Andrew Sullivan observes

Quote
"The old motto should still hold for religious righties: annoy the libertine media. Show the impact of "values voters" again on issues like abortion and "gay marriage," that their sexually omnivorous agenda is a political minus," - Tim Graham, NRO.

"Sexually omniverous"? Liberals want to screw celery? Or just, as Oscar Wilde had it, a very ripe cantaloupe?

I woke up this morning and decided today was going to be a good day no matter what happened and it was.  So, I'm hoping the same for tomorrow and in the meantime will go to sleep and see what I can dream up.

Avatar transfer, avatar transfer!

I cannot focus.  I watched a motion picture on DVD and am now trying to watch Monster On The Campus, but it is such a film frought with meaning and density that I struggle to understand what is going on - it's like Dostoyevsky only not.

Interesting weekend on campus.... Mischief was afoot and the signs designating the buildings were all changed... The library suddenly became Ladd Hall!

George-You could pay it but it might be a waste of money if the previous owners have a key.

'night

True, but the condo has been a rental for the owners and has been vacant since May. :-\

OK...I wasn't going to mention this but I have been very depressed about it all day so I thought I'd depress everyone else here.

The little black cat cat whose owner abandoned it is no more...

If I ever meet the owner...they will rue the day.

Earlier today, I was going to post this:

My cat Ebonie somehow got out of the house this morning and I can't find her. :( My sister was here at the time and neither of us remember having the door open at all, other than for us to come in or out.  I left for work, not knowing where Ebonie was and my sister left a little later, not having seen her anywhere.  I came back here at about 1:15 to wait for the washer/dryer delivery guys (who didn't get here until 4:00 PM!) and went out every once in a while, calling for her, but she hasn't shown up.  WHERE COULD SHE BE??  I only just moved in last night and this happens! :'(

HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN espeically after der Brucer wrote this a couple of days ago :-[ :

Quote
Note to George, who posted last night:
Quote
The only thing I'm really worried about is my cat, Ebonie.  She's not one to run away, she usually hides under my bed, but it's a pretty tramatic event to move.

I trust the dear has a collar and tag with your phone number. Cats are notorious territorial (unlike dogs who are family (pack) oriented). Cats who have never roamed before will often "disappear" when relocated.

But then my sister called me around 7:30 PM (before I got home from work):  EBONIE IS IN THE CONDO!!  SHE NEVER LEFT!!!  I am SOOOOOO relieved!  It turns out that there is a very small hole in the trim under the cabinet right next to the dishwasher and Ebonie squeezed into that area.  This morning, I'd actually gotten down on the ground and looked in there with a little flashlight and couldn't see anything...and I didn't hear anything, either.  But when my sister came over in the afternoon (after I'd left to go back to work) she saw Ebonie at the bottom of the stairs heading into the kitchen, right for that hole but my sister was able to stop Ebonie from going in.  She called me and told me.  You can't imagine how happy and relieved I am. ;D
