Well, you've read the notes, the notes were peculiar, and now it is time for you to post until the peculiar cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EARNEST!
-
Notes experienced. Relished.
-
Always wanted to see the 10th Victim for it was based on a story by my fave sci-fi writer and writer in general, Robert Sheckley.
-
Tom Cruise, when is he not doing his Tom Cruise thing? He’s great in Tropic Thunder, I can watch those scenes again and again. I’ve never seen either Top Gun. But I did enjoy Val’s behind-the-scenes footage in his autobiographical film.
-
Hi
-
Kyoto was lovely
-
Topic of the Day:
Born on the Fourth of July
Edge of Tomorrow
Minority Report
Rain Man
Rock of Ages
Actually, these are all of the Tom Cruise movies that I've seen.
-
Hello, Jane! What time is it where you are?
-
Kyoto was lovely
Hooray!
-
5:00pm
-
DR Jeanne the nerve scraping sounds scary. I hope what you are currently doing helps with the pain.
-
Rodzinsky it is interesting about the pant colors and the previous owner of your home. We are currently watching the Battlestar Galactic reboot and are on the last season.
-
When the show first aired we stopped watching because of the actress you mentioned. Same goes for Longmore.
-
We are now ok with her in Battlestar and just saw her in a couple episodes of Mandalorian.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
We just passed our covid tests required to board the ship on Thursday.
-
We used our home kits and then photographed them to show as proof.
-
For extra proof beyond the time stamp we photographed them over papers from the hotel.
-
I am thrilled that it is all working out, DR Jane.
-
~~~CONTINUED HUGELY HUGE GIGANTOR MODERN MAJOR BIG OL' MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes of BK!!!!!
Thank you Singdaw.
Monday morning greetings! I fell asleep watching NCIS Los Angeles last night and must have forgotten to log out here.
Hi, DR Jane - Thank you for taking us along on your travels!
-
Hi, DR Jane - Thank you for taking us along on your travels!
DITTO!
-
Thankfully, HHW avoided this last night...
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept very well, but when the alarm rang at 5:30, I decided I had no real reason to get out of bed, so Annabelle and I went back for another hour of cuddles and dozes. I remember no dreams.
-
BK, your comment about that LA production of Sunday in the Park piqued my interest, since I remember no posts about the production. Was it not good?
-
I am getting quite impatient about my new accountant finishing my taxes. I am not happy.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
I'm going back to the ballet today. No. 22 is a long one.
Good morning, all.
I am not a fan of Tom Cruise
Ditto.
I don’t want to get up.
-
Weird dreams. I was editing a medical journal and they had a bizarre new footnoting process that didn’t make sense.
Hello
-
I am absurdly tired
-
Came home from WFO., reheated some stuffed peppers for dinner, and fell asleep while watching something Vixdad had put on the teevee
-
I can’t even remember what show it was
-
Woke up just before 10 and went to bed
-
And I’m still tired
I should never have said yes to playing a set of auditions this afternoon. Got too much else to work on. But it is what it is.
-
I am not a fan of Tom Cruise
Ditto.
Nor am I, but I liked The Firm.
-
Housekeeping will be finished when I make the bed and get back to the ballet, where I hear everything is beautiful.
She’s so helpful.
Maybe she could write a multi-volume tome on the subject.
And then it could be a musical.
DR John G, just wanted to make sure you saw my early-morning post about the marine biologist's memoir.
I just got an email from Martha Stewart about how to fold my socks the right way.
How did she know you weren't?
-
HA! I got distracted yesterday.
-
DR CHAS SMITH I hope someone sings Ciribiribin at your auditions. If not, remember it could always be worse.
-
DR JOSE is in Milwaukee with a Whitney Houston tribute show......I hope he takes time to have a Shotz beer and go bowling.
-
TOD:
.....
-
I guess Topic Thunder and maybe Born on the Fourth of July.
-
There was an audio problem with the videos we made.....the director had to use the audio from the phones we were recording with so it doesn't sound good.
I opted to redo three of the videos later in April, but since GREASY has its auditions this weekend, we have to use the video we have.
-
Nothing is as it seems.
Oh, the Hugh Manatee.
-
DR singdaw I enjoyed the cat on the aircraft carrier.
-
There's a man running for mayor of Indianapolis who is wearing a very nice toupee.
DR John G, just wanted to make sure you saw my early-morning post about the marine biologist's memoir.
Yes, thank you. Will look for it later.
DR John G, the memoir is Below the Edge of Darkness by Edith Widder.
The library has an audiobook. I grabbed it.
DR John G, just wanted to make sure you saw my early-morning post about the marine biologist's memoir.
Yes, thank you. Will look for it later.
I have developed quite a fascination with all of the women scientists who are mentioned in An Immense World.
I, of course, was fascinated by Donald Griffin, who worked with bats. I loved bats as a kid. I never knew that someone with my name had been a pioneer in the studies of their nature.
They have tried almost everything else as source material.
Crazy computer.
-
It has a mind of its own.
