Well, you've read the notes, the notes approached the midnight hour but the midnight hour was busy waltzing with the clock, and now it is time for you to post until the midnight cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HORRIPILATION!
-
Jason, send me a reminder e-mail and I'll get it to Cassara.

Word of the day: Patti LuPone's Greatest Hits Cd

I'm tired and I'm tired.
-
Will we never get to page two?
-
Off the top of my head, I'd have to have The Best Years Of Our Lives, Chinatown, Rosemary's Baby, The Court Jester, The White Sheik.
-
iPod is on. Mr. Wechter read my new lines and liked them, and added a couple more of his own - the stuff we've fixed is MUCH funnier and better now - some Brain lines, some Zubrick and Yoni lines, but mostly General Mills' act two scenes.
-
How much do I love the score to A Patch Of Blue - I'd say that in the scheme of things, I've probably played this soundtrack more than any other in the years since the LP came out.
-
I am my own frenzy.
-
I will single-handedly take us to page two.
-
Even the GUESTS are WUSSBURGERING.
-
I've been watching Divorce, American Style on my bedroom DVD player. Very dated, but some of it still evokes laughter.
-
Some of the other unavailable DVDs I got are The Victors, which I've never seen, Run Wild, Run Free, Scream Of Fear, Wichita (with Joel McCrea), several interesting B-westerns, The Virgin Soldiers, That Darn Cat and The Truth About Spring (both with Hayley Mills), Isadora, Jeanne Eagles, Inside Daisy Clover, The Big Mouth, Three On A Couch, and Hook, Line, and Sinker (the latter three Jerry Lewis films), all in anamorphic transfers.
-
My MGM musicals box was missing The Pirate. I'm returning it.
-
People come, people go, like Grand Hotel.
-
No posts in four minutes. I shall have to bitch-slap myself from here to eternity and hell and back.
-
I'm tired and I'm tired. Perhaps I shall go to bed.
-
Tomovoz is just sitting there like so much fish.
-
DR GunSling is awake and still losing his mind.
-
TomovOz often is still logged on when not at the PC!

Mind officially lost now.

But does your clock approach?

Let's leave my clock out of this ;)

Last night, DR FJL wrote:

I didn't know that DR Julie had gone on for Patti.
Congratulations! :P

I typed it very carefully. Didn't want you have to call in a second.

DR Cillaliz -
GREAT news on two fronts! Glad your new assistant is working out so well, and can't wait to meet you here in NYC for the NYMF!!!!! :)
-
Depite the wonderful Patti reports - I suspect I would have rather have seen Julie in the role.
-
or FJL in the role for that matter.
-
Sounds like a Subway reference - "FJL in a roll",
At least I'd be smiling a lot!
-
DR FJL has only done drag [on stage] once, that I recall.
-
In real life...
Who knows? ;)
-
DR TomovOz - I take my leave now to walk Zach. May you and DP Colin both have sweet dreams!
-
I'm sure Lucy would do a wonderful Fred's Turn. (or should that be in reverse) (Sort of a Sondheim reference)
-
Thanks DR FlungSung. Enjoy the walk.

Thursday....tonight is the first read thru of THE SUNSHINE BOYS, so I will be missing the Act Two run thru of THE FANTASTICKS.

I see Starfighter is to be helmed by the wonderful Elizabeth Lucas, who staged The Company of Women for me with Alma Cuervo, Alicia Irving and others about five years ago. I thought she was going to direct Stagecoach Mary, so my questions are:
Whatever happened to Stagecoach Mary?
Are there other NYMF casualties?
Do we think Mary perished for lack of funds, because Such Good Friends is seriously in need of backing. :o

singdaw and Tomovoz - Luckily I got to do my Lucy's Turn early in the CHARLIE BROWN performance. My "Do You Know Something Schroeder, I think the way you play the piano is nice" was the stuff of legends. No one could touch it.
Nor would they want to. :)

My emotional, compassionate delivery (revisionist back in 1973) of Lucy saying "That'll be five cents, please" at the end of "The Doctor Is In" presaged a life that would mix theater and finance.

DR FJL, these things take much practice. A skill developed over time. Practice practice practice. I am putting in my time. One day, it might even get me to Carnegie Hall.

I need a course in remedial Stargazing. I didn't notice my two near-brushes with a celebrity last night, and essentially had to be told by Julie to look at who was talking with the person I just shoved out of the way. :)

I have enjoyed reading the bios and credits of all our HHW
rich and famous over at the NYMF site.

I almost never recognize stars or celebs--they usually have to be pointed out to me. I think the only celeb that I ever spotted for myself on the street was film critic Dennis Cunningham.

DR George, I think seeing Young Frankenstein is very exciting, Can't wait to hear your impressions of it and what you thought if it...

George said "I know it's not The Brain or The Last Starfighter or Such Good Friends at NYMF, but it'll do...for now."
Ah, yes. The NYMF Trifecta.
(That would make a good Fringe show.)

