Jacques Brel is...(Alive & Well & Living In PAris)
Side by Side BY Sondheim
And The World Goes Round
Closer Than Ever
Marry Me A Little
Starting Here Starting Now
Gay 90's
Too Old For the Chorus
Putting It Together (Andrews & Burnett versions)
When Pigs Fly
Whoop Dee Doo

Sonheim & The Frank Loesser Songbook. Two revues I co-created and wrote the narrative for. The former was more successful

Do "jukebox" revues like Forever Plaid count?

Anyone in LA going to see the musical NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY?

BK produced the Broadway cast album and is one of my favorites

The "hidden" track is a hoot.

Saturday morning greetings!  I have an appointment for a haircut this morning and have to go to the library and the post office before or after.  It's another summery day here in SW Ohio.

TOD - I'm probably the only person on this board who had the privilege of seeing at least 2 editions of DR Elmore's revues back in the 1970's.  They were fun, fun, fun.

Is this show based on the Rod Steiger picture about a serial killer?

RE: "Ain't Misbehavin'"

Nell Carter, who starred in the Broadway version and (I believe) won a Tony, was briefly my publicity client when the show played Los Angeles.

Nice lady, but she had a lot of problems.

The antique and collectible realms should be buzzing - thanks to the double-dose of Sun and Moon in Taurus, following last night's dynamic Taurus New Moon. Everything connected to tangible assets and art objects is riding high and looking favorable. Enjoy gardening, planting routines and outdoor experiences to the hilt.

Get ready for the arrival of psychic and emotional thunderstorms tomorrow as Mars is approaching a highly volatile square to Pluto (exactly forming at 9:12AM PDT on Sunday).

Good morning, all! I have nowhere to go today and not much to do besides work, so that's my plan. I will continue to footnote my main report on Babes In Toyland and then work on either Loesser or Moross for a while.

I loved AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' and saw the original production twice. I saw JACQUES BREL . . . several times at the Village Gate as well as tours in Cincinnati and Philadelphia. Sometime in the early 1980s, I have a vague memory that Elly stone, Mort Shuman and two others did the show in the Lincoln Center bandstand. It's too vague now.

I believe I am going up to New Haven tonight to hear a performance of Bach's B Minor Mass on the Yale campus.  And I won't feel the effects of staying up past my bedtime because I have tomorrow morning off from church choir.  :)

Good morning!

Well, the heat wave that California experienced early in the week has now reached us. We're going to have mid-to-high 80s today and for the next five days with rain in the forecast only on Wednesday. Argh! Too early for temps in the 80s, that's for sure!

The only revues I have ever seen on the stage were really masterful ones: AIN'T MISBEHAVIN', SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM, and AND THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND.

I guess the movie of NEW FACES OF 1952 counts, and, of course, it's loads of fun.
