Ginny, how is your nose today?

My nose is pretty quiet today, DR John G, but we've just come from 2 hours in the ER after a 4-pound hand weight fell from the bookshelf I was dusting.  It smacked the top of my left foot and I yelled until Richard and Rob came running.  We watched it swell and discolor and decided it should be x-rayed.  Fortunately, nothing's broken, but I won't be tap-dancing anytime soon.

I'm going to log off here on my computer and move to my iPad and my recliner where I can elevate and ice my foot.

I bet.  How do you find the right balance of keeping off of it and moving enough to prevent a blood clot, or do the meds protect you?

I asked the PA that very question.  He said to flex my ankles frequently while sitting.

And, yes, the meds should help.

DR Ginny, you have got to stop these dreadful bids for attention.  You could seriously hurt yourself!

And . . . Annabelle has moved on to the Purina Party Mix.  I guess her appetite is returning.

I'm wondering if you need to keep him caged for another couple days.

He may hide from me for a couple of days, but I think he's ready to join the family.  He's eager to be out of that cage, he wants to socialize with Annabelle, and I'm hoping that in two days she will be in much better shape.

Yes, DR Elmore, I thought I’d really done it this time!

Good about the meds helping.

When we fly I try to flex my ankles on a regular basis, and I move my knees up and down and tap my feet on the floor.  It is comforting to know at least some of this is helpful.
