Well, you've read the notes, the notes occurred in the time/space continuum, and now it is time for you to post until the time/space cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FOLIACEOUS!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK.
-
Tonight, a friend is having a reading of a play called Fox, which is loosely based on Volpone by Elizabethan playwright Ben Jonson. I know several people in the cast, so that'll be fun.
-
But first, I need to go to sleep. 8)
Have a good day, all!
-
LOL DR Jrand. Thanks for the photo and post regarding my infamous relative by marriage.
-
We are on the train to Lancaster to see my 1st cousin once removed who does write ;)
-
Her mother was my mother's favorite aunt. My mother would stay with them on the Isle of Man. One time she got sick while there and stayed for weeks. When I finally traveled to the Isle if Man and met my cousin in person I found out a bit more about my mother's illness than I had been told at the time.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Around 12:30 I woke and took the second Advil PM. Some time around 4:00, I woke with the leg pains, and pretty much stayed awake until the alarm rang at 6:30. I did doze on and off, and I woke around 5:30 after a nightmare about that frightening piece of fakelore from the late 1990s, The Blair Witch.
-
Joshie has no work for me today, so I'll be going to physical therapy and then coming back here. I need to work on that Christmas overture today.
-
Good morning

I have long held plans togo painting with my friend tonight, we’ve had two cancellations since August due to low enrollment for the paint night...let’s see if this one pans out

Painting vibes for DR VIXMOM and otherwise vibes for her Mom.
-
No more pain vibes for DR ELMORE.

I enjoyed the notes today. I really don't like the movie to musical trend.....especially the Disney versions of their cartoons....
Otherwise I think Footloose is one of the worst movies to musicals....
The only one that I sort of like is The Wedding Singer....otherwise....no.

B.K.
Forgive me, but as worded, your question of the day is a bit unclear.
Are you talking about movies that were produced in the 1980s and 1990s that later became musicals?
Or, any musical (adapted from a film) that was produced in that time period?
Not sure if they fit into your time period, but the only two musicals that I can think of that were based on previously produced films are CHICAGO and THE PRODUCERS.
Of course, ROXIE HART (CHICAGO) was, I believe, produced back i the late 1930s or early 1940s, so I don't know if that would count.

Good morning!
-
Good afternoon from Greece, y’all.
-
Went to a beautiful amphitheater that seats 17,000 with perfect acoustics. It’s in Epidavros.
-
TOD:
I really like the opening song from The Wedding Singer. The rest is okay.
-
Trying to decide how early to call and check on my mom
That sounds terrible about the trip to the ER. I hope that she is okay.
-
Vibes the therapy brings Elmore some pain relief
Ditto!
-
DR Vixmom I hope your mother is ok and you enjoy your painting class tonight.
-
We are on the train heading back to Manchester after another wonderful time with family.
-
Thursday morning greetings! Our weather forecast calls for a high today of 90 and a low tonight of 49. It's hard to believe that's going to be accomplished without a doozy of a thunderstorm, but there's nothing like that predicted.
-
DR Vixmom, I hope your Mom is OK...
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am home from therapy. The cats were underwhelmed to see me.
-
It's a wet, very gray day today, and I suspect it's affecting my leg joints today. Everything aches.
-
DR vixmom, I hope things are okay with your ma today.
-
The cold has basically left the building, thank all the gods.
Now to get my strength back in time for a weekend of shows.
-
Vibes for vixmom and vixmommom!

The only musical I've seen recently that was as good, if not better, than the film it's based on was Once. Moulin Rouge remains to my thinking one of the absolute worst pieces of crap I've ever sat through, and I'd put The Goodbye Girl nearly as bad, although it had the advantage of a better book by Neil Simon. The book for Moulin Rouge is a joke.

I am very pleased for you.

After lunch at a 400 year old restaurant we had a lovely drive into the country as they wanted us to see the place they rented with friends for the week. It was at the end of a quiet, narrow country road with beautiful views.
-
It's nice to see other than touristy things DR JANE!
-
Today might be the last day of air conditioning for awhile.....low low temps for the next few days.....
-
I agree on Once. Never wanted to see The Goodbye Girl. The cast album was mediocre to the point of being lousy.

I really liked The Wedding Singer when it was done here in Olympia. I knew people in the cast, so that helped.

I've never seen any of these, but I loved the Once cast album, and I really like the original Broadway cast recording to The Goodbye Girl. I cannot stand the London cast recording where they cut all but one and a half songs and rewrote the score with a different lyricist. BAD MISTAKE! I really don't have any interest in seeing or hearing Moulin Rouge.

No, they don't count. The trend is adapting movies from the 1980s and 1990s and now the 2000s - that's all they're doing.
-
I'm up, I'm up - was up at eleven - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
Left a message for the actor and as soon as he confirms, I'll reveal who it is.

What was I thinking?? SPOO!! I HAVE seen Once! A national tour came through and was fantastic!

