Some of my favorite toys I still have...my first easter bunny and my collection of Freakies characters from the Freakies cereal (my favorite!)...which look like this...

After seeing the wonderful picture from DR Michael, all I could think of was  " ... cereal with amusing toy..."  This will make sense to some, and BK.

I'm very fond of Japanese posters - one of my prized possessions is an original Japanese poster for Kurosawa's High and Low.  I have several other interesting ones.

Of course showing us a picture of this poster would be most welcomed by me!!

My sister's Barbie doll, one of the originals, lost all her hair.  She looked like Susan Powter.

(The doll, not my sister.)

BK - Friday is a possibility, but wouldn't you need to be at the Jerome Kern show at Town Hall that's a part of that whole special Town Hall weekend?  Or are you not planning to go to that?

BTW, that Fedex envelope should arrive at your mail place tomorrow morning.

Wanted to share a partial scan of a lovely photograph I received today, purchased for $10 on EBAY.

Mr Tyrone Power and Ms Frances Farmer in an embrace for a scene from the 20th Century-Fox 1942 release "Son of Fury."  ;D

It is impossible for me to decide who is more beautiful, Ty or Fran.  8)

I have no plans to be at Town Hall on Friday - I'll be at a daytime rehearsal at Nola, then am available.

Friday night sounds good.  Skip's up for a little NYC HHW mini-dinner at our place.  Any HHW-ers who want to come, just email me at my AOL address DYLAN43RD by Thursday morning so that we can plan foodstuffs accordingly.  Also, let me know about any dietary restrictions.

Strict lobster - what's that, the kind that grabs at you with its claws before you kill it?

And being a perfect little girl, you never lost your shake key!

It is difficult to loose a skate key when worn round your neck on a string.  My mother did the same for the house keys when we were young.

One year for a combined birthday/Chanukah/Christmas gift my cousins gave me boot skates just like theirs.  I loved them.   Wisely they were extra large & took a couple of years to grow into

George-Do you need a locksmith to make the key from the lock?  If so I would call your realtor to hunt down that key.

Edisauris, I’m so sorry for the cat and like you even more than I do for being depressed.

FJL-I remember well the wonderful “light snack” you treated the walking tour to.  Sure wish I could go for the min-dinner.  As great as the food was the company was even more delightful.

Donna from the Home Owner's Association called earlier today, saying that I would need to get a key from the post office because the previous rentors never turned it in and that it might cost me $15.  Why should I have to pay??  Shouldn't the previous owners have to pay that??  So, that's what I asked my realtor.  I'll see what she finds out.

Or maybe I should just pay it and get it done.  That certainly would be the easiest thing to do. ::)

Edisauris, I’m so sorry for the cat and like you even more than I do for being depressed.

The whole building was depressed! Well, the people in it, I mean. But as an animal lover, I'm sure you understand. (Hi, Sherlock!)

I was crying about this on the way home, even though I didn't get to know this cat. It just seemed so unfair. But my crappy day took a turn for the best, because just now, when I got home, there were two wonderful packages waiting for me!

The first was a new Raymond Scott compilation that an aquaintance has put together. I didn't even know he was working on this, but he produced the last two Scott albums, so it didn't surprise me. He is Raymond Scott's curator, and I LOVE Raymond Scott!

The second was beyond exciting! A big box o' books from Kritzerland, each one inscribed by our own BK and perfectly arranged in the order in which they are to be read. What a wonderful surprise to see that they had arrived here so quickly! (I think they were mailed on Saturday?) I didn't think I would have time to read much over the next week. I have to crank out this Mercer demo by tomorrow night in addition to my usual work on
The Closer, and Randy Newman will be in town this weekend, so there's a lot involved with that, but damn it, I WILL make time to start the first of the trilogy.

Bruce saves the day! (And the evening, too!) Yay!

The Smothers Brothers were wonderful tonight. I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time. We were in the second row so we could see all their facial expressions.   What a fun time
