I don't think we in Studio City have any choice but Time Warner.  I tried to get DSL through AT&T years ago, but we're right on the cusp where the service is too weak to work correctly.

I watched Louisiana Hayride, too.  I loved Judy Canova and we always watched her movies on TV when we were kids.  She sang a couple of great songs last night.....that I had NEVER heard before....my favorite  was "You Gotta Go Where the Train Takes You."  LOL....

The script certainly showed that it had some radio writers in on it....but I still laughed at the jokes....and Judy's great delivery.

Judy's mother, Minerva Urecal comes out of the house.....the two man approach her:

Man:  Good morning, madam.  I couldn't help noticing you have a big piazza.

Minerva:  What??!!!!

Man:  The big stoop out in front of the house.

Minerva:  Oh, well, Junior kinda slow, but he's all right.

I remember Stanley Myron Handelman - who did become tiresome.  We had a board game called Comedians (I think) where you negotiated contracts for famous comics....he may have been one of them.  I do know that Myron Cohen and Sam Levinson were in there.

Beautiful weather today.

I watched the first part of REPO THE GENETIC OPERA last night....on DVD....it is most intriguing.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Donna Jean Young was a comedienne who was on Merv Griffin quite often.  She joked about coming from East Mckeesport, Pennsylvania....and was even Miss East East Mckeesport at one point.  She was so funny and always had the audience in stitches....and then......

I didn't know that Judy Canova played Mammy Yokum in a Li'l Abner TV pilot!

I've mentioned him before, but one of the funniest comics I've ever seen anywhere in terms of having the audience screaming with laughter (me included) is Mal Z. Lawrence - he's never gotten to the top tier, but boy is he funny.

I think that pilot is included on the DVD of the musical film, no?

I loved Donna Jean Young.  I still remember some game show she was on where the question is "What do you do when you're feeling amorous?"  And she said, "I put on my negligee and go lie down in the driveway."

I thought that name was familiar so I looked her up--along with a stint on the original LAUGH-IN, she played Juanita in ON THE FLIP SIDE (I'm presumin' that she played Juanita of "Junita's Place".)

I had a 4;15 appointment to see my gallbaldder surgeon today but I have just been informed (via telephone)  that he has been called into surgery and that I will be seen by his nurse instead.

I understand they are going to remove my stitches

I got very behind and was about to do the long jog when I realized I wouldn't get back in time to make my lunch meeting at noon - so, it's quite cold out anyway, so I'm thinking tomorrow.

But then you can't use the holes for some body jewelry.

There's always tomorrow, Scarlet.

But it creeps in this petty pace from day to day.

For Jane:

PET AIRWAYS

Quote
New animal-friendly airline Pet Airways launched

A US company has launched the world's first pets-only airline dedicated to animal-friendly travel.

Pet Airways will cater for people who loathe the idea of their pets being stored in the cargo hold area during a flight by offering their pet-only service.

From July the new airline will fly dogs and cats in the main cabin of a turbo-prop Beech 1900 passenger plane which has furnishings such as the seats and bins removed, with animals placed in their private pet carriers and locked into a restraint system.

The plane can hold up to 50 dogs or cats. A pet attendant checks on the animals and makes sure they have regular toilet breaks during the flight.
