Well those clowns over at TOP CHEF threw a curve to the audience and I have switched off the show and will not watch it again.

It will join SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE in my list of "will not watch again" thank you very much.

DR JRand - I still have yet to watch tonight's episode of "Top Chef", but from the Twitter stream it looks like you could have kept on watching.

Next, I watched the AMERICAN IDOL results show (skimmed through it).

The guys weren't surprises though I was naturally disappointed Rickey didn't get voted through (the voters going for the more obviously showcased other guys). A small surprise with the girl getting through even though I much preferred her to Tatianna.

While I was waiting for more IDOL to happen (I caught up to the live show eventually), I flipped over and watched some of the "squeegee" LOST episode from last week. Nothing earthshaking revealed in the pop-ups I read, but they are entertaining.

Tonight's LOST was another involving episode.

I have a feeling Eloise Hawking is going to provide us with many more answers in the season and a half we have left.

I enjoyed LIFE ON MARS, too,

with its WIZARD OF OZ/"Over the Rainbow" scenario. Just loved Jason O'Mara's tear sliding down his face near the end.

During commercial breaks for LOST and LIFE ON MARS (I was watching both of them "live"), I flipped over to watch the Jerome Robbins special in HD. I'll look forward to seeing the whole thing at some point over the next few days.

I'm not sure that this week, with my conflicted feelings on the death of former friend John McGlinn, was the perfect timing to see a musical about conflicted feelings over the death of a best friend, but The story of My Life was glorious, beautfully staged, acted, and designed. It was heartbreaking, funny, and there are two songs, one about a butterfly and one about a schoolteacher, that moved me to tears. Thank you, DR Jose, for the ticket!

DR elmore - You're most welcome. I shall be sure to pass on your Thanks along with mine to the general manager of the show who graciously provided me with the tickets for tonight's show.

*OH!  I did catch up briefly with Malcolm Gets after the show.  He sends his best, wants to know how you're doing, and he knows that he owes you an email.  ;)

I got home and read the program and my friend Lisa Shriver is the assistant director! I see that Mr Gets is doing an album with one of the wickedest queens in the business - pooey! So did you give him my email address again? He was really wonderful in the show. So was Will Chase.

Once again, I didn't get any review copies today (though I got the notice to start looking for the Blu-ray of BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA), so tomorrow looks to be another "free" day.

I knew I would miss the Robbins so I ordered the DVD. I loved LIFE ON MARS.

Thank you. I sent Lisa an email and I went to Facebook and sent Will a message. I couldn't find a Facebook page for Malcolm. The weird thing is, one of my best friends from college with whom I felt a lot of the friendship in the show reflected ours, sent me a friend request on Facebook today. Eerie!

LOL...DR JOSE.....if I change my mind....it will be on again....and again...and again....

Here is our dance selection for this evening.  It looks a lot like the show my sister and I used to dance in Indy.....but I never had the guts to wear saddle shoes with my suit.

Speaking of retirement, I am going this afternoon to be fitted for my new bifocals.  It is only a short step further to social security and retirement!   :)

I felt exactly the same way when I got bifocals for the first time. Never felt so old in my life.

I felt that way when I bought my present car, my first automatic transmission car. The 5 speed was over $1,000 more since no one wants to drive a 5 speed in Atlanta traffic and they would have had to import it.

My eyes are getting very heavy, so I'm going to head down to bed. Maybe an earlier bedtime will mean more sleep rather than simply waking up earlier tomorrow morning! Here's hoping.

Good night!

Speaking of Johnny Mandel, we're interviewing him, as well as Blake Edwards and Julie Andrews next week.

Since this is for the Johnny Mercer doc, my ask bk question would be: What would you ask Johnny Mandel about Mercer?

DR TCB:  walking pneumonia sounds pretty serious to me.   Or ANY kind of pneumonia.

I usually get it every December or January.  I guess I am a late-bloomer this year.  I suppose it comes from my 25 years of smoking.

It can also come from growing up in a smoking household.  My sister and I don't just get colds, we get upper respiratory infections/bronchitis/pneumonia.

Anyway - feel better vibes to DR TCB!!!

Both of my parents were chain smokers and we always took long driving vacations every summer where my mother would have the AC blasting in the front seat conveniently inundating us kids with her cigarette smoke and my dad's cigar smoke.  It's a wonder I'm not dead already.

Some comedian (Bill Hicks?) had a routine about this, and about how their parents would never take breaks except to gas up the car. He felt like his vacation was going to "Oxygenland", which is when he could get out of the car and breathe!

My new glasses/frames cost $800.00.

Insurance shaved off half.

Gee, with that new monocle you'll look like Mr. Peanut.

Maybe Monkey should have his own Facebook page

Monkey thought about it, but his "one paw" hunt and peck typing method took too much time.
