Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a trip, and now it is time for you to post until the trippy cows come home.

The first time I was ever in New York was in March 1977. I was in high school and was on a church trip to study apartheid in South Africa.  We met with a lot of people in DC then went to New York to meet with others and go to the United Nations.   We stayed at the YMCA that's close to the UN.

Let's see, we did a lot of touring, Statue of Liberty, saw The Wiz, went to the Rockettes Easter show, I can't remember what else we did as a group.   This was the trip that I told them Rupert Holmes was a friend of the family and they let me go to lunch with him.  So, the first time I met Rupert in person (we had been writing to each other for a couple months) was the first time I ever went to New York.

We had lunch at the Auto-Pub and he took me to the recording studio at the top of the Radio City Music Hall Building.  We've been friends ever since

I have been listening to the excellent new CD of the soundtrack for HOW TO MURDER YOUR WIFE, and the music makes me remember scenes and images from the film.....that I haven't seen in many years....but has some how been imprinted on my brain.

DR MBARNUM sent me a nice birthday present, a couple of episodes of Richard Denning as detective Michael Shayne....one of the episodes featuring Miss Allison Hayes in a couple of scenes and Miss Faye Spain in way TOO many scenes.

DR JMK - late of THE PRODUCERS - Encore Drama is showing WILL THERE REALLY BE A MORNING? several times this month....I caught a bit of it last night.  Susan Blakely is inadequate - but she really gets NO help from script or director....

In a nutshell. Got the cds this weekend

Listened to The Fortune Cookie because of Andre Previn first.
Who sings the Cole Porter song?

Started with Disc 1 of How to Murder Your Wife.

Track 1 was rather long for a main title for a film from the sixties (over 6 minutes) But I liked it,
Thought that track 2 had a Klezmer feel to it around 2:00 minute mark.

Hefti did not have a large out put as a film composer, but because of his work for Barefoot in the Park, The Odd Couple and Batman I decided to give this release  try.

-Most gyms are busy between 7:00am-9:00am - before people go to work. You should be fine at 9:30am.

TOD

1968 Easter. Visited my father's brother and his family, Stayed on Park Avenue. Looked like the apartment building used on the tv series A Family Affair. Was taken to Radio City Music Hall. Saw their Easter show and a terrible Disney movie called The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. That starred Jed Clampett, the TV Cinderella (2nd one. I didn't know about the first one as of yet) and  one of the Real McCoys. and the bald headed guy from The Dick Van Dyke Show. That's how I knew them and not by the real names.

Also in the movie was a future Walton, Regular Hollywood Square regular and a future host and Goldie Hawn's future partner and Edna Unger in the TV version of the Odd Couple

TOD 2

Didn't see any Broadway shows. Although I wanted to see Hello Dolly. I missed Carol Channing when she did it at Expo 67. And I believe Pearl Bailey was in the show at that time.

Also playing at that time were Golden Rainbow, How Now Dow Jones, The Happy Time, George M & Hair

First time in NYC saw the OBCs of Pippin and ALNM.  Had two offers I should have taken and passed up--a Movie of the Week was filming in Central Park and one of my uncles knew the director and said I could be a "go-fer" if I wanted.  Also the little remembered off Broadway musical "Smith!" (with Don Murray) had closed for a month or so and was trying to move to a bigger house (which it never did--it didn't reopen) and again my Uncles knew someone in the production and I could have gone to a pick up rehearsal and didn't (and I've been incredibly curious about that show ever since).  I did get to have lunch with movie producer Harrison Starr.

Oh, and as I've recounted here before, I did get to talk to "Dusty" Hoffman, who called my Uncle one day, and also, more embarrassingly, to Rip Torn and Geraldine Page, whom my Uncle called at the crack of dawn one morning to impress me--thrusting the phone at me after waking the poor hapless souls.

As for the Topic of the Day...

I remember coming up to The City with my cousin, Richard, and his family when I was 11 or 12-years old.  I think it was just for a long weekend.  We drove up.  I remember...

