Good Evening!
So... I met some friends for a Cinco de Mayo dinner at a Mexican restaurant on the Upper West Side. By the time we got there, there was a bit of a wait, but since one member of our party was running late, it actually all worked out. -At least in regards to getting seated.
Once seated, we noticed that the sound level in the place was much louder than usual. We also noticed that they had taped in a special Cinco de Mayo menu into and over the regular menu pages. There were no special Cinco de Mayo dishes, however, there were a couple of special Cinco de Mayo prices. Some items were priced $5-8 higher than normal. The guacamole which is normally priced at $8 was now $12, and their House Nachos went from $10 TO $16(!?!?!?)...
After a couple of knowing nods, we got up and left, and headed for a cozy little taqueria a few blocks away. Muy bueno!
