rupture something from coughing so hard.
-
I got another pillow to elevate me higher tonight.
-
No coughing vibes for DR JANE.
-
Getting to the finish line and casting vibes for MR BK.
-
Well it's interesting that the heat pump man says the same thing is wrong with my system as was wrong in November - which he "fixed" at that time..... I told him I didn't think that sounded right.....
He is coming back on Monday to work on it.....so here are Birdy Barnum and I in single degree temps with no heat....from the furnace...
Fortunately I can use the gas furnace which will raise the temp to about 68 degrees in the north end of the house....and I use small space heaters in the south end where our bedrooms and computer room are....
But I don't like to keep ANY of them on all the time, so I am up and down all night turning them on and off....
NOT MY TYPE OF WEEKEND
-
I also would like to see DR VIXMOM as Dolly Parton.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I'm feeling quite lazy this morning, but I was just given a list of things to do by Annabelle. So, when I finish my cuppa coffee, I'll wash their dishes, clean the litter, and patrol. I'm ignoring the last one, "Take me to Petco."
-
Good morning, all.
-
The good news: We got dumped on way less than originally forecast. I think the storm lessened a little bit for everyone. So this is a good thing. It looks like we maxxed out at around two inches. And the ;lowing neighbor just did his plowing thing, so at least we're not landlocked.
The bad news: It's an unholy wintry mix, and whatever is left on the sidewalks and driveways this afternoon when it refreezes and goes all the way down to zero tonight is going to be there until Wednesday. So, after eating and getting myself gussied bundled up, I'll be going out to see what (if anything) the snowblower will pick up, and doing whatever has to be done in pushing the loose stuff off the driveway with a shovel.
-
The most aggravating part of this is the temperature "forecast", which I put in quotation marks because you can't even call it a forecast when what they were calling for today as of midnight last night is already 10-15 degrees LOWER now. In other words, their forecasts for a high of 43-47 degrees today (depending on which site you look at) has gradually deteriorated to forecasts for a high of 32-36 degrees. How all of these sources can be so wrong is totally beyond me.
-
But I can smell bacon cooking (not frying, it's in the oven), and that is a wonderful thing.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sorry i missed yesterday. I was dancing up a storm. It was fun. But it was too much. Getting ready to soak for a while.
-
So, back to the anthology watching. The first night it was THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD, which was great, then I skipped Friday to honor Nick Redman. There's more Nick Redman to come, but yesterday afternoon I got an early start on the anthology-a-thon by watching the first of two films, TALES FROM THE CRYPT. I had deliberately planned on watching both that and THE VAULT OF HORROR together, because these two had never gotten the attention they deserved from me in the DVD era due to a below-par release on the MGM Midnite Movies series. They were in the old "full screen" (4x3) format, and one of the stories contained what has to be one of the worst hack jobs in ratings-censorship ever, resulting in an incomprehensible couple of minutes at the story's climax. I'd acquired the Shout! Blu-ray release last year, but hadn't watched it yet. Fortunately, with the exception of some occasionally distracting audio overload/distortion, it's beautiful. I took an hour break between the two films, and it made for a perfect double feature. (These were two separate films released at different times; they're only a double feature in how they've been released on both the previous DVD and this Blu-ray.)
-
Great notes yesterday on Nick, BK. I’m glad you’ll be singing at the service. And what a wonderful choice of songs. It was one of the waltzes I danced to yesterday.
-
ChasSmith, your photos were really wonderful. Thanks for sharing them.
-
Happy belated birthday, DR Amy.
-
Winter storm survival vibes for all.

It's dark and gray outside, but I see no signs of snow.
-
We didn't get any snow here, but it was raining like crazy this morning
-
Usually we have about 200 or so worshippers at the 9 am service
-
Today, between the weather and people away for the three day weekend, we had 25
-
So, although I set up coffee hour, set and reset the altar, served as assisting minister and doubled as acolyte I was out of church by 10:20
-
And headed right to Rick's Place ( the deli around the corner) where I ordered egg sandwiches
-
Scrambled with sausage on an onion roll for Vixdad
-
Over easy with bacon and muenster cheese on an onion roll for me
-
And Vixdad had a freshly made hot pot of tea ready when I got home
-
We got a bunch of snow and are supposed to get about 25-35cms. Yuck. And it is still freezing.

Yuck, indeed.

Just had two — count ‘em, two — amazing massages. Body very happy.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
Hello fro Singapore
time for an eye exam". On my handheld, that first looked like Half a Sixpence.
-
I love that TV commercial where the sister complains about her brother "Mom, he's blinking too loud."
-
though I have no idea what the product they were selling is
-
Just had two — count ‘em, two — amazing massages. Body very happy.
For some reason, my YouTube playlist has suddenly been suggesting all these videos of massages (not X-rated, but kind of "scantily clad" like any massage would be - bur it looks like the type of YouTube profile I might not want to have)
-
I think it may be that someone had sent me a funny video with a "Happy ending" massage but said don't worry, it's funny. And it was very funny, actually totally clean enough for most offices.
THE SPOILER WAS -
The guy was so excited about the happy ending massage he was getting as a birthday gift, and at the end, the happy ending was a big party weithnhis parents and musicians.
Well, I laughed.
-
Amy - hope it was a great birthday!

