Oh, and thanks, DR DAW, for the links to the site for viewing the Tony pre-show. Very thoughtful of you, and saved me searching for it.

I really would like to see Constantine Maroulis take home a Tony. . .it doesn't even have to be an award, he can take me home.  But of course, first he would have to take me higher. . .

Don't know if the designer is nominated, but someone should get an award for spraying on Constantine Maroulis' pants in ROCK OF AGES.

I read an interview with Constantine in which he stated he knew the three boys playing Billy Elliott were going to win, so he seems resigned to be a Tony nominee. Still a wonderful accomplishment.

As for Alice Ripley, I hope she DOES win. She deserved to win with Emily Skinner for SIDESHOW, so they OWE her a Tony.

Thanks for the travel vibes. The Weather Chabbel seems all excited about possible tornados in the area where I'll be landing.  I'm hoping all storms wait until after we land

Alice Ripley should win, and will I predict.  I'm still not certain that the Awards committee is going to award one award to the three youths in BILLY ELLIOTT since they have careers ahead of them in which to prove themselves.

There was a very nice Tony Award concert presented by one of the New York channels - it was shot at the Hudson Theater and featured the performers in street clothes performing numbers from their shows.  It was quite a good show.  Carole Shelley practically stole the show singing her song from BILLY ELLIOT.  The gals from GUYS AND DOLLS were quite weak.  Matt Cavenaugh looked good.  If you haven't seen it, I suggest tracking it down somewhere.

You can be fat or bony.
You can come by dog or pony,
But there's only place that is in the know.

You can watch on Muntz or Sony
If you want the dirt on Tony
Be at HHW while you scope the show.

Exccept it's not a committee that awards the prizes. It's the entire membership (over 700) who vote on the awards. The committee nominates.

Well, I need to go get the laundry ready for washing. This is going to be a very busy day what with laundry, cooking, my work project viewing and writing, and the Tonys.

I have to get my laptop ready to participate in the Tony party later this evening. That will take some time for sure.

Thanks JRand.  I can always tell I've had a good trip when I feel like it was a good time but I'm really ready to go back home. I think this is it for traveling this year, other than driving to the lake and my class reunion.

I will say while there aren't that many things I miss about living in the Southwest, the desert mountains are one of them. I love the way they change as the light changes.  I was very happy to have a great view of them from my hotel window.   I'll post some photos when I get home.

Good morning everyone.

I've been awake 2 hrs trying to decide what to do today in order of priorities.

Of course coffee came first, I've been going to Gelson's at 7AM on Sat. and Sun. morning.
Their danish are really good. (I was supposed to stop drinking coffee for my stomach, years ago, so I do not own a coffee pot at home).

At 11:00, I'll call my dad's place, if he answers the phone, good.  If he's being stubborn and not answering I'll drive over there with the keys and check on him.  I think it's time to see what he wants to do.  His drivers license expires on the 14th, and I don't see how they will renew it.  He still says he's going back to work.