It is. Tomorrow we are meeting the cousins from Wednesday for another driving tour. They are packing a lunch to eat on the way as we have a long day of driving.

NEWS FOR JANE!
Three people have been shot at a retirement apartment building in Vancouver Washington. Currently it is still an active shooter situation.
-
And I am groggy as all HELL.
An unexpected nap can do that to a person. And it did.

Oh, my goodness! :o
-
Had several long telephonic conversations, did some work at the piano, then picked up a few packages.
-
I went to Popeye's and got two chicken breasts to go. No one in the jernt at all - why? They're out of the chicken sandwich. People are morons.
-
Then I put gas in the motor car.
-
I came home, ate the breasts and am nice and full.
-
Now I'm listening to more Allan Pettersson symphonies - many are simply too noisy for me, but every now and then we get a real winner.
-
The one I'm listening to now, the ninth, is not one of the winners.
-
I came home, ate the breasts and am nice and full.
That's the working title of our bound-for-Broadway musical adaptation of the 1980s film PORKY'S.

And now, I'm off. I'm going to the reading of a new play (adapted) by a friend of mine.
Until later!

Good evening.
-
I picked up Rex's ashes today. The box is so tiny.
-
I have no other news.
-
Watching something called Chernobyl. Amazing how governments think it's okay to lie, lie, and lie more. Not that that could ever happen here.

It was a chilling story

Our actor is in - turns out he'd contacted Doug via text - he doesn't have my cell. The wonderful actor Jim Beaver is our Whiteside. He was a regular on Deadwood, and has been a series regular from the start on the long and still-running Supernatural. We are all thrilled.
-
Hmmm I thought I posted here but it didn’t show up
-
I tried to post a picture of the. Paintings we did tonight but the site said it was too big
-
It’s on FB if anyone cares
-
Yesterday it was beautiful and hot temperature in the low 90’s
-
Today it rained all day and the temperatures were in the 50’s
-
Congratulations on your new leading man, BK
-
I am afraid I have no idea who he is though as I never watched supernatural or deadwood
-
Finished with my viewing.

Here's a bio of Mr. Beaver:
JIM BEAVER is an actor, playwright and film historian. He is most popular to
worldwide audiences for his recurring role as Bobby Singer in the television series,
“Supernatural,” now entering its 15th and final season. He played Whitney Ells-
worth in the HBO series “Deadwood” and Sheriff Shelby Parlow on the FX series,
“Justified.” He also recurred as gun dealer Lawson on “Breaking Bad” and as French
Stewart’s sullen boss on NBC’s “Third Rock from the Sun.”
In 2016 he played Big Daddy in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF at the Berkshire The-
atre Festival and toured in the early 80s as Macduff in MACBETH and THE LAST
MEETING OF THE NIGHTS OF THE WHITE MAGNOLIA. A long-time mem-
ber of Theatre West, he has written and appeared in VERDIGRIS, in last year’s THE
NIGHT FORLORN and in their critically-acclaimed LION IN WINTER as Henry.
Jim is working on a biography on the late actor George Reeves and served as historical/biographical consultant
on the film HOLLYWOODLAND.
Jim has appeared in over fifty feature films, most notably: SILKWOOD, TURNER & HOOCH, SISTER ACT,
MAGNOLIA, ADAPTATION, THE LIFE OF DAVID GALE and the upcoming BILLY BOY. Jim had a starring
role in Guillermo del Toro’s recent graphic ghost story, CRIMSON PEAK, a part that del Toro wrote for him.

Very impressive resume

Good evening.

What the Hell?

Page 4?

Page 3 started at 3:36 p.m. Left Coast time and we just turned the page.

Where is everybody?

Jane is on vacation (but posting).
-
John G. Is on vacation (but posting).
-
So what is wrong with this picture?
-
We are doomed!
-
If you are counting on me to fill the void.
-
I have already taken my pain pills.
-
So, unfortunately, my cleaver witticisms are put away for the night.
-
Has anyone watched the new series, EVIL?
-
I have recorded the first two episodes, but I am not sure I want to see it.
-
I used to love scary stories.
-
Both books and films.
-
But the older I get, the less I enjoy them.
-
I think THE SIXTH SENSE was the last horror film I watched and enjoyed.
-
But even in that film, when the kid walked into the room with the hatchet in his head, I just about lost it.
-
I am sure I must have seen some since, but I can’t think what they might have been.
-
And now, I'm off. I'm going to the reading of a new play (adapted) by a friend of mine.
Until later!
I'm home. The play reading was fun! Not knee-slapping funny, but it was pretty funny.

Hi, Tom.

Oh, no. :(

The shooter is an 80 year old resident of the building.

Gratuitous Post #125!

Scott played Roy Cohn in ANGELS IN AMERICA.

I am not understanding this page five malarky.

Not at all.

Not one whit.

Not even a half whit.

I gotta tell you.

We will find the culprits and they will be put in the corner and quietly flogged, like Judge Turpin.
