And uncredited (at least on imdb)

DR RonP re: GREASE.

The part i don't get about bringing back matt and ashley is that their singing is so weak.  That's the part that surprises me most. If they were stronger vocally then i think i could understand bringing back 2 people who the fans like (they couldn't know who the fans would like).

I wonder if they think that the reason these two are weaker singers is merely because they do not have the experience.

I think they were brought back because someone wants to get in their pants! May have succeeded, for all I know.

I believe they "think" they're weaker singers because the "proof is in the puddin'"!  To wit, they ARE weak singers.  Compared to the rest of the auditioners, they're strictly amateurs.  Neither sang a song that showcased any vocal strengths they may have.  If either had a powerhouse voice, "much" could be forgiven.  But last night's vocals were dismal, compared to the rest of the men and women there.

For Danny, I'm pulling for Austin.  For Sandy, I'm undecided.

I'm thinking someone behind the scenes believed that Matt and Ashley might improve sufficiently during competition and with an opportunity to work with vocal coaches on a daily basis.

Only time will tell....if it hasn't run out already, that is (we'll know when the voting results are announced).

For those who watch THE KNIGHTS OF PROSPERITY, ABC has moved it back a half hour to the 8:30 p.m. timeslot to get it out of the way of AMERICAN IDOL. Since IDOL began, the KNIGHTS have taken a nose dive in the ratings, so ABC is at least trying to salvage the show, and I'm glad. It's a funny, endearing show that deserves a chance to catch on.

DerBrucer - Skip IS credited in the final credits for FRIENDS AND FAMILY, though.  And got paid.  :)

The imdb is often incomplete on individual songs.  I think Skip didn't get credit on imdb for the Disney video he wrote songs for either, even though he's in the closing credits there, too (and at least they send the royalty checks to the right place).

TPunk:

My recommendations:

My Brother Nikhil (unless the group would not care for subtitles)

An Early Frost: Of historical value, anyway.

I'd bet the producers of last night's NBC show would love to see him in grease.

My thoughts re: Ashley and Matt- I think the producers simply like their look. I can't tell you how many casting sessions I sat through with crappy actors the producers wanted brought back because of how well they matched the producers ideas of how the characters should look.

Thanks for all the movie ideas everyone. I saw some of the suggested titles during my research today, but wasn't sure if they were any good. It helps to have the recommendations. I'm going to continue doing more research on them tomorrow.

TPunk - I don't know the format of your group, but if your research suggests that FRIENDS AND FAMILY is appropriate, I could ask the screenwriter (Joe Triebwasser, who's also a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, and was named one of Variety's "ten screenwriters to watch" the year the movie came out) if he'd be willing to come in to answer questions from the group about the movie.

No---it was because I didn't post the link!

If you're a member (it's free) you can add your credits to a film, especially if you are listed in the credits. (Some people who did work on but didn't make the credit cut can still list themselves as "uncredited".)

Go for it!

Back from Mr. Geissman's with a fresh and lovely new mix for the Kritzer Time songs.  I've imported them into iTunes, am burning a new CD with all the Kritzer songs, which I'll then use as the master.  I didn't know you could burn data files into iTunes, but you can.

Will we never get to page nine - let's do so, just for the halibut.  Otherwise, I might get a haddock.
