When I finally finished watching everything on the Blu-ray, I checked out today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Yes, Reid and Luke were on and tearing into one another verbally. By the end of the hour, they were in full lip lock and ready to do the deed. Tomorrow should be interesting.

TCM was showing SHADOW OF THE THIN MAN tonight, but I just rewatched that fairly recently, so I pulled out SONG OF THE THIN MAN, the last of the series, and watched it. Always enjoyable with that terrific stable of MGM stars and character actors.

Good Evening!

So... I met some friends for a Cinco de Mayo dinner at a Mexican restaurant on the Upper West Side.  By the time we got there, there was a bit of a wait, but since one member of our party was running late, it actually all worked out.  -At least in regards to getting seated.

Once seated, we noticed that the sound level in the place was much louder than usual. We also noticed that they had taped in a special Cinco de Mayo menu into and over the regular menu pages.  There were no special Cinco de Mayo dishes, however, there were a couple of special Cinco de Mayo prices. Some items were priced $5-8 higher than normal. The guacamole which is normally priced at $8 was now $12, and their House Nachos went from $10 TO $16(!?!?!?)...

After a couple of knowing nods, we got up and left, and headed for a cozy little taqueria a few blocks away. Muy bueno!

Someone just said if Advil is helping the discomfort that much even teemporarily, it's likely not carpal tunnel.  This is good news, but I can't find it confirmed anywhere.

DR FJL - Carpal tunnel is more an "internal-nerve-related" condition, and meds such as Advil and Tylenol only help relieve the pain that comes from inflammation that comes from "outer-nerve-related" pain.  If you're really feeling much better after a standard dose of Advil... Have you considered that it might be arthritis?

MR BK if you can plan to ship a box of books for the Indiana signing - when the time comes....they can come to my sister's bookstore and then if we don't sell them, we can ship them back to you.

i will talk to Dawn more about the plans when you have a date.

DR JRand - It's not a Mac issue. It's a formatting/code issue.  You need to use ()'s not []'s for the s: signing(s).

I'm heading downstairs to bed, too. It was late when I finally turned the light off last night, and I'm very tired now.

Good night!

OH! And my friend, Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs got called in late this afternoon to cover Tosca in Tosca tonight at The Met!  I'm currently listening to her and the rest of the cast - Bryn Terfel and Jonas Kaufmann - via The Met's website. :)

If it was carpal tunnel, you'd be feeling something constantly, basically a dull ache with bouts of sharp pains and/or a "pins and needles" feeling. If the pain and discomfort just flares up from time to time, well... My guess would be arthritis, and with the change in temps and humidity over the past couple of days, well...

OH!

I just heard the end of the broadcast - as well as received a call from a friend who was able to race down to The Met tonight...

She found out she was going on tonight basically at the last minute - at 7:59! Daniela Dessė called out at the last moment due to a cold.  -And her co-stars for tonight's performance were actually Marcello Giordani (Cavaradossi) and George Gagnidze   (Scarpia).  Brava!!
