VixMom, did you ever hear what happened with those people?

Yes.  They finally moved out 7 days after the closing leaving behind 39  of those large lawn trash bags full of rubbish on the front lawn, as well as  a broken trampoline and a broken swing set in the rear yard.

The borrowers are also business contacts so we got to hear the followup.  They were less than pleased as you may imagine.

Sorry to read about your back pain, DR TCB. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. Oh, I've been down in my back more than once in the last five or six years, and it's for me always a slow area to heal.

I'll be thinking the good thought for you.

So sorry to read about Brock Peters. I always found him talented and very appealing.

RESCUE ME, after a couple of weeks of good-hearted episodes, returned to the horrific tonight with a couple of gripping storylines and a shocking conclusion to tonight's episode.

I was pleased to see the show has been renewed for a third season.

And I certainly enjoyed the last hour and a half of THE RAZOR'S EDGE. I had forgotten how the Anne Baxter storyline played out. Clifton Webb still to me was the most memorable character in the piece.

So, I guess it will be THE BARKLEYS OF BROADWAY for me tomorrow unless something stupendous comes in the mail.

Once again, I forgot to post my reminder early this morning about RENO 911! coming on tonight. West Coast fans still have time to catch it. For East Coasters, I believe Comedy Central repeats the show at midnight or at some early hour of the morning.

Is that really Patti Lupone, DR Jason, or is it an actress from FORBIDDEN BROADWAY mimicking her?

Speaking of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, I have not yet bought the latest FB CD: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT. How does it rate in comparison to the others in the series?

DR Jason - Since the walking tour is on the second day of Rosh Hashanah, can't you tell your boss you've become an observant Jew?  Just a thought.  :)

And about that other LuPone - brother Robert. When I saw the 1976 TOnys at the Museum of TV and Radio a few weeks ago and saw Robert Lupone dancing spectacularly in the opening number of A CHORUS LINE, it reminded me that in the two different productions of A CHORUS LINE that I've done, non-dancing actors were cast as Zach, and the actor playing Larry danced along with the rest of the group. I always found that really lame.

House #1, DR JMK.  Think of the room for expansion of the Frances Farmer collection - and the rehearsal space for your upcoming projects AND the piano in the basement.  AND it's an investment - the money you put in, is the money you put in - nothing else to add to make it ready for you.

Remodeling and re-doing and changing and adding on - isn't your schedule, and Betsy's, already too FULL to add a LOT of those projects?

House Number One.  It's an investment.

Yes, that is really La LuPone in a promotional poster for her role as Cora Hoover-Hooper in Ravinia Festival's production of ANYONE CAN WHISTLE, which happens tomorrow night. I think it's hilarious, and what I love most about it is that she isn't taking herself so seriously. Here's a larger version:

The Razor's Edge is one of my favorite books!  The movie (and the remake) is not a patch on its philosophy - but Tyrone, Gene, Clifton, Anne, John, and Herbert make it a wonderful trip.  Lucile Watson is also charming as Webb's sister.  Tierney has some marvelous scenes, and her treachery toward Baxter has rarely been matched.....  "like listening to music by moonlight...."

I remember that The Hot Rock was such a flop that MAD magazine did a movie spoof called The Cute Rook - and in the next issue, most of the letters were from people who didn't know what movie they were offering a parody of!

She's a drag queen, baby!

I have the "new" FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: SVU recording. The show is much funnier in the theatre, but translates fairly well to disc. It's nowhere near as brilliant as the first three recordings, though. Or BK's very own FORBIDDEN HOLLYWOOD.

My DVD store hasn't gotten Adam 12 yet - they know I'm looking for it.  Moorpark and Bellingham - Mr. Earl Holliman lives one block from there, and I live three blocks from there.

Had a lovely dinner meeting with Tammy, her mother, and our producer, Missy.  We're all feeling very good about Missy, who is very focused, very professional, very organized, and already on top of things.

Brush up your Yiddish...
Start learning it now...

Would you believe it? In an office full of theatre queens, there are only three Jews in the joint (they own and/or run the place), so work goes on as usual. And if you can imagine THIS (!): the gay to straight ratio is nearly 50/50. In a MUSICAL THEATRE OFFICE! What's the world coming to??

Good Evening!

As DR Jason recounted - Lunch, and then a movie.  Lunch was good, and the movie was fun too.  I thought about 10 to 15 minutes could have been trimmed from "The 40-Year Old Virgin", but it redeemed itself in the end.  The "finale" of the movie totally comes out of left field and is very fun and funny.

Otherwise, it was a gorgeous day here in NYC, and I had a wonderful time walking around in the cooler temps.

Now, I'm just hanging with my roomies watching "So You Think You Can Dance?" courtesy of the DVR.  Fun, fun, fun.

Sorry, to hear about Brock Peters.  Don't know if anyone remembers, but he was also involved in a car accident in my neighbourhood about a month or so ago when in backing up to turn around (he was at a party at Ron Glass's house), his car went over the curb and down a rather steep hill, turning over.

On the way back from our business manager's today (and after receiving very good news), The Lovely Wife and I stopped at BK's favourite neighbourhood DVD store, Heavy Rotation, on Ventura.  While I scoured DVDs, TLW scoured the CD's and immediately picked out two she wanted. Colette Collage and After the Party.  I showed here that the two she had picked had both been produced by our chum, BK, something she hadn't even noticed when she chose them.  Played the Schmidt/Jones Colette.  Very nice!  I picked up TEAM AMERICA which we are now about to watch.

I like it a lot, too!  I actually loaned my copy of the BK produced CD of Forbidden Hollywood to my boss and he really liked it.  He wants to listen to all of the others...which I do have. ;D
