Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 155% and will hopefully go higher and higher, and now it is time for you to post until the higher and higher cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FORTUITOUS!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Anne Bancroft, Anthony Quinn, and Ralph Richardson
-
I found the video of FOLLIES at 50: A panel with the cast and creative team of the original Broadway production (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGVv540I9qI). I'll try to watch it at work tomorrow or Wednesday.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Thanks for that Follies link, DR George.
-
Good to see you up and about, DR TCB.
-
Yesterday it was an unseasonable 84 degrees here. And the building probably won't turn on the AC for another two months. I don't sleep very well when it is so warm.
-
Good morning, all!
-
The unemployment tsuris continues. I certified again this morning for the week ending 04/04. I am running out of funds, and I am actually scared and completely pissed no one at the Dept of Labor will answer my messages. I know they're probably swamped by the huge number of unemployed these days, but they also added to their problems by simply not doing a turnover with the PUA folk and requiriubng new registration, which I most likey screwed up. I should have called Suad before I filed the new claim.
-
I have my 3-month checkup with my doctor at 11:00 this morning. Since I saw her three weeks ago for my pre-biopsy clearance, I don't ewllt know why I'm going in today.
-
Nikki, my urologist's assistant who is setting up my appointment with Lenox Hill Radiology, has not returned my calls from Friday and yesterday. I am not amused.

~~~ULTRA-STRENGTH PROBLEM RESOLUTION VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!!!!!
~~~FINAL FULL DAY OF INDIEGOGO VIBES~~~ for bk!!!!!

Interesting.... I've got Ted Chapin's book about Follies, "Everything Was Possible," on my Kindle. But apparently it is no longer available for purchase in that format.
-
Tuesdays are my team meeting day, with camera, and so I must hie hence to shave and shower.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Thanks for the Follies link, George.
-
It’s supposed to hit 100 Friday. Already.
-
It's a good thing you have a brand spankin' new AC, isn't it? :)
-
Tuesday.
I have received a batch of culture in the mail from DR ELMORE. Thanks!
-
Good morning, all.
-
It’s supposed to hit 100 Friday. Already.
No.
I mean, no thank you. (Must always be polite.)
-
That is terrible about the unemployment situation, DR Elmore.
I'll say it again -- it's absolutely unconscionable that the states aren't sufficiently staffed with people available to help with these issues. I would call that: essential services.
-
There's a break in the case! I took the recyclables to the basement, literally dragged up 40 lbs of litter, and opened the mail. I have a letter from the Dept of Labor.
-
I'm having a low energy morning, and feeling slightly "sniffly", as though some allergy sneezing is trying to knock on my door. It hasn't come in. So far, it's just knocking. I also have the remnants of an insane dream hanging on:
It definitely started off as relating to the perusal copies (actually just advance copies, since we've already got the show scheduled) of the current MTI score and vocal book for The Fantasticks that I picked up yesterday. The dream started off with someone inquiring about an updated page of script in what seemed to be the "Moonlight" scene. I was fumbling around, trying to determine what the update actually was, and this thing repeated ad nauseum until the entire dream shifted to a performance that seemed to be something at Encores! and which made no sense from the get go. At some point I was showing some people (my parents?!) where and how I crawl into this attic space to play my keyboard part in an orchestra for...something. It went on and on, with not one thing making any sense. Sometimes it's good to just wake up and get the HELL out of bed.

Something good, I hope?
I get emails from our DOL, most of which are newsletter-type updates of things going on that don't really relate at all to stuff I need to know.
-
The Dept of Labor letter is both good and frustrating. The good news is they want me to prove I am who I say I am, and the bad news is I need to photograph my passport or drivers license and upload it to them. I have no fucking means to do this, so I've sent my neighbor Ann an email because she could do it, but I think she's in Boston with her parents.
-
I called Suad and told her the news. She was pleased that there's been a breakthrough.
-
Ann emailed me. She's still in Boston, teaching remotely. She goes up a lot to care for her elderly parents.
-
I wish we were neighbors, DR elmore3003. I'd be happy to help you with that.
-
DR TCB vibes you can find a less expensive inhaler that works better!
-
From DR TCB:
I wish the doctor would call me and tell me what he plans to do to help me.
I suggest calling and asking for a call or video appointment now that he has the MRI results.
-
DR George have you managed to find an appointment to be vaccinated?
-
I wish we were neighbors, DR elmore3003. I'd be happy to help you with that.
I wish we were neighbors, too! I like your company.

