Looks like there were photos:

Ah, yes, the stairway to the balcony at the Alex Theater, I remember it well.

I can remember when the walls were painted a terrible, Regan-spitting shade of green.  The restoration turned out well.

I believe Cason is wearing Solid Silver Platform Shoes, in Mr. Schwartz's honor - that's why he looks so tall.

Just read that child star Sonny Bupp passed away yesterday. In a career that spanned the years 1934 to 1943 he appeared in almost 70 movies, including CITIZEN KANE (as Charles Foster Kane III) and working with the Three Stooges.

Sonny & his older brother Tommy were busy children.
Sonny was the highest paid male child actor in 1937, pretty good.
With his death, he may have bee the last known living member of either the cast or crew of Citizen Kane.

This is the dogwood at my old house on South Avenue in the spring. I think of this tree as an example of "skillful transformation"---when life smashes you with a big catastrophe, sometimes you can emerge, not only unscathed, but actually stronger and more beautiful than you ever could have imagined.

I often think of it when I'm going through difficult times and it helps me get past the present turmoil and look towards what will hopefully be a better future.

I wish I could relax and revel, unfortunately dealing with this last financial crap is killing me - I've got a ton of people waiting to be paid and I cannot do so until we get our final funding check, and it looks like that's a week away and it's just driving me nuts.  I hate this stuff.

Patrick Cassidy, Shirley Cassidy, David Burnham and Rex Smith all sang on the BK produced "Lerner, Loewe, Lane & Friends.  The Amazon listing has sound clips. :)

I look like a beached whale in that really wide pic.  I'm fine in the other, so maybe it's the angle, he said wishing it were so.

One day - that's all I want - one day without this merde.  I just took a hot shower and even that didn't work as well as it usually does.

You do NOT look like a beached whale.

But tucking your shirt in would have looked better.  Sorry.

The mac and cheese, Horn and Hardart style, is in the oven.

I'm not entirely sure.  When I poured the whole thing into the baking dish, it all looked a little soupy.  Of course, the recipe also called for stirring the cheese, macaroni, and milk mixture together without melting the cheese in the milk, so that should thicken things.

I'm hoping this turns out OK.  It would be nice to ship a serving to BK... although, I'm not sure how that would work with the US Postal Service, it might not be that great an idea.

It should be noted that the book on the Four Seasons restaurant that arrived yesterday contains no recipe for mac and cheese.

And the place claims to be the ultimate American restaurant.   ::)

Hmmm... the mac and cheese does, indeed, seem to be thickening.

And browning on top.

I think a few more minutes should do it, then a few minutes to cool.

The steak will cook nicely in that time, and the spinach sautees in less than a minute.
