Back, no opera for Chas tonight.  So, a movie instead, after I do some things I'd procrastinated on earlier.

Chas, have any of us bothered to ask you if you mind us calling you Chas?

Elmore is probably drunk and passed out at his computer.

You see right through me.

I'm totally comfortable with people calling me whichever name they wish.  I'm Charles to most everyone, but a few friends have actually come up with "Chas" as a nickname all on their own, and I'm totally happy with it.  There's a whole segment of people from my past who know me as Charlie, which is jarring to those who hear it now, but that, too, is totally comfortable for me.  I'll respond happily to any and all of the above.

I actually always rather liked this (antiquated) abbreviation for the name.  It's what I've generally used online in some variation or other, which probably started when I wanted something short, so I automatically went with it when joining HHW.

I think the only related name I can happily do without is Chuck.  It's fine on other people, but I am not a Chuck.

Rehearsal was good - much more energy and she's really been working on it during the last couple of weeks.  Some picks to nit, but she's getting it.

Here's the shocker of the day: I'm close to having to repress the Nudie Musical Blu and Ray - which means we've sold almost five hundred copies, which is most wonderful.  I know it may not seem like a lot, but selling that number means the disc is actually into profit and has covered all of its costs - transfer (remember that the Kickstarter covered a bit less than half that cost), pressing, design, and printing.

Based on tomorrow's forecast for 100+ temps and foul air pollution, Mom and I have postponed our shopping trip.

I'm listening to the new Broadway cast recording of Evita, starring Elena Roger.  I'm enjoying it.  I remember that I also enjoyed the 2006 London cast recording, also with Elena Roger.

Patti's recording, however, is the best...and will always be. :D

George, those are blatant bootlegs - they know Warners and Universal won't be bothered to come after them - it's taken from vinyl and sounds like crap.  And it makes companies like mine even more reluctant to release them.

I wondered about that.
So, then, here's the dilemma. I can listen to my vinyl of "Donnybrook," but I never could get my hands on a copy of "A Time for Singing." So, buy the bad CD to hear the score or never hear the score?

The East Coast Singer, Lanny, and I went to the Studio Cafe - since I'd had a salad and a bagel for lunch, I had some eggs and no potatoes.