-The squeegee guys "attacking" their car as soon as we hit the Lincoln Tunnel.  -Do the squegee guys even exist anymore?
-We stayed with one of Richard's aunts who lived in Queens.  Her house was right by one of the elevated subway tracks.  The first night, both Richard and I got a little freaked out the first time we started hearing things rattling and shaking.  We then realized it was all the knick-knacks rattling each time a train passed.
-We took the train to the Statue of Liberty, but didn't realized and didn't understand that we had to be in the first four cars of the train in order to get out at the station.  As soon as we noticed that the train was changing directions, well...
-There was also one of those "classic" subway moments: Three of us got onto a train... And then the doors started to close... while three others were still on the platform.  Thankfully, one of the aunts was on the train, and one was on the platform, so we just got off at the next station, grabbed the next train back uptown, and rejoined our group.  But I still remember the look of "horror" on their face - and my face - as the doors closed and the train started to move.
-I also remember Richard and I cracking up while we were watching TV.  It was a "Hungry Jack" commercial.  Mother rang the dinner bell, then one son ran up onto the porch, opened the screen door, then ran into the house.  Then the next son - who was older and bigger - ran up onto the porch, opened the screen door and and ran into house.  Then the oldest - and biggest - son ran up the porch, through the screen door, and into the house.  -We just kept laughing and laughing and laughing.

The first time I was in NYC was, I believe, in 1973.  I stayed at the Warwick.

I was doing publicity for a company (partially owned by actor Gary Lockwood) that made hang-gliders.  I'd booked Gary on "What's My Line?" and was there to see that everything went okay.

Also, my first book was about to be published by a company in NJ, so while I was in town, I took the train down there for a meeting.

One thing that I do remember is that the town was full of hookers.  You could not walk down the street without being propositioned every 2 minutes.

Another thing: I went to the Radio City Music Hall; saw the Rockettes.

There is nothing like your first visit to NYC.

I could call you and recite THE PRODUCERS if you think that would help.

I'm guess I'm "lucky" that whenever I finish a show - basically right after the final cut-off - the show tends to leave my mind.  Yes, occasionally, some snippet will go round and round in my head, but for the most part, I'm able to leave "it" at the theatre.  I believe it's a result of all the audition playing I do, sort of like a defense mechanism. ;)

And to add to the other's sad news, my friend Mustafa learned that his cousin and his cousin's wife (who was 7 months pregnant) were both killed in the bombing at the Iraq Foreign Ministry Center last Wednesday, where they both worked.

The couple had just been transferred back to Baghdad from Brussel's due to the husband's promotion, and they were expecting their first child.

Mustafa's brother, Achmed, who visited here last year, used to work at this same building but had been transferred to Moscow several months ago, fortunately.

Good morning, all! I slept well, and I will shortly deliver the Life Begins At 8:40 Full score and vocal score to Fed Ex. This morning, at last, my PHI payment landed in my bank account so I can pay me rent and a few bills, thank God! No word, of course, from the LoC and I don't expect any soon.  I also believe that, beginning today, I am going to walk without the support of a crutch and see how that goes.

As for the schedule today, until I head down to DR FJL's around 7 pm, I've got Brent Barrett's work and I may make a trip to the NYPL today. I need to order some music paper as well and I'm hoping that handyman George puts in an appearance. I'm starting to get antsy about the piles of books everywhere.

First trip to NYC was Christmas week, 1966, the first thought of escaping Ohio, and I was accompanied by my brother Tom AKA Macbeth and his best freind Chuck, who disliked his stepfather so much that he literally lived at our home and my parents regarded him as another son. We went by train, which was something I vowed in Jan 1967 to never repeat. My memories of the trip are the three of us seeing MAN OF LA MANCHA with original cast, still at the ANTA Theatre in Washington Square before it moved uptown, HELLO DOLLY! with Ginger Rogers (Mary Martin had been better but the staging and design were absolutely brilliant as ever), City Ballet's NUTCRACKER, and living at Sam Goody's, King Karol, and Drama Book Shop. I returned with many wonderful things I could never purchase in Middletown or Oxford, Ohio, shops. I was dying to see CABARET, which had recently opened, but it was impossible to get near. Still, after a week in Manhattan, I thought, I could live here one day.

I don't really remember my first actual trip to NYC--my family had been making day trips up to the city even before I was born.  My parents claim that they took all of us kids to see shows such as DOLLY and FIDDLER, but I don't remember that at all.  I do have slight recollections of being at the '64 World's Fair.

Probably the first trip that I do clearly recall included visits to the United Nations (where I bought a wind-up frog and a set of castanets) and then a tour of the NBC studios (where I had the thrill of my life seeing the studio where CONCENTRATION was taped.)

