Good morning all.

The snow hasn't started but they are talking about it. The talk began last night. Since it's snowing in Virginia perhaps we may really get snow. We have a party tonight and it's supposed to begin during the worst time of the storm. We may not be attending the party after all.

We have DVDs to watch if we don't go out and I will go to the grocery store soon to pick over what is left from the crazies who will treat the storm like the beginning of Armageddon.

Good morning! Well, the snow is here!  I think about 8 inches so far, but we're expecting up to a foot or more of additional snow and now we have a blizzard warning.  Being from Buffalo, you'd think I'd be more blase, but we haven't had a big storm for several years in the DC area!

I did finish wrapping of most of the gifts yesterday and this morning. I have one that contains perishible items which can't be attended to until the afternoon of the party where I'll be presenting the gift. Otherwise, I'm all done with wrapping this year. Hooray!

It happens everywhere! We got a few grains of sleet yesterday, and the grocery store was jammed.

Well, I have to say I'm surprised. An hour ago, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Now, the sky is nothing but clouds! Wow!

Now, I'm going to deal with some computer stuff and then head back down to start on some viewing. I have that MENTALIST episode to finish that I started last night, and I'll likely watch another one while I eat lunch before starting on EVERYBODY SING later.

I agree about "Hatari" being an ideal candidate for a Blu ray restoration, including the score by Mancini.

The film's singular liability -- IMO -- is the obnoxious "Pockets" played by Red Buttons, who was the ideal actor for obnoxious roles (if his credits are any clue).  Or was this a case of the obnoxious Red Buttons playing "Pockets" who "might have been" an endearing character?

TOD:

LOST
COUGAR TOWN
THE AMAZIN' RACE

And really, that's all I can come up with.  I watched PROJECT RUNWAY all the way thru to the bitter end, but it was a blah season.  I kept up with FLASHFORWARD, but mostly because I was intrigued with it's basic mystery--I dont think it's well written or acted.  And while I very much liked the pilot of GLEE, I haven't liked any of it that I've seen since and gave up on it back in October.  I still think that 90% of TV is crap.

In addition to The Graveyard Book, if you are in a mood for books for young adults, I also recommend either the Artemis Fowl series or The Mysterious Benedict Society series.

What a cute little house, DR Dan(theMan)! It's very Christmas-y with the snow.

As for DR edisaurus...

I was able to meet up with her last night after she attended and LOVED Finian's Rainbow.  -My timing worked out well enough that I was also able to catch Kate Baldwin on her way out of the stage door and was able to exchange a nice hug and kiss.  *She'll also be back at Feinstein's in April. In any case...

With my friend, Bradley, in tow, the three of us headed up to Casellula to grab a bite to eat and a glass of wine.  Well, that was the plan.  They were slammed last night.  Thankfully, we were able to head across 9th Avenue to Eatery where we able to grab the nice quiet corner table in the bar area.  The food was good - they had just revamped the menu.  The house merlot was drinkable.  And, most importantly, the conversation was sparkling.  -And I don't believe too many people's ears should have been burning last night.  We had a great catch-up session.

DR edisaurus will be flying back up to NYC on New Year's Eve.  However...

It looks like DR edisaurus will be staying in NYC for one more night.  I spoke to her this morning, and by that time, she had found out that her flight back to Atlanta tonight had already been cancelled.  -In fact, Jet Blue has already gone ahead and cancelled almost all the flights out of JFK after 2:00 this afternoon, and most of the other airlines have started to follow suit.

Alas, her hotel was already fully-booked this weekend, so she had to check out.  However, she'll be able to crash at Peter's place tonight, if needed, and I also have a sofa-bed here she's welcome to use.  So...

*DR elmore - Peter's place isn't too far from your place, so, depending on when Amy flies out tomorrow... Brunch? Popover? Good Enough To Eat? ;)