-
I remember watching a bit of The Tenth Victim many years ago, but I was beginning to feel like a victim so I didn't finish it.
-
elmore, many thought it was great, but people I trust really did not like it. It's the same thing that played Encores, directed by Sasha Lapine, so the band onstage and more like a concert - not for me.
-
I'm up, I'm up, six hours of sleep, was up at nine and proofing away.
-
On This Day in 47 BCE, the legendary Cleopatra, aided by her lover Julius Caesar, was reinstated as co-ruler of Egypt with her brother Ptolemy following a civil war with her other brother Ptolemy.
-
You really have to watch out for those Ptolemys.
-
I always do.
-
Oh the Hugh Manatee.
-
I blame Tiler Peck.
-
There once was a Pharaoh named Ptolemy,
Who tried, but could not get a hol' a me.
Left a message he said,
But I was in bed.
Avoidance was clearly the goal, Aimee.
-
That only works if you're saying it to someone named Aimee.
-
So clearly not my best work.
-
Clearly.
-
All of me might have worked slightly better.
Or All o’ me.
School shooting today in Nashville; three children killed. That should make gun-totin' Lauren Boebert happy.
These are words that should not be associated with Sunday.
School shooting today in Nashville; three children killed. That should make gun-totin' Lauren Boebert happy.
Very sad. And the shooter was supposedly a teen girl.
-
Clearly.
;D
-
We are crawling toward five.
-
Toiling in the vineyard, as it were.
But with not a drop to drink.
Drinking might help.
Slogging toward infamy.
Lounging toward destiny.
The new San Antonio Philharmonic is doing Barber’s Knoxville 1915 in April. I hope I can go.
DR ELMORE glad to hear about your blast from the past!
Difficult to watch the coverage from Nashville.
Love it!
-
The tune can't escape
If you don't eat that crepe.
-
When the show first aired we stopped watching because of the actress you mentioned. Same goes for Longmore.
Wow, she must really be charming!
-
We moved where we are to be closer to Mrs Rodzinski’s elderly parents, but another reason was to get our kids in Canadian schools and reduce by some factor the chances of them experiencing a school shooting.
-
Horrid that that has to be a consideration.
-
:)
-
Now that’s good economics, but awful bad for love.
-
An Alan Jay Lerner reference.
-
I just had what may be the single most disgusting lunch ever. I should have known better, but apparently didn't. When they opened the new Norm's in Encino everyone was soooo excited and I just kept thinking have these people ever eaten at a Norm's? Two years later - it closed, literally two days after I got stuff delivered from there. The appetizer plate wasn't bad so maybe they turned it all around. So, for 40% off I ordered a combo plate - steak, fried shrimp, chicken tenders, baked potato, salad, and soup.
-
Where do I begin? The steak looked like a piece of shoe leather and rather tasted like what I imagine shoe leather would taste like. I drowned it in ketchup and managed to eat the three-ounce thing. The fried shrimp were tiny be edible. The Chicken tenders, the same. Hard to ruin a baked potato and that was the best of it. The soup was a one-sip affair and while the 1000-Island dressing was pretty good, the wilted lettuce wasn't. What a waste.
-
I hope I don't vomit on the ground. I'm gonna take a one-hour break from proofing and try to sit this off.
-
I was thinking about eating dinner until I read MR BK's post. Now I'm not so hungry.
-
On CBS tonight at 8 p.m. is a salute to 50 years of The Young and the Restless for anyone who might be a fan.
-
Difficult to watch the coverage from Nashville.
I am glad to be avoiding the news right now.
-
These school shootings are very scary when your kid is a teacher.
-
I worry about the future of my grandkid.
-
We moved where we are to be closer to Mrs Rodzinski’s elderly parents, but another reason was to get our kids in Canadian schools and reduce by some factor the chances of them experiencing a school shooting.
How can they go to Canadian schools?
-
I hope I don't vomit on the ground. I'm gonna take a one-hour break from proofing and try to sit this off.
I can't imagine expecting edible food from Norm's ;D
-
Still Bruce, I am sorry your meal was so disgusting.
-
I was thinking about eating dinner until I read MR BK's post. Now I'm not so hungry.
;D
-
Basically we stayed in Osaka a few extra days to adjust to the time difference, see Nayara, and get our energy back before beginning the cruise.
-
Once again I woke up at 3:00 and am totally drained of energy.
Groceries attained.
I liked your haiku DR singdaw.....or whatever it was.
-
Google stock is down 2.83 in case anyone wants to buy or sell any.
-
Firefox thought it was important that I know that fact.
-
My, one can get so many things here on HHW. Advice, poetry, laughs, stock tips.
-
That could have been five posts!
-
I'm sure I could come up with many more items in that list.
-
But instead, I'm going to bed.
-
But at least we attained page six.
-
Good night, friends.
Another pie recipe longing to be made.
Had a nice dinner out. But I just can’t eat like I used to. I brought home half a burger and half of the truffled mac and cheese with sautéed mushrooms in it.