Reminds of a scene in, I think, Kentucky Fried Movie, where George Bailey goes to Mr. Gower’s drug store to buy condoms and ends up being in a parade with a marching band.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Vibes for better weather for all who need it.
-
Heat pump repair vibes to Jrand!
May you and Birdy stay comfortable until it's fixed!

It was only a few years ago when I learned THAT meaning for a happy ending. It's usually my hairdresser who fills me in on such things.
-
I have no news.
Except to say that I'm hungry and will be leaving shortly to rectify that.
-
TTFN.
-
The choice of Hushabye Mountain was his daughter's.
-
I futzed and finessed and have done six pages. I definitely will write until I finish the book, but that will probably be late this evening, so I'm going out now to get some food. Then I'll eat and mush on. I'll try to do three or four pages an hour, but I will need a few breaks. But even if I'm up until the wee hours of the morning, I will finish.
-
Up from a nap and not motivated to do anything.
-
No coughing vibes for DR JANE.
Thanks.
-
The new pillow kept me properly elevated for the first time on this trip. We both slept well.
-
Winter storm survival vibes for all.
DITTO!

I had no clue until today.
-
In Vietnam and Cambodia the referred to the Happy Room as the bathroom.
-
As of 7:00am it is 79 degrees and expected to only go up to 86 degrees today.
-
Time to watch the rest of Miss Susan Hayward in The Hairy Ape.
-
Had a little time to read today. Made it through 40 pages of Beloved. I am now seeing an end to the journey. Only about 80 pages left. It's been devastating.
-
I finished Dexter
-
Dinner tonight
Roast chicken
Stuffing
Roasted asparagus with hollandaise
-
I've done twelve pages so far and need a break for sure. Had a quick Taco Bell meal here. I'll take a forty-minute break and then mush on - I've got probably fifteen pages to go, maybe a tiny bit more, but I can definitely get it done.
-
I did a bjs run... I had a 250 gift card provided by Thrivent ( a Lutheran Financial services group) so I used it to buy 50 lbs of meatballs, 30 lbs of sauce, 20 lbs of sugar , 3 large cans of coffee, 640 oz of apple juice and 600 napkins.
-
And I still have $40 left on the card
-
I brought everything to the church andout it away
-
Then I brought the church linens home and put them in to soak
-
Then I made a ham casserole (for tomorrow)
-
Then I watched the Dexter finale again
-
Abdstarted putting away Christmas
-
Then I made the aforementioned chicken dinner
-
Writing vibes for BK
-
Good evening.
I had every intention of continuing with the anthologies this evening, but following a long afternoon’s storm cleanup, I am wedded to the recliner in the other room. Wedded to the recliner, wedded to the comfy sweats, wedded to the fleece bathrobe, wedded to this glass bottle of red vino. I can’t even promise I’ll get up later to check out the Super Blood Wolf Moon Lunar Eclipse.
-
Break over.
-
I finished Dexter
What did you think of the ending?
-
Did some cleaning. It's too daunting a task to do more than a little at a time.
-
Tried to watch the lunar eclipse but the sky is clouded over. The moon is bright, but only vaguely visible through the clouds.
-
Starting to watch an indy flick called We the Animals. i had read the book last year. it's a coming-of-age story of a young gay Hispanic kid somewhere in upstate New York. There's a lot of Moonlight in it, but that's not a bad thing.
-
Not to mention, I have two cats on me. What’s a guy to do?
I rest my case.
-
The sky has cleared and the moon is just brilliant.
-
I finished Dexter
What did you think of the ending?
It wasn't the ending I wanted, but I can understand why they made this choice. I did like that they left it open ended so there is a possibility of him changing his mind.
I hated Debra's final story arc
-
The moon is nice tonight too.
-
How many carts did that purchase take DR VIXMOM.
-
Finishing the book vibes for MR BK.
-
Single digit temperatures again tonight. Hopefully we will see the heat pump man tomorrow.
Birdy Barnum has the warmest room in the house - which is as it should be.

That's very nice of you. Stay warm.

Four!
-
had a phone call from a friend who wanted to talk. So, now it's back to We the Animals.
-
Has anyone tried CBD oil? A coffeehouse here is selling in coffee, which sounds like an odd mixture.

That's sounds like my line, Fred.

