Of course, Sophie would have loved Chicago and wished she could have gotten away with saying sh*t on stage.

Page three will NOT do, oh, no, it will not do.  I'm quite hungry, so I suppose I should get something in my gaping maw.

QUESTION FOR BK:

Do you happen to remember if I preordered Illya Darling?  I think I did, but I'm not sure.

Hello ArnoldMBrockman.

Hello everyone.

Since everyone was speaking of laundry earlier, mine is also done.

Dear Mark,

For the Henry Diltz link, I knew most of the photos, it was a nice journey down memory lane for me.

Thank you.

I had a nice dinner from The Olive Garden.
Matt is on his way over for a little songfest.
I have been asked to sing next Sunday's church service, once again with "Because He Lives" (solo; albeit in a higher key this time around) and "The Day He Wore My Crown" (also in a high key) as a duet with our minister.

Since it's a relatively slow news day, here's a parody of the Ford-Cryer song "Old Friend" inspired [for want of a better word!] by the absence of an archive on All that Chat, causing people to have to save "Old Threads" if they think they may ever wnat to refer to them in the future.

A song parody from I'M GETTING MY ATC TOGETHER & STORING IT ON MY DRIVE

Last weekend as I lost another lover
I looked at an old thread
My mind wandered while Jim’s packing
“Did the chat find Wicked lacking?”
Perhaps I should have thought of Jim instead

There’s a thread right here on Susan Watson's Laurey
Where folks admired her every limb
And Jim wonders why I kept it
When we moved I even shlepped it
Now I’m missing all the times I shlepped with Jim

And I sit at my desk and muse till two
On theatre lore as old threads do
We told each other 'til we turned blue
How much we care for Audra's range
How Betty’s great, but sometimes strange

Here’s a thread I think was started by Tesori
Before Millie put her on the map
And now I’ll go peruse a
Response in which LaChiusa
Informed the board he’s reading all their crap

Shaiman writes here, and Marx does too
And when they don’t, old threads will do
They bring back mem’ries as if they’re new
How Groundhog Day might really sell
And Perfect Crime should rot in hell

And I wonder if there'll ever be an archive
My printer now is very nearly blown
And my new love lies there dozing
He can’t care less what's closing
So I guess I'll read the chat board on my own

But I'll keep threads 'til I'm ninety-two
No love gives joy as old threads do
They tell us always what we've been through
With posts of cheer, or posts of rage
One thing’s clear, we love the stage

How we care, Audra’s range
Betty’s great, sometimes strange
I love my old threads

Jane and Jennifer - When i was growing up in Brooklyn, we definitely did the thing where the host hid the matzah, the kids then found it and hid it, the host then made a half-hearted attempt to find where the kids hid it, and then the kids got a gift in exchange for returning it.

We're in Austin...a day early.

Seems that the La Quinta Inn in Fredericksburg, TX, has different pet rules that all the other hotels in that chain.  They don't allow cats, and only let you have 1 dog.  [We have 2 dogs/1 cat.]

So, we had to drive an extra 2 hours to Austin, where we are staying at a La Quinta.

Go figure!

How is today different than any other day?

Today I was doing my DR JOSE imitation by suddenly playing for auditions!  I only had about 25, and two of those sang without accompaniment - or timing I might add.

I know we are doing KISS ME KATE, but why would someone choose to sing BIANCA, when he has obviously never heard it before?  He was singing from the chorus book and I was playing from the piano/conductor's score - but he wasn't singing what I was looking at.....oh well.  Of course we had "This Is My Beloved" and and wild tempo version of "Cockeyed Optimist" and a song from THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, and something like "He Was Nailed to the Cross" - which I think is perfect material for a musical audition.  I am thinking of using it myself.

Sunday evening greetings!  I've had 2 round trips to Cincinnati today - first with Richard for church, then with a load of stuff we'd been storing for a friend of Rob's & Mary Linda's.  She's back on campus now after a co-op quarter and my Vibe was required to carry her book cases and art supplies.  Rob & ML drove up here, loaded the stuff, and then I drove my car and Rob drove his to Cincinnati.  Then I drove my car back home.  Then I took a nap.

We have found it best to confirm the pet rules.  Many hotels that say pets are ok have a weight limit of around 50 pounds, even La Quinta's.

I remember during one move smuggling 2 large dogs, 1 cat & 2 gerbils into a hotel. ;D
