All HELL is breaking loose here as I speak, because the roofers are here doing what roofers do. It will be a couple of days of noise and chaos - or what seems to us mere mortals like utter chaos. Actually, it sounds like storms building up and mountains splitting apart, and I wouldn't be surprised if I heard the ten commandments thundering down at any moment.

This morning, Jeremy emailed me all of the Annabelle & Thatch illustrations. They're so wonderful I wept.

That's lovely to hear!

That Rod Hull and Emu dancing kids clip had unbelievable life-giving energy. Amazing.

I’ve gotten much done this morning. Bills paid. Houseplants to go to a friend’s house. A box of bird toys gathered.

Got the lineup for this year’s three-day ACL in Austin. I’ve heard of four acts, none of whom I want to see. So I guess I can save money by ignoring it.

The ballet is finished......Dream Curly est morte.....

Tonight I get to finish KANSAS CITY - unless the predicted severe thunderstorms/hail/possible tornadoes make their appearance.

I told my associate that I may not be there in that case and she said that is okay.

I took the four member of the KC number into the lobby and ran through the 48 measures of NEW combinations and they picked it up.  The director said we could make it up on Thursday if need be.

Well I must say that the Tammy Grimes CD is one of my new favorites!

Some lovely tunes that I had never heard before and some lovely versions of songs I know.

The Carpetbaggers.  I laughed when I read the tagline:

You will experience more in THE CARPETBAGGERS than you will in a lifetime......and of course now I realize it was true.

Apparently this amazing hotel has a little movie theater and serves popcorn.   Last night the classic movie for the evening was The Quiet Man.  Since it was filmed in this area we wanted to watch it.  Alas we simply didn't have time.  Of course we have seen the film many times.

Today we went into Gallway for a walking/eating tour. The only thing  we could/wanted to eat was a delicious lightly flavored salted caramel ice cream.

TOD:

At Long Last Love
The Wiz
Finian's Rainbow
Hello, Dolly!
New York, New York

Each of these flopsicals is better as a soundtrack, which is how I first encountered all but Finian.BK was right about The Wiz. Michael Jackson is really terrible in it. But I still watch it about once a year. I love Ted Ross, Mabel King and Nipsey Russell

Another bad movie that works better as a soundtrack is Xanadu.  I'll add that to my list.  I remember enjoying the movie for what it was, but the soundtrack is really good and I still love listening to it.

Today I purchased a plain green scarf that goes better with my hat and coat. It is incredibly soft and I will get much use out of it.
