Topic of the Day - "One Potato, Two Potato"
(1) I like McDonald's French Fries and also In 'n' Out's French Fries. One is crisp/limp and the other is soft/limp. Mmm...
(2) One of my favorite recipes from my mother...
Lebanese Potato Salad
4 large potatoes (you can use unskinned red potatoes for added color)
1 small clove garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 small onion, chopped
1/3-1/2 cup parsley, coarsely chopped
1/3 cup olive oil

1. Scrub potatoes and boil as for potato salad. Cool and dice into 1" cubes.
2. Mash garlic with seasonings. Add lemon juice, stirring well. Add the rest of the ingredients and toss, mixing well.
3. Serves 4-6.

Note: I usually eat this salad cold. IMO, what really makes it tasty is the combo of lemon juice and potatoes.

Cook until peppers and onions are tender and potatoes are nicely browned.

The usual trick (German and Southern) in getting potato fries with crispy outsides and tender innards is to pre-cook the potatoes before frying. My Mother always boiled the potatoes with the skins on, then after cooling them on a counter, she would wrap them in paper towels and put them in the fridge overnight (in my house it was an "ice box". Starting with the cold potatoe (Republican spelling) allows the outside to crisp before the inside gets over-cooked.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

I thought I set my VCR last night to tape "Doctor Who" and "Battlestar Galactica" but somehow I only set it to tape one hour..."DW" got taped and "BG" didn't!

At least it's going to be on again on Monday. I was SUPPOSED to tape this for my sister! AND I haven't watched last week's episode, either. I have a lot of other shows to watch this weekend, so it's not as if I had nothing else to do while waiting for it to come on again.

DR MattH, re: last night's VANISHED.

I wasn't as afraid that i would forget things as i was that i would not be interested anymore. But as you said the show was surprisingly easy to pick up again. And it was quite enjoyable.

I cannot remembetr where i read this, but i believe fox told the show to rap up everything in the next 6 episodes (including last night). Not sure if that will be 13 episodes or much less.