-
Good evening
-
It was a beautiful sunny day
-
At 5:01 it began raining
-
It was pouring by time I arrived home
-
Fortunately I had my trusty inverse umbrella in the car and avoided getting soaked
-
I had gone out at lunchtime today and noticed my gas light was on so stopped to fill up my tank
-
3.159/10 for regular
-
It cost nearly $52.00 to fill so my light must have been on for a while!
-
My gas gauge doesn’t work properly ever since some work was done under the hood by the new guy at my last mechanic’s..
-
When the tank is full the needle is way past the F and the low fuel light comes on when the needle is hovering somewhere near the 1/4 tank mark
-
We don’t go to that mechanic anymore
-
Rodzinski, I second Jane’s question, how are your children able to attend Canadian schools?
-
And congratulations on the fact that they can.
-
Tonight we had hamburgers for dinner
-
And a lovely long talk with the Vixter
-
I want a hamburger.
-
Tomorrow may be a shopping day - we shall see how I feel upon alighting on the morrow.
-
March 27.....for about 42 more minutes here.
Yikes!! :o
Good!
-
And a lovely long talk with the Vixter
Nice!
-
Rodzinski, I second Jane’s question, how are your children able to attend Canadian schools?
Vixmom and Jane. Because my wife was born in Canada we can as long as the school has room, though it costs like 6-8k per child per year. Still could if my wife was not born there, but would need special permits and such.
-
Must … get to page 8…
-
Need more posts!
-
Finished with my viewing, although I may watch something later.
-
The movie I chose was on Screenpix - I did a seven-day free trial and I have to say that this service is filled with movies I want to watch. It's only 2.99 a month if I don't manage everything in seven days. I saved about twelve things already and I will tell you that many of what I saved appears in Preview Harvey.
-
Now, get me off this damn page.
-
My girlchild is only in preschool a couple days a week. Next year, we hope she gets in the same school as our boy.
-
Screenpix, not to be confused with Screen Gems.
-
Or Colpix.
-
Both of which were related.
-
Colpix being short for Columbia Pictures.
-
Colpix-Screen Gems at times used as the full appellation.
-
Screenpix does seem affiliated with Sony aka Columbia Pictures.
-
Therefore perhaps this name was no coincidence.
-
And that’s….one to grow on.
-
Page 8, as if through a gate!
-
I got BK off the damn page, and he disappeared.
-
There’s a mall-like plaza within LAX. Seems new-ish, I dunno. But there’s a vertical screen with ads, about 3 stories tall. Then on the hour, it becomes a living clock. Well, the screen projects an intricate Busby Berkeley-style musical of several art-deco women dancing inside the workings of a clock. It lasts a couple minutes and is quite impressive. That’s what it did at 8am last Wednesday, anyway. Every hour could be different for all I know.
-
Looked it up, and the clock dancers have been around since 2013. Not new at all!
-
Where in the holy HELL is George?
-
Asleep again?
-
Down a rabbit hole again?
-
This is not right.
-
And it's not left.
-
He'll show up and sheepishly tell us something or other.
-
He is, after all, a George in sheep's clothing.
-
This is quite revolting.
-
And we're not that close to page nine.
-
I don't think I can get us there.
-
But who knows.
-
Stranger things have happened.
-
But I'm weary.
-
He'll show up and sheepishly tell us something or other.
I don't tell anything sheepishly!
-
I feel like Old Man River.
-
But I, like the song, just keep rolling along.
-
I was working on my music for Sunday in the Park With George.
-
Well, get some posts done.
-
Everyone knows the music for Sunday in the Park With You.
-
The real question is do I want a sandwich - anything to get the taste of Norm's out of my mouth and yes, it's still there.
-
Bleccch.
-
Today, I went to FedEx Office (formerly FedEx/Kinko's) to print the script and score from the PDF that was sent to us.
-
C'mon, we must really get to page nine.
-
Today I went nowhere.
-
Not even outside, save for one trip to the trash can.
-
One Trip to the Trash Can - that's the title of my next novel. It's trashy.
-
Page nine has arrived.
-
I went to one of the self-serve photocopiers and it's 17¢ a page to print.
-
BUT the PDF score that I have is 285 pages, which would cost me $48.45! :o
-
I could buy a brand new copy of the complete vocal score for literally that much!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
And then the script PDF that I have is another 132 pages, which would've cost another $22.44. :P
-
So, I didn't print them out at FedEx/Office.
-
I ordered a copy of the script from Amazon, and that'll get here on Wednesday.
-
But back in the 1990s, I actually bought the complete vocal score, so I looked for that in my house where I have a bunch of musical scores, but it wasn't there.
-
I had taken the pages out of the binding and put them in in a 3-ring binder, so I knew that it would be easy to spot, but I didn't spot it.
-
I knew that it must be in a box in my storage unit.
-
So, I went to my storage unit and started looking through boxes...half my storage unit was boxes of my stuff.
-
I went through almost every box, and I actually found it!
-
It was literally in the next to the last box, but it was there, and still, of course, in the 3-ring binder!
-
You are a busy boy.
-
Hoo and Ray!!
-
Boy George.
-
Switching to the new topic.