Back from PT with some encouraging news. The therapist believes much of my pain is being produced by my abysmal posture, so I have some exercises to perform twice a day to help my body relearn proper stance and hopefully relieving pressure on the spinal column which is sending out shock waves to my arm.

He also gave me some suggestions about comfortable sleep positions to that I can hopefully sleep through the night. It will be really interesting to try it tonight.

I've told the story so many times about my first trip to NYC: 1958 in December/1959. We saw MY FAIR LADY on that trip with Sally Ann Howes and Edward Mulhare as the first replacements for the original leads. We went to all the touristy places: EMpire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Coney Island, Radio City.

I was going to say that the movie was OPERATION PETTICOAT, but that didn't come out until 1959, so that must have been the next CHristmas when we saw that.

Still waiting to hear what my PT will entail.  I will say that I had a major wake up call yesterday, playing the 9 foot concert grand at my church gig--as soon as I hit the pedal, my leg/knee was in incredible pain, so I do think part of this is something akin to "carpal tunnel" syndrome, although with the wrong appendage.  :)

Thanks, folks, for the encouraging words of support. I have been making an effort even sitting in this chair to get the posture under control and straighten up my neck, and by George (not DR George or Bernard Shaw), I can tell some difference!

TOD - My mother took me to NYC for the first time in 1967, between my junior and senior years of high school.  We stayed at the New York Hilton on 6th Ave. and saw the original cast of Cabaret and the Mimi Hines/Johnny Desmond Funny Girl.  Also went to Radio City Music Hall, a taping of Concentration, for a ride on the Staten Island Ferry, and on a guided tour of the then-new Lincoln Center.  It was there, in the Performing Arts branch of New York Public Library, that I decided to pursue librarianship as a career.  I think that worked out pretty well...

That was where my brother, Chuck Smith, and I staed in December 1966! I had forgotten that.  Speaking of Chuck, I saw him last at my dad's funeral. He and his wife no longer keep company with the Macbeths; Randy and I think that Lady M has driven off another of Tom's best friends. She does it effortlessly.

So sorry about your friends, MBarnum

Thanks all for the vibes for Steve and Gretchen and family.   It's hard being 2 hours away and not being able to be there.   I'm probably going to go up for at least a day this weekend and will go for Labor Day Weekend as well.  They only live 5 or 6 houses from my parents' house at the lake, so I can be there without being "a guest".  They have lots of family and are a very close knit family so I'm sure there are many who will be there for support.

Day 1 without Edith (she's on vacation).  I realized when I came in that she didn't schedule much at all for me this week.  I'm sure she looked at the calendar and said to herself "We can't do it that week, I'll be gone" lol.

I plan to use the week for catching up, going through all the files to make sure nothing has slipped through the cracks, maybe redoing my website, learning new software etc.

My first trip to NYC was when I was about 18, working for a costume jewelry company as the Phoenix person. They sent us all to NYC for some reason (I guess to get acquainted with the others and bond), and I didn't fit in with the others at all. After the daily meetings, they all decided to go out to the bars. I was too young, so they sent me back to the hotel in a cab. It was horrible and I quit the job after I got back home.

Ooohh! I remember dealing with that during my bout of sciatica. OUCH!  Thankfully, I had remembered some of the pointers I received from an Alexander Technique teacher, and adjusted the height of my bench and the type of shoes I was wearing - the "height" of the sole and heel can make a much bigger difference than one would think.

However, the biggest adjustment that I had to make was relearning just how much pressure it does not take to de/press the piano pedals.  Yes, it may "look" impressive stomping down on the pedals - and one can really get physically involved when playing certain types of music - but once the pedal is down, there's really no need to keep pressing it into the floor.  -Especially when dealing with keyboard pedals.  In any case...

DR JMK - Stretching and muscle relaxers can and will do wonders.  ;)

Since Rodzinski is not amongst tonight's guests I'm beginning to think this has something to do with me personally, since he attended a do two weeks ago at the same address.  This is, of course, baffling to me, since I have thought long and hard and also hard and long to think of something that I did that might have bothered him - I come up with a big 0.  In fact, I have been nothing but nice to him since meeting him online and several times in person.  And please don't use "paranoia" - I think his prolonged absence from here, coupled with the fact that I have never heard from him once in all that time, takes paranoia out of the running.  So, I will continue to be baffled and that's that.

Elmo! how lovely that your fine gimpy self may be walking around!!!