You better believe it.

The new perks are up. Nice stuff.

elmore, it's easy to get them from your phone to your mac, presuming you have a Mac. Call me and I'll talk you through it - as long as you have wi-fi it's a snap.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about six hours of sleep.
-
157%!!! And apparently we don't finish tomorrow, which I don't understand since that's exactly four weeks but we finish on the 9th, so I'm confident we'll at least get to the 12K and maybe even the 12.5K. We can hope!
-
Guess elmore isn't reading these posts or looking at his e-mail. I can get his photos onto his computer in about ten seconds. All he has to do is call.
-
In other news: 159%!!! We're now only about forty bucks away from crossing the 12K mark and I'm looking at one or two things we'll be able to add for sure now.
-
Guess elmore isn't reading these posts or looking at his e-mail. I can get his photos onto his computer in about ten seconds. All he has to do is call.
Sorry. I'vbe been playing with my phone and its manual.
-
I've managed to email the photos to my computer. Now I need to get the suckers in focus! Otherwise I'kk wait for Jen to come over tonight.
-
It's turning into a day from hell. I cannot locate my current passport, only the two previous ones. Damn!
-
elmore, it's even easier than e-mailing and you should learn how to do it. It will make your life much easier.
-
We're now at 160 on the perks page and exactly ten bucks away from crossing the 12K mark. Still 159 on the home page. :)
-
If the campaign goes through Friday morning (the 9th), I may be able to make another contribution.
-
Good afternoon!
-
It's another beautiful day in Northern Virginia. 77 degrees and sunny. 25 % humidity.

Hope you reach your goal, BK!

Oh, no. I read it on a device, but I can't remember if it was my Kindle or the epub version on my tablet. I have an autographed paperback copy that I got on eBay, so I at least have that. :)
-
Thanks for the Follies link, George.
You're welcome, John!

At least, the good news outweighs the bad!
-
Back from Gelson's - chicken Caesar day and a tiny little cube steak for later. I'm needing to lose weight in the fastest way possible, so goodbye carbs for now - no bread, no sugar (already checked and the Caesar dressing has none), no pasta, no rice, no fruit, most veggies are okay, all meats, poultry, fish, butter, mayo, eggs - all fine. I hate doing it but it's time for me to drop twenty to thirty pounds, then we'll see where we'll go from there. I've learned from watching other people drop a lot of weight, that at this age you can't weigh what you did when you were thirty or forty years younger because it just looks gaunt and bad and I won't fall into that trap.
-
DR George have you managed to find an appointment to be vaccinated?
I signed up to be notified by Kaiser, so I haven't otherwise looked...yet. ::)
-
elmore, it's even easier than e-mailing and you should learn how to do it. It will make your life much easier.
I'm definitely interested. My first issue is taking photos that are not out of focus! My neighbor Jen is coming down to photograph my drivers license and passport.
-
I managed to help one of my contractors get a vaccine appointment for this afternoon.
-
DR Elmore -- do you by any chance have a printer that also scans? That would give you the highest quality capture of any kind of document (save as PDF if possible), and that saves right to your computer, too.
-
I managed to help one of my contractors get a vaccine appointment for this afternoon.
That is great, DR John G.!
-
It sounds like DR elmore3003 found his current passport.
-
:)
-
elmore, just call when you're ready. You'll love the ease of what I'll show you.
-
Been working on liner notes.
-
Waiting for someone to take us to 12K. I'm pushing on the Facebook.
-

Unfortunately., nop. Jen came dpown and photographed my drivers license, and it was accepted. Then the motherf's sent me a cell phone message with a link saying "click on the link." Where the hell is a mouse to click on the link on a damned cell phone?
-
It sounds like DR elmore3003 found his current passport.
No, I did not. I used my drivers license.
-
elmore, just call when you're ready. You'll love the ease of what I'll show you.
I will but it will not be today!
-
I click links on my cell phone by touching the screen.....but who knows......
-
The mask mandate ended to day in Indiana. Several counties opted to keep it in place.....and some places such as hospitals and schools still MUST wear.
I will continue to wear mine until I feel comfortable not doing so.
My sister who turns 50 on Wednesday had first shot at the local Kroger Store...but she doesn't remember when the second one is scheduled..... I told her to call the pharmacy and confirm it with them. She didn't get a card, which was weird. Maybe she got the ONE shot deal, but I don't think so.
-
Then the motherf's sent me a cell phone message with a link saying "click on the link."
Ah, the demons in hell are sent to torment me!
-
BREAKING NEWS...
-
That is odd, indeed, DR Jrand70.
-
I think your sister should file a PayPal dispute immediately.
-
More hail and thunderstorms expected imminently.
-
It's another beautiful day in Northern Virginia. 77 degrees and sunny. 25 % humidity.
Nice. It is a lovely day here though only 58 degrees.
-
DR George have you managed to find an appointment to be vaccinated?
I signed up to be notified by Kaiser, so I haven't otherwise looked...yet. ::)
As I have mentioned, except for one person, the people I know with Kaiser took months before receiving an offer for vaccinations. Our neighbors didn't wait that long and went elsewhere.
-
I click links on my cell phone by touching the screen.....but who knows......
That is how my phone works.

