Sounds as if MR BK's was fun as well.

And they now have a Practice Brain....I think that's my new philosophy....this is just my Practice Brain - I will do better when my Pratical Brain is installed.

I watched THE INVISIBLE BOY which is part of the new FORBIDDEN PLANET dvd....cheap movie....the home set is ridiculous....but the electronic brain is impressive and of course Robby.  I remember seeing the commercials for this movie on TV and we couldn't WAIT to see it!!

Hmmmm.....I think the first Paul Newman movie I paid to see was the terrible SECRET WAR OF HARRY FRIGG....

But my favorite performances are FROM THE TERRACE, THE YOUNG PHILADELPHIANS, THE TOWERING INFERNO, and WINNING.

Dr. Gupta on CNN just had a report on the health benefits of happiness.  He says the happiest category is men between 60 and 69.  

Least happy:  men between 20 and 29.

I am fairly certain that the first Paul Newman movie I saw was WHAT A WAY TO GO! I know that I saw it at the drive-in on its initial release, and I can remember Mum couning Ms. MacLaine's costume changes.  Recently I played the dvd for Mum and she laughed out loudly several times, having a ball watching it.

In response to DR tomovoz' query late last night, there is not a nod anywhere that I could think of to anything Burt Bacharach in CASINO ROYALE; but the visual nod to DR. NO (seen in the trailer) is amazing.  :o

The first Newman film might have been The Silver Chalice. I believe it was from the ABC affiliate in Poland Springs Maine that when I was a kid had a 90 minute time slot friom 9-10:30 that had movies. It was also there I first saw A Star is Born with Garland and they started the movie with Esther and Norman going to her film premiere! (Now they may have shown the first part the day before but I didn't see that)

But the first film that I am pretty sure that I saw of Newman's was The Cincinatti Kid and that was TV.

First film I saw in the theaters was Buth Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, but I think I was more impress that  "Lurch" from the Adams Family was in it. (Hey I was a kid back then)

First Paul Newman movie I saw: Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid. They screamed the word "shit" when they jumped off the cliff. That was a big deal back then!

Favorite movies: Judge Roy Bean, The Sting, From the Terrace, Fat Man and Little Boy, The Hudsucker Proxy ("You know, for kids"!)

We've gotten now to late fall with temperatures getting ever-colder. It's beautiful out, but nippy just as you'd expect it to be in November. Perfect fall weather.

I did break down and buy the new version of SOUTH PACIFIC through DD's sale this week. Today, I want to watch the film with the commentaries on the various versions of the film. I suspect the actual soundtrack will be the same as on the previous disc, so I'm more interested in the picture quality and what Ted Chapin, Gerard Allesandrini, and Richard Barrios have to say about it.