My first NYC trip was - I think it was - spring of 1972, when I flew in to audition at Juilliard. I stayed at my friend Justin's apt... Justin is a wonderful man whom I met on a production in 1969, who introduced me to my first singing teacher - he had said learning to sing would make me more employable as an actor...

Anyway, it was a quick trip in and back out - and by Sept 1972, I was living in Noo Yawk in the very apartment described in the slightly fictionalized semi-autobiographical novel Jewish Thighs blahblahblah, and going to Juilliard.

I'm in LA for that long weekend at my theater - wow, I worked front of house for three separate, excellent productions playing in rep, attended the board meeting yesterday morning, I'll meet with my boss this afternoon, work the literary evening tonight, and fly back to Seattle tomorrow! I'm staying at Rikki's son's palatial house in Playa Vista - yowza! I'll be staying here again when I get back end of Sept, dawg-sitting while said nephew and his lovely wife are a-travlin'.

Hainesies in LA environs might like these shows at Rogue Machine Theatre on Pico, just west of La Brea. I'm so proud to be involved with this bunch o' peeps... check out www.roguemachinetheatre.com when you get a chance. Stop Kiss is a wonderful, touching show - and Henry Murray's Treefall is a majorly great show, one of the best things I've ever seen on so many levels - playwriting, set, acting, directing, hell - even the sound designer got great reviews.

LATIMES (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/08/crypt-above-marilyn-monroes-bidding-at-more-than-4-million-as-auction-closes.html)

Quote
Auction price for crypt above Marilyn Monroe's reaches $4 million

August 24, 2009 |  8:20 am

This piece of real estate in Westwood might not be suffering from the economic downturn.

The crypt above Marilyn Monroe's resting place was placed for sale on EBay for a $500,000 starting price, but the bidding is now up to more than $4 million. Bidding ends today, and 28 people have vied for the crypt.

The crypt belonged to Richard Poncher. The onetime Beverly Hills resident, who died 23 years ago at the age of 81, will be moving out of the crypt above Monroe's resting spot at the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park cemetery.

His wife, Elsie, is hoping that he has just a little more to give. She wants to use the money to help pay off the $1.6-million mortgage on her 1 3/4-acre Beverly Hills home.

"I can't be more honest than that," she told The Times. "I want to leave it free and clear for my kids."

Ah, yes - for the children!

At least in a crypt you are safe from cemetarying natives and their dogs.

THis was a strange episode in which the PTB programmed five of the "Dolls" to attempt to break free of their home to get a better handle on their emerging personalities. Not my favorite episode from the series. Looks like they're trying to find their way to a different vibe for the show. The next episode (which I should be able to watch tonight) should tell a lot.

When I got in from lunch, the Disney Blu-ray of EARTH had not arrived, so I watched THAT HAMILTON WOMAN. More than half a century removed from the propoganda aspects of the movie, it now plays as a grand showcase for Vivien Leigh. It's blatant how much Korda favors her in camera set-ups and in all the scenes she shares with others. Of course, she does get top billing and had just won the Oscar, so I guess it's understandable.

I listened to about 1/3 of the commentary, but I wanted to move on to the other bonus features: a half hour with Michael Korda talking about the film, a radio promo for the movie, and a trailer that titles the film LADY HAMILTON.

But the commentary is excellent, and I'll go back later and begin where I left off to hear it all.

It's more convoluted for traditional BD's, as Blu-ray.com has a proprietary system for taking 1080p screen captures.  They sent me all the equipment but failed to send instruction manuals or one of the cables I needed, which made trying to figure everything out rather difficult.  But I got the last cable and got everything "assembled" correctly and have been taking screencaptures successfully (at least I think so), so I will be uploading a review of the charming Jon Dove opera Pinnocchio soon.  Even if you're not a big fan of opera, my hunch is you would all enjoy Pinnocchio.

Very good news, Matt!!

Back from a very productive rehearsal with Crista and Alex Rybeck.  The latter is really helpful when trying to conceptualize medley, and we actually got done everything I wanted to today - two really significant medleys and what we hope will be her closing segment.  Tomorrow we'll start working through what she's already got and seeing where the new things fit within that.  It was fun.  And now, I'll just sit here like so much fish and wait for the dinner partay.  I don't remember what apartment number, but I suppose the person at the desk can tell me.

...she wanted to be buried on her stomach, as that was the way she slept.