So, BK, how far did you get in talks to record all of Harnick and Raposo’s Wonderful Life score? Or was it just a pipe dream?
-
Tuesday evening greetings! We are back from a lovely long Easter weekend in Wheaton, Illinois, with Charlotte and her parents. She’s almost 10 months old, thinking about walking and talking and I could not stop looking at her. She’s not much for being held but didn’t mind when I did. We’re looking forward to going back for her birthday in June.
-
So, BK, how far did you get in talks to record all of Harnick and Raposo’s Wonderful Life score? Or was it just a pipe dream?
I'm not sure how far we got, but it was definitely in the discussion stages, as this letter confirms.
-
found two more perk items - maybe tonight.
-
This ID.me situation us ridiculous. They've accepted my drivers l9cense but claim the photo of my passport will not read. Then they tried to scan my face, which was a failure topo many times, so IU remain in goddamned limbo with them. I'm closing shop and planning my attack tomorrow. Color me really pissed off.

Did you have good weather? It is supposed to turn cold again when we are there. I hope not. I am glad you got to hold Charlotte.
-
We had great weather, DR Jane! Their church had an outdoor Easter morning service and all the adults in our family got a little sunburned.
-
If the sun shines while we are there I will remember use sunscreen.
-
Did Charlotte go to the service with you?
-
Did Charlotte go to the service with you?
Yes, but Mary Linda did a good job keeping her out of the sun. And she slept through some of it.

BREAKING NEWS...
You always have to wonder what prompts those kinds of warnings! :o
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I figured she would have been protected from the sun. I guess it was also good she slept some. An outdoor service sounds much better with a a 10 month old ;)
-
DR George have you managed to find an appointment to be vaccinated?
I signed up to be notified by Kaiser, so I haven't otherwise looked...yet. ::)
As I have mentioned, except for one person, the people I know with Kaiser took months before receiving an offer for vaccinations. Our neighbors didn't wait that long and went elsewhere.
I got an appointment for Thursday (two days from now) at 2:28! It's for the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine.
-
I went to bed quite late last night. I had some indigestion, took something for it, then curled up with my book until the discomfort passed. Then, of course, I didn't want to put down the book. But it was lovely to sleep through the night with no earthquakes.
-
I have my 3-month checkup with my doctor at 11:00 this morning. Since I saw her three weeks ago for my pre-biopsy clearance, I don't ewllt know why I'm going in today.
Making up for all the business they lost last year due to Covid?
-
$12,000! 160%!! :D

One of my current pet peeves is how business offices often have the latest technology, then assume that all their customers/clients/patients do, too. They also assume we have the skills to do these things. Most annoying.

Wonderful. Did Kaiser just send you a notice to book an appointment? I figured it would be the single-dose since it is what my friend in Olympia got.
-
I am waaaayyyy behind in technology matters these days. I learned that there are loads of tutorials on YouTube, explaining a lot of this stuff. I plan to avail myself of some of them. I tend to forget about YouTube stuff, unless it's Kritzerland.

The mask mandate ended to day in Indiana. Several counties opted to keep it in place.....and some places such as hospitals and schools still MUST wear.

I suspect I'll be wearing a mask for some time. Last week I was at the hairdresser's and there was a woman, maskless. Everyone else was wearing a mask. She made the comment that she can sit next to anyone because she's been vaccinated. She may be OK, but what about those around her? She appeared to have no concern for anyone but herself. I may have to change my appointment day because she's there every week for her manicure and I don't wish to be around her.
-
George, I'll be interested to learn if you have any side effects from the J&J.
Vibes it goes smoothly.

TTFN.

