CRACKED

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were cracked, and now it is time for you to post until the cracked cows come home - they're currently eating cracked crab and playing Yahtzee.

Funny, yesterday and a few days before that we got to exactly 391 postings, but couldn't make the simple feat of nine more posts.  Why?  WUSSBURGERS, that's why.

ASK BK:

When films like The Faculty appear on my digital cable service as nocharge-on Demand shows, do you see $$$ associated with every viewing, or does Comcast just kick in a generic monthly licensing fee for all films that gets divvied up somehow?

I was listening to The Manhattan Transfer sing "Snootie Little Cutie" from their TV show in the 1970s!  Someone has a fansite for Laurel Massé (founding member and original soprano) and he posts videos of their 4-episode summer replacement TV show and I'm making audio recordings of them!  That's my excuse story. ;D

I'm sure it's an overall fee that gets divided up.

Lifted from a God Hates Fags site,:
Quote
"Suffering is one very long moment. We cannot divide it by seasons. We can only record its moods, and chronicle their return. With us time itself does not progress. It revolves. It seems to circle round one centre of pain."
--Oscar Wilde (reformed homosexual)

So What is This About?

One of the most dangerous ways homosexuality invades family life is through popular music. Parents should keep careful watch over their children's listening habits, especially in this Internet Age of MP3 piracy.

Bands to watch out for

The Spores
Scissor Sisters
Rufus Wainwright
...
Bjork
...
Cole Porter
...
The Pet Shop Boys
Metallica
Judas Priest
The Village People
The Secret Handshake
The Rolling Stones
David Bowie
...
Madonna
Elton John
Barry Manilow
Indigo Girls
Melissa Etheridge
Eminmen
Nirvana
Boy George*
...
Frank Sinatra
...
Clay Aiken
...
Elton John(really gay)

When did Oscar Wilde reform?

Frank Sinatra!!!!!!!!!!!

And if you go to the Safe Bands link, Cyndi Lauper is considered safe!  Didn't she have the biggest hit ever about masterbation??  Granted, that's not about homosexuality, but still!!

And Kansas? GHF obviously doesn't consult the Wikipedia:

Kansas began to fall apart in the early 1980s. Kerry Livgren became a born-again Christian, and this was reflected in his lyrics on the next three albums, beginning with Audio-Visions (#26). Dave Hope soon converted to Christianity as well, and it became obvious to Walsh that Kansas was moving in a different creative direction.  Walsh was replaced by vocalist John Elefante, also a born-again Christian, who along with his brother Dino, later became known for producing albums for Christian rock bands Petra, Bride, Rick Cua, and Guardian.

The record generated the band's first top twenty hit in several years with "Play the Game Tonight" (#17), and the album's overtly Christian lyrics attracted an entirely new audience of evangelical Christians, who used lyrics from the record in religious tracts handed out after Kansas concerts.

Kerry Livgren was holding some of his best material back due to more explicit Christian content, intending to save them for his second solo album...  etc...

ASK BK DAY QUESTION

When you rereleased Subways Are For Sleeping; the bonus tracks consisted of demos written for the show. Did you try to get the rights to the McGuire Sisters recording of the show as they sung some of the songs that were dropped from the show?

Someone associated with some associated with that show wrote a book called AFTERNOONS WITH LUCY that I liked.

Good morning, all! And a special good morning and thanks to DR Jose, who came over yesterday to help me with my MySpace page and then went home and started his own!  Good for you.  Yes, it was a surprise this morning.

I have coffee at 11  with my friend John Margulis, and then an afternoon finishing Act Two of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.

BK, I'm glad you and Mr Jones spoke.  He's a good fellow.

Wednesday morning greetings!  It was a little slippery on the roadways this morning, but I go to work with no problems.

Guilty as charged, BK!  Going out to live entertainment events 2 weeknights in a row really puts a dent in my time for visiting here.  The concert last night at Miami University was excellent - Men's Glee Club and Cantus.  It was past my bedtime when we got home.

DR Jose,

When an item appears on the IKEA website and says that you have to buy it from the store, but then you check the local store's inventory and it's not in stock, are you S.O.L. or will they order it for you? If they order it, do you then have to pay their shipping charges?

DR Cillaliz, I haven't been on stage for a theatrical production, but I love it when I can sit on stage with an orchestra. Some halls, like the one in Toronto, are set up like that. I love to be able to see the conductor's face and read over the shoulders of the musicians!

DR Jose, thanks for the HGO FAUST production from Playbill.  Bill Burden is such a good guy!  I got to know him when he sang the Doctor on the complete MOST HAPPY FELLA recording with Emily Loesser.  I had seen him at City Opera and recommended him for the role.  His beautiful (vocal and visually) wife Carol played Dory in the Utah production of GREENWILLOW that I worked on.  Bill came to the opening night performance.  He just played Candide at the Paris Opera with my friend Kim Criswell.

How many names can I drop in one paragraph??????

I'm getting very frustrated with someone at the tax office who is a constant "Tag you're it" specialist, sending an email for something and assuming it's been completely passed on to someone else (for example, me), and not even bothering trying to get the info to make the assignment possible.  This is someone new to our office, but who has been with the office we merged with for years and years - I'm amazed this has been acceptable, unless it's just a matter of this person testing what can be gotten away with in our new combined office.
