Thanks for the vibes, Fred, Jeanne and JRand. I'm having some chicken noodle soup. Here's hoping it works.

  • What is it, fish?

Rehearsal was long but fun - then I ran out and got some Taco Bell since I didn't want to take the time to sit in a restaurant.  Once I'm done it's back to futzing and finessing and new writing for the rest of the evening.

Started watching Following, Christopher Nolan's first movie. He's too clever by half. And it's just not that interesting.

Congrats to DR Vixmom. That was actually what I was expecting the news to be.  Although I was waiting for your announcement. I guess I would have waited forever (I had not finished reading all 21 pages from New Year's eve) :)

I'll just let DRs Jrand67 and Elmore order for me.  Easier that way.     :D

Why?  Because they're all delicious! (if not necessarily very healthy ::) )

Finally finished the futzing and finessing and am moving on - don't know if I've got seven more pages in me but that's what I'm aiming for.

Had a good productive day working around the house, and a most pleasant evening listening to a couple of very interesting CDs and watching about half each of a couple of very interesting movies.  I so needed a day like that.  The good news is that tomorrow can be another one.

Where in tarnation IS everyone?  Just another page and a half to go and I'll be on page twenty - if I'm feeling it, I may go two beyond that, but as long as I'm averaging ten a day I'll be very happy.

Among other things, Wae-Ling and I made cream puffs today for a group gathering that we hosted. We took turns stirring the dough as it cooked, and then she piped it. Then she piped in the filling. They rose beautifully.

My body hurts from sitting way too much.  Tomorrow We begin the grueling 4 flight, (20?] hour trip home.  I hope we have time to walk at the airports while still catching our connections.

I believe it is customary to RUN for your connecting flight.

I don't envy you the trip home, but hope it goes smoothly and you can WALK to your connections.

Travel vibes.

;D  Hopefully we will not have to run.

One of the best things about exercising is the nice hot shower afterwards, right?  Well, I was all set for mine and discovered that we have no running water, thanks to the crew working across the street.  Wonder if we have a broken water main - that can be a mess in this cold weather.

Ugh! Water vibes to DR Ginny!

On our safari today we came upon the body of a several-week old baby elephant. The carnivores and carrion-eaters had not yet discovered the body. The emotion of the mother, siblings and herd was palpable. They would not leave the body and, gently, every so often, would circle the infant and place their trunks on the baby. So very emotional to witness. Africa, a wonderful, wondrous adventure!

As we drove away, until I could no longer see, the mother was stranding alone over her baby.

Oh, no.  I won't tell my sister about that. :(

If your sister has read about elephants she is aware of their attachment to each other, especially to a baby.  Being aware and seeing it up close aware very different experiences.