So will I...and thanks!
-
160%!!! 12K!!! and two more full days to get to 12.5 or beyond - beyond would actually be a good thing to add the final few goodies and cover the additional fees, of course.
-
Well, let's celebrate the new percentage with...
-
five!!!!!

I would one of the people is at your Kaiser. There is a good chance they finally on schedule.
Kate can get vaccinated in Illinois, however, Chicago is behind schedule.

Got a creepy flick on tonight called Rent-A-Pal. I'm sort of enjoying it.
-
My sister's boyfriend chose to go up to Renton twice to get his two shots.
Was that close to an hour drive? If you care which vaccination you get that makes sense. They might decide to do a long drive for Kate, if they can book something for her.

Did California change the rules about wearing masks inside?
-
Two new perks up. A postcard-sized repro of the movie one sheet for Angel, starring Marlene Dietrich. Signed in pen by Miss Dietrich and really reasonably priced to boot. Framed and double matted and ready to hang.
-
Second perk is an oil painting of Miss Gloria Swanson, also very reasonably priced and beautifully framed and ready to hang. It hung originally in Wattles Mansion in Hollywood and now it can hang in your handy-dandy home.

Yes, Renton is about an hour north of Olympia.

So, definitely making the Blu-ray - commentary on Tonight's the Night - we have to go higher to do Outside the Box commentary, but I'm hoping we'll be able to do it. And, the Kimmel Movie Marathon trailer and for the first time anywhere EVER the uncut version of the Dirty Harry Strikes Back faux trailer from The Creature Wasn't Nice. To refresh: In my original cut of the film I hadn't included it at all, but when we did the DVD I was able to grab it from the DVD and put it in, but that version is severely truncated - literally, no one has seen the original. I would have put it on but I had no idea I'd ever actually done a transfer from the 16mm copy I had made and who knows where THAT is. But I had, I have it now, Marshall cleaned it up and on it will go and everyone will finally see it uncut and with the great Kenneth Tobey's performance (he was the star of the original The Thing).
-
Super!
-
Good appointment news for DR George.
-
So glad you had a wonderful visit, DR Ginny!

Good night, friends.

No. And there were signs that mask-wearing was mandatory.

Good appointment news for DR George.
Thanks, Singdaw!
-
So, you're getting one shot only, George, is that right? Nice.
-
So, you're getting one shot only, George, is that right? Nice.
Yup. The Johnson and Johnson. I haven't been keeping track of the different (potential) side effects of the different vaccines, so it'll be what it'll be.
-
Best of luck with it.
-
I'm off to bed.
-
Hope TCB is feeling and breathing better.
-
Good night, all.
-
Eating a cube steak with sautéed onions - very good.
-
Ninety minutes later - finished with my viewing and no posts for ninety minutes.

No. And there were signs that mask-wearing was mandatory.
Did you ask why they permitted her to break the rules? If you change your appointment day I suggest making sure the situation will not be repeated with another maskless client.

Interesting.... I've got Ted Chapin's book about Follies, "Everything Was Possible," on my Kindle. But apparently it is no longer available for purchase in that format.
Yes, I just bought the book, and I couldn’t get it for Kindle. I had to buy the paperback.

I wish i could buy a CD of WONDERFUL LIFE. I played Uncle Billy (I could walk then) in a production and I really liked the score.

You always have to wonder what prompts those kinds of warnings! :o
Well, if you turn the shirt inside out, the kid will fall on the floor anyway.

Best of luck with it.
Thanks, John!

So, you're getting one shot only, George, is that right? Nice.
Yup. The Johnson and Johnson. I haven't been keeping track of the different (potential) side effects of the different vaccines, so it'll be what it'll be.
I think the major differences are with the protection they offer.
Ahh...I'll have to look into that. :-\

Hi, Tom.

So, BK, how far did you get in talks to record all of Harnick and Raposo’s Wonderful Life score? Or was it just a pipe dream?

A recording of that would be cool. I recently got an opera version of the show, but I haven't listened to it, yet.

I've got some time before the appropriate season comes around again.

Where's TCB? Where's George? Where's Poppa?
Tom and I are here. :)

That Gloria Swanson painting is beautiful!

BK, I was here when you signed on!

Interesting.... I've got Ted Chapin's book about Follies, "Everything Was Possible," on my Kindle. But apparently it is no longer available for purchase in that format.
Yes, I just bought the book, and I couldn’t get it for Kindle. I had to buy the paperback.
Now I will have to work out for several weeks, so that I can hold this large paperback.

Sharry and I met up for lunch today.

Hang tight, changing the topic.
