Yikes, mini-frenzy -- DR RonnieP will be rolling his eyes when he hits this patch of gratuitous posts .... hey I'm trying to hit 4500 (which hasn't been easy when you're E and T like me)

A "treatment" is a short outline (or a long outline) of the story that will end up being a full-length screenplay.

I've showered and shaved and also shaved and showered and will shortly be on my way to Ripley-Grier for a rehearsal, after which I may head over to Academy Records for a few minutes.  Prior to FJL's do, I may meet up with someone for a drink.  We shall see.

Time to give Deuce his morning walk, make my smoothie and be off to the theatre --

(a few last minute things to check on prop and costume wise -- last night was the first run through with full costumes and full props and it was really throwing me off so I need to walk through some of my scenes on the stage with an empty house -- some quick costume changes and a butt-load of props that I take off and on stage constantly -- one of those roles that's a "pat your head, rub your belly and be able to chew gum all at the same time" type part -- gotta be able to work those props, have those lines and character down, project, and disguise my dang Texas accent since Ester ain't from Texas! A lot to remember for this little old noggin -- good golly, how I do go on -- TMI! ).

LOVE that lamp, Mikey -- and the tulips. Is most of your decor retro?

My whole home is retro!

And it looks great.

Thanks, bk. What's its purpose -- how is it used in the industry? I've heard people refer to a "treatment" so I was just wondering what that meant. Do the writers submit those instead of a script first or what? How does that work?