I have long been fascinated by the Lorenz Hart version for "On Your Toes":
Remember the youth mid snow and ice
Who bore the banner with the strange device
Excelsior!
I had no idea it was beginning of a Longfellow poem:
A youth, who bore, 'mid snow and ice,
A banner with the strange device,
Excelsior!
I think Hart only rewrote that so he could rhyme Excelsior with "... in Chelsea or ..."
-
And that concludes my journey through forgotten poetry this evening.
-
I think I'm off to bed soon. Somebody yesterday was kind enough to schedule a meeting for 8 a.m. tomorrow.
-
I was not amused. I'm still not amused.
-
But I am employed.
-
Gratuitous post No. 101!
-
That eclipse is really something. Wish I could stay up for it.
-
But I will say good night.
-
The first quarter of the eclipse here has been great, but I, too, must say good night.
-
No coughing vibes for DR JANE.
~~~Super Ditto!!~~~
-
Heat pump repair vibes to Jrand!
May you and Birdy stay comfortable until it's fixed!
~~~Super Ditto, Too!!~~~
-
Winter storm survival vibes for all.
~~~Super Ditto, Three!!~~~
-
I saw the moon when it was half-way eclipsed.
-
It was clear and very easy to see.
-
I just wish I had a camera with a good telephoto lens.
-
Today, I had the weekly family dinner get-together.
-
We then played Phase 10, which I lost.
-
Twenty-two pages so far - two forty-minute breaks, but I'm going for the gold. Notes will be up late, because I'm finishing this puppy tonight come hell or high water. I'm in the big final sequence and after I wrap that up in four or five pages, then it's just another few pages to tie things up.
-
Then I went to the Lacey Fred Meyer and bought a new jacket and three new shirts, all for 50% off!
-
Then I went to the Tumwater Fred Meyer and bought two pairs of shoes that were both about 65% off!
-
I love the Fred Meyer clearance sales!!
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!
Tomorrow, Margo and I are going to see Bohemian Rhapsody at 11:30 a.m.
-
How many carts did that purchase take DR VIXMOM.
Just one...BJs has big carts
-
I did a bjs run... I had a 250 gift card provided by Thrivent ( a Lutheran Financial services group) so I used it to buy 50 lbs of meatballs, 30 lbs of sauce, 20 lbs of sugar , 3 large cans of coffee, 640 oz of apple juice and 600 napkins.
That's great, thanks for getting that - but what are you gonna have?
It'll will be used for our February soup kitchen, and actually March as well as we use 20 or25lbs ofmeatballs per meal
-
Then I went to the Lacey Fred Meyer and bought a new jacket and three new shirts, all for 50% off!
For a minute I thought this was a store that specialized in lace garments
-
I never heard of a Fred Meyers store around here
-
I never heard of a Fred Meyers store around here
I think it is mostly a west coast store, but it's also known as Kroger's.
-
I looked at the moon when it was about 1/3 eclipsed but it is very cold and windy so I decided to just sit in he recliner and stream an episode of 6 feet under... which I never watched
-
I'll give you 3 guesses as to what inspired me to watch it
-
I've heard of Kroger s, but I've never seen one
-
The showing of Bohemian Rhapsody that Margo and I are going to see tomorrow is a new immersive format called ScreenX.
-
According to their website, ScreenX (https://www2.regmovies.com/screenx#/) is "a revolutionary, multi-projection theatre experience that extends the screen to the auditorium walls. This immersive format takes traditional moviegoing a step further, by surrounding the audience with a 270-degree panoramic visual and putting them in the center of the action."
-
We're going at 11:30 a.m. because the matinee price is $7.56, but the evening show costs $16.00! :o
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, George
-
I thought you already saw BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY?
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I went out to lunch/brunch with my friend, Betzy.
-
I thought you already saw BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY?
No, I haven't. I may have said before that we were going to go, though.
-
She will be babysitting Nick next week.
-
I thought you already saw BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY?
No, I haven't. I may have said before that we were going to go, though.
No, I probably just misunderstood.
-
Are you spending anytime in Florida TCB or just passing through?
-
Are you spending anytime in Florida TCB or just passing through?
We are just spending Saturday night in Tampa, and we board the ship at around noon on Sunday.
One more post.
I went out to lunch/brunch with my friend, Betzy.
Tom, how was your lunch, and what did you have?
-
Oh, that’s right. Notes are going to be late tonight.
-
I don't remember the poets corner, but I do remember mr peabody and his boy Sherman and the wayback machine
-
Its 3 am why am I not sleeping?
-
I went out to lunch/brunch with my friend, Betzy.
Tom, how was your lunch, and what did you have?
Brunch/lunch was good. I had stuffed hash browns, which I would certainly order again.
-
Its 3 am why am I not sleeping?
Because you are chatting with us. Don’t you have tomorrow off for MLK Day?
-
I think I will go and read for a while before bed.
-
Goodnight, all.
We are just spending Saturday night in Tampa, and we board the ship at around noon on Sunday.
Have fun, safe travels and don't let the battery run out on your scooter again.
-
DR Jrand vibes your heater is fixed soon, and the fix isn't expensive.
-
I'm off to bed now. I need to get up early enough to see Bohemian Rhapsody in the new ScreenX format. After the movie, we'll get something to eat. I'll have a report on the new ScreenX format when I get home.
Have a good tomorrow, all!
-
George, i hope this screenex thing doesn't give you motion sickness.