My Mother's oft-expressed wish was to be buried in her night clothes. So, my Father washed up her favorite nightie and delivered them together with her slippers to the funeral director (this with my sister and my whole hearted blessing). One of the relatives made a snide remark about the closed casket arrangements, and I observed that Mom didn't receive visitors in her nightclothes. When she found out the truth she was apalled with a capital A. The same bunch of relatives made many nasty cracks about the post-funeral reception - which was the very jovial party Mom would have wanted.

TOD:

My first "official" trip to New York City was taken as a joint anniversary(my parents)/birthday(mine) trip in 1977.

Previously, I had had a cappucino down in the Village, following a wedding in Philadelphia.  In a rented Toyota Carolla, Paul Binotto (of the OBC of DREAMGIRLS) drove me into the Village for a late-night cuppa before going back to his apartment in Jersey City.  Paul and I had been at the University of Pittsburgh together and he had attended the wedding as well.  So, unofficially, I really didn't do the town. . .

But, in 1977, my folks and I (plus a cousin from Columbia SC) took Amtrak from Pittsburgh to NYC.  That train ride was a train wreck of a ride!  It was shortly after a hurricane, Agnes I think, had devasted Johnstown PA, so what should have been a shorter train ride took thirteen hours!  None of us were pleased, and once we checked into the hotel - Holiday Inn on W. 57th - we cancelled our return trip by train and booked flights out of JFK instead.

Fortunately, our plans were made much in advance, leaving our arrival day/night, for dinner and settling into the hotel, so nothing was lost.

Naturally, we did the touristy things during the days:  Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, NBC tour, Tiffany's. . .

At night, we went our separate ways to theaters.
My first Broadway show was THE SHADOW BOX at The Morosco Theater.
My folks and cousin saw SHENANDOAH at The Mark Hellinger.

Ate at Sardi's following the shows.

The next night, I saw SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM (original cast) at THE MUSIC BOX while my folks and cousin went off to The Uris for Yul Brynner in THE KING AND I.

After those shows, we went to Windows on the World for a late dinner atop of the very new World Trade Center.

Saturday's matinee, we all saw Liv Ullman in ANNA CHRISTIE at The Imperial.

That evening, we saw ANNIE at The Alvin, and there was a ticketing problem. . .Dad's Visa was charged for our four tickets, but the box office was only holding THREE tickets under our name!  Now ANNIE was the hot ticket, having just swept away the Tony Awards the week before, and after much polite bickering, the box office gave us a house seat in the orchestra, which we decided that my cousin and I would share.  She took the seat for Act One, I took it for the second act.

In between shows, we ate at that fabulous Italian restaurant next to the Longacre Theater - Mama Lucia's (?)

We didn't venture onto a subway the whole trip, but relied on taxis and feet.

I fell in love with the town that trip - the noise, the hum, the odors, the sights, the theaters just the whole thing.

THREE QUESTIONS FOR BK

I have been watching the Two's Company DVD and had to go on-line to refresh my memory where certain songs were from.

In the Variety review, it said that Kevin Spirtas sang "Proud Lady" but it is not on the DVD. Why not?

And for curiosity sake
Also there were several singers listed as appearing, but they did not. Were their songs dropped or were they given to others?

And I may have missed your answer yesterday, but who sings You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To on The Fortune Cookie soundtrack?

My first trip to New York was in March of 1969.  My friend Sandy and I were chosen to represent our college radio station at the National Collegiate Broadcasting Convention in Washington DC.  Sandy's folks had a travel agent than manged to book us through NY, then to Washington, and then back to Seattle for less than the college was paying for round trip to Washington.  So we flew into JFK, stayed free for four days in a little walk-up apartment on Bleeker Street in the Village that was owned by our collegiate advertising agency.  The little walk-up had the bathtub in the kitchen, a chain pull toilet that was literally in a little closet, and it even had a piano in the living room that they had spray-painted black; and the paint came off on every piece of clothing that I brought with me.  It was also just around the corner from the Sullivan Street Theater where THE FANTASTICKS was playing.

We went to see HELLO DOLLY with Pearl Bailey and the All-Black Cast, the original cast of BOYS IN THE BAND, the Easter Show at Radio City Music Hall (plus THE LOVE BUG), and we attended a week of tapings for the show SAY WHEN, which was NBC's version of PASSWORD.  After the tapings we did interviews for the radio station with Johnny Olson, Nipsy Russell (an A**hole), Ed McMahon, and I think the female celebrity was Connie Hines from MR. ED.  And one night we got very wasted on beer at Your Father's Moustache, and then stupidly walked back to our place in the Village.

