I'll be glad to answer your question, DR Arnold Brockman, but don't we want to save these suggestions for the topics of others days?

I began my afternoon of viewing with last night's season finale of THE TUDORS. Henry meets Katherine Howard in this, and Cromwell meets his maker. Cheers to James Frain for a wonderful performance as Cromwell in this episode. Very emotional at the end.

Then I watched my work project for the day - VALKYRIE. It was a very entertaining and illuminating historical drama. I only knew a little of the story, so much of it was brand new to me. And like '1776,' even though we know the ending the plot, it doesn't negate the entertainment value at all since half the fun is getting to the end with all of the various twists and turns of fate. First rate cast, and all of the different accents didn't bother me at all.

There are two commentaries, but I'm saving them until after I go back down. Instead I immediately began watching the bonus featurettes. I got five complete ones watched and was in the middle of the sixth one when it was time to come upstairs. I'll complete them when I go back down as well.

I got my shipping notice for THE CLOSER's fourth season set this morning, but I went ahead and set the DVR to record tonight's rerun of the show, so I'll watch it and MEDIUM tonight starting around 9:30.

More TOD - I just put one of my favorite cook-out specialties in the oven - baked beans.  Actually, it's just Campbell's Pork & Beans, doctored up with brown sugar, molasses, catsup, mustard, and hotdog relish.  I got this recipe from a friend of my Mom's almost 40 years ago.  For just Richard and myself, I'm making a small batch, but if you invite me to a cook-out, I'll make a double or triple recipe!

1 28-oz can Campbell's Pork & Beans
2 T brown sugar
1/4 C molasses
1/4 C catsup
1 t mustard
1 t hotdog relish

Put bacon slices on top, bake at 375o for 1 hour & 15 minutes.

(The original recipe calls for one small onion chopped, but we don't cook with onions in our house...)

My mother did NOT have a sister named Ruth.

Nor did mine. In fact she had no sisters at all. She didn't have any brothers either. She was an only child.

We are back from a lovelier than lovely time on Long Island. We ate and visited and slept and I bought a television pass through box and a new antenna. I will hook them up on June 13th and see what kind of stations and pictures we get and if we get enough channels then goodbye Time Warner Cable!

I don't have a photo of my dad in the service.  It was after WW II and before Korea.  He played the trombone at Ft Dix, NJ

Enough about Ruth, what about Naomi?

(Is that indeed an Electric Company reference?)

It could be a biblical reference.

We watched the HBO Grey Gardens this weekend. I really liked it, although I didn't need the end scene that ran under the credits.

Love all the military photos!

And of course the one of Master Lawrence, as well.

Betsy's middle name is Ruth.

STAR TREK was quite enjoyable, IMHO.
