Yep he was hung... CNN has some information on it. Acutally it was last night here.

Well he was hanged, don't know if he was hung...guess it's a little late for that to make a difference ;)

I am watching PEYTON PLACE.

I have seen this movie once before, many years ago, and didn't care for it as much as the sequel RETURN TO PEYTON PLACE, because I liked the cast in the second film much better. But this time around I am really enjoying PEYTON PLACE and it's cast (one of which I have interviewed)...although that Lee Phillips sounds a lot like Mickey Mouse sometimes.

I gave up on the Zachary Scott film, despite its being directed by Terence Fisher.  Too convoluted and pointless - I did last up until about ten minutes before its ending, but by that time I figure I'd seen what I needed to see.

Now am on to The Illustrated Man, which I've never seen all the way through.  Or, maybe The VIPs.

I think the only time I ever saw THE ILLUSTRATED MAN was a showing on the CBS Late Night Movie.  It was cut to less than 90 minutes and I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Ok, picture this....it's December 30, I'm in IOWA and it's been RAINING for 2 days...not snow, not sleet, not freezing rain and not even hail....RAIN... It's the strangest thing. We haven't had snow yet and it's almost balmy out. Crazy

Re The Illustrated Man - I seem to recall that movie (in the movie theater) as the first time I'd ever seen male rear nudity, first in the opening credits and then at a pivotal spot with Rod Steiger during the film.  i was taken aback when the opening credit "moment" was cut from the movie when it was shown on TV - it seemed so integral to the plot.  :)

If you're a David Hyde Pierce fan, he's wonderful in Curtains http://www.curtainsthemusical.com/, he has the lead and I think it's a perfect role for him.

We have a winner!

ABC had a marathon evening of UGLY BETTY, which I had never seen because of the Thursday NBC lineup.  I'm now hooked.  I love this series!

And now to bed/

Got my hair cut today.

Looks nice!

I had my eyes examined yesterday, several years overdue. This was my token nod to those people who think I should have my head examined.

I watched the first episode of UGLY BETTY back in September and it didn't grab me.  I should give it another try.

Edi, I thought you were a DHP fan. The show is light - one of those you just go to laugh at. It's the last Kander and Ebb and Rupert Holmes wrote the book.

I think Hugh Jackman takes his shirt off in the second act during the fight scene with Jud. I haven't seen it in awhile, but I seem to remember THAT unless my imagination is even more vivid than I thought.

DR edisaurus - Are the dates you listed for your trip to NYC in March?  If so, I'd advise you to get a jump on procuring theatre tickets sooner than later.  That's prime time for high school and college spring trips to The City.  -And if you haven't booked a hotel room either...

I remember seeing the Illustrated Man when it was released. I remember Rod Steiger's tail...

Watched some interesting things on TV tonight.

I began with the Blu-ray disc of ENEMY OF THE STATE. It's a conspiracy chase movie a la THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR, and though there are lapses in plotting and some inconsistent characterizations, I just took the ride and enjoyed it.

The Blu-ray transfer is very good, but not quite the reference quality of THE SEARCHERS or FANTASTIC 4.

I will probably stay at Peter's---and our opening is March 23rd at the Quad Cinema:

http://www.quadcinema.com/static/quadcinema/coming.php

but I will be coming up for a day or two around our Boston opening on Jan 17th.

Here's a show you couldn't PAY me to see:

I think it's already closed...

Several of us here are BIG fans of UGLY BETTY. I think it's the year's best new comedy.