Topic of the Day:  my one and only trip to New York City was in December, 1995.  I went with a local theater group and saw Swinging On a Star (first thing we did after getting off the plane!), Sunset Blvd. (with Betty Buckley...we got pictures), Victor/Victoria (with Julie Andrews!) and Beauty and the Beast.  Four of us went to see "Regis and Kathy Lee," but Kathy Lee was on vacation, so Joy Philbin was co-host.  We got a picture of us four with Regis!  I had my disposable panoramic camera and it's a very nice picture.  I'm not exactly sure where the pictures are right now, but I know I still have them.  I got a picture of Julie Andrews being escorted from the stage door to her car (no autographs for anyone) and she was wearing a cap with the logo of the then-recent revival of Company.  We also saw a special New Year's Eve performance of Tap Dogs in the village that ended at midnight.  We didn't get get back to Times Square until after most people had left, so we only got to see the aftermath. ;)

On the day before we left, I walked around mid-town by myself (I never felt unsafe) and bought a ticket to see Robeson with Avery Brooks, from a woman standing in front of the theater.  I paid the price on the ticket, $40 and it was third or fourth row center!  That was one of the BEST theatrical experiences that I have ever had.  It was just three hours of Avery Brooks telling and singing about the life of Paul Robeson...and it was fantastic.  I also went to a record store right in mid-town Manhattan and paid WAY too much for some records (including the London cast recording of 1776!) but didn't spend nearly enough time at Footlight.  We found out where it was and went on a whim and had to get back for a show.  If I'd've known, I would've made another trip out there.

Anyway, I'd love to go back...someday. :D

I saw her, too, on Broadway. She was Pearlie Mae all the way, no Dolly that I could discern. It helped that I had seen the show done legitimately by other actresses. Pearlie just played around with it. Would stop the show and complain about how her feet hurt. Would decide to reprise "So long, Dearie" on a whim.

The audience ate up every second of it, and it WAS entertaining, but it wasn't HELLO, DOLLY!

So, I'm not really sure what I'll be working on tomorrow. But I WILL be working; it won't be a day off. September is a heavy, heavy month for TV box sets, so days off are going to be non-existent this month and next month, I suspect.

I'm the first reporter back from the wonderful dinner at the home - it's really a salon - of our DR FJL and the Mighty Skip Kennon, chef, composer and raconteur par excellence. The dinner was great, ending with the most wonderful blueberry pie I have ever had the luck to encounter for dessert. The prime reason for its being such a fantastic event was the guest list. Our BK was in great form, and so many of my favorite New York acolytes were there - vixmom and the vixter, Jose, Ben, the promising-to-return Rodzinski and Julie, and the fabulous hosts who epitomize hospitality and generosity.

I had my first wine tonight in six weeks. so if I have forgotten anyone, blame it on the wine  and not my encroaching senility.

We dropped Proud Lady - not enough rehearsal time for Kevin.  I don't think there were "several" singers listed who didn't appear unless you saw a VERY early list - Vicki Lewis was to do I Want To Be A Rockette but dropped out the day before the show, at which point I gave the song to one of our ensemble members.

And there is no singer credited anywhere for The Fortune Cookie, so we don't know.

No one who listens to Judi West's speaking voice think it's her singing - we all think it's a dub job.

The get-together was absolutely faboo - everyone was in fine form, dish was dished, food was served and was, as always, divoon - flank steak, some sort of goat cheese tart (and I've known a few of THOSE in my day), mozzarella and tomatoes (there's a name for it but I can't remember), and the most yummilicious fresh blueberry pie a la mode.  Much food was consumed.  The conversation was lovely, and it was quite a lovely treat to see and chat with Rodzinski again.  I have photographs, but am a little too tired to deal with them at the moment - either later tonight or in the morning.  Must now write the notes.

I had a very frustrating time earlier tonight, but I've gotten over it.

Interesting Variety reviewed the show that included Kevin's singing of Proud Lady! :-)

The other people from an earlier list (I presume) were Rita McKenzie & Terry Trotter & Sara Rue.

Yes, Rita, Terry, and Sara all dropped out early on, along with Jason Graae and several others.  Pink Fish is my Alan Menken - both music and lyrics - it's not from anything.

New notes are up and I'm changing the topic right now.