Good morning, all! Today is a triumphant return to the NYPL after thepack-the-office hell of the last few weeks. I look forward to seeing my friends there and maybe accomplishing somethng today. I also have to finish up Mr Kevin Spirtas' last chart and drop off an orchestration to Mr Ron Raines, who may be still in Portland, Maine, attending the opening night of his wife's production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Charlotte sent me an email that Harry Potter arrived at dance camp.
Last night, I had Mexican food and margaritas with my friend Time Winters, who just played Pellinore in the Michael York tour of CAMELOT. I hadn't seen him since I was mixing something in LAS with BK around 1997 - I met him for breakfast at Du-Par's - and it was great to catch up on things. Mr York has left the production and Lou Diamond Phillips is replacing him. Time is not staying with the production; he's auditioning this morning for A TALE OF TWO CITIES. I hope he gets the role.
BK, did you get my package? Speaking of auditioning, Jason is on the list of requested people I received from Michael Cassara on July 13, but Anthony's name was not.

DR Noel, I believe it was the failure to achieve some of the anticipated funding that closed down Stagecoach Mary. After the reading, I had heard that all of the financing had been settled, so I really don't know what happened.

Good morning!
Was sleeping well until an upset stomach awakened me at 6 a.m. Got up and did various things for 90 minutes, went back to bed, and slept another 90 minutes. Not the best start to the morning.
Did have cool enough morning temperatures to open everything up, but it's not VERY cool, just passable. I'll be closing things up presently.

It will just be my luck to get my MGM Musicals box and THE PIRATE also be left out, the one film in there I'm most wanting to have on a commercial DVD.
I've been so disheartened about the box not arriving that I'm not sure what I'll watch today while waiting for the mail to arrive. I have two more episodes in the MOONLIGHTING set which would be nice to watch and get put back on the shelf. And I'll be starting THE MUPPET SHOW 2 if that set comes today. Looking forward to seeing all of those episodes again. (I bought some of those sets that had three episodes on a disc introduced by Brian Henson, and I'm sure some of those are from Season 2).

What a way to start the day, seeing this greeting as I logged onto HainesHisWay.com:
Please welcome SUPERPORNOGAYS, our newest member.
I refuse to speculate to whom it might actually refer!

Does the name "Bobby Hoffman" (sp?) mean anything to you?
-
Bruce Kimmel:
Does the name "Bernadette" mean anything to you in reference to an actress who had a line in a movie:
"Alcohol makes me horny"
Which prompted several guys in the scene to push their drinks toward her?
-
If the name was Superpornogaze, it might mean our dear DR Elmore has competition!
-
Bruce Kimmel:
Does the name "Gary" ring any bells...a "Gary" who once had "Horshack hair" and wore a leather jacket...who was a struggling young actor in the early 80s and is now a writer?
-
To explain myself, Bruce, I was listening to the Stephanie Miller Show on Quake Radio this morning (960 FM). She was on the phone with Gary and they were discussing the "good old days"...and Bobby Hoffman whom they both knew and worked with in order to get parts on TV comedies.
If you knew any of these folks, I thought you'd probably like to know.

If the popular series of children's horror stories, Goosebumps, had been titled HORRIPILATION instead, would anyone have read them?
"Horripilation Theater?" Yeah, I'd have tuned in just to see what it could possibly mean.

-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I had a bad dream last night. Well, a very unsettling one at the least...
I was the musical director/musical for a show. I think Jack O'Brien was the director - or at least someone who looked like him. And Carol Burnett was one of the stars, if not thee star. It seemed the rehearsals were going relatively well, and then when it came time for a major run-thru, as soon as I started playing the Overture (on the piano), Ms. Burnett comes over to me, and grabs my wrists while I'm trying to play. WHAT?!?!?!? I hear the director - Jack O'Brien?? - start to yell something while looking over at me. I try to show him that Carol is literally preventing me from playing. Someone calls, "Hold!", and they start to reset for the top of the show. Then the director comes over to me, "I'm sorry, but we have some other people interested in doing the show." WHAT?!?!? -I wasn't even sure if I was fired. In any case...
What was really weird was that this dream occurred in stages. I remember waking up after part of the dream to go to the bathroom... Then the dream continued... Then I remember getting up out of bed to turn my alarm off, then getting back in to bed to laze for a while... Then the dream continued again... So...
Just plain weird. And I think I may need to head to the Reservoir for a light jog to help clear it all out of my head. And maybe even scream a little bit. ???
-
DR Jose ~ Case will arrive in NYC on Aug. 8 and remain through Oct. 1. I think we've found a sublet.
OK. Just thought I'd check in since there I may have an option here at my apartment, however...

Personally, I preferred the spoof of the Strident/Kristofferson film, done by Carol Burnett and Glen Campbell... of the album cover!
They were clandestine lovers who were stuck in that pose when one of her brats poured superglue all over them! Just wait 'til Daddy gets home!
-
Six-packed, maybe.

More likely twelve-packed! Or other multiples of six! With the grand finale, we'll totally lose count! Whoo-hoo!!!!!

Good morning, HHW!
Five pages already! My, my.

In tracking my errant-and-truant Classic MGM Musicals Box, Part II, I have been informed by UPS that the box, which was shipped from Lexington KY on the 23rd -- and was supposed to have been delivered yesterday the 25th -- has been YET AGAIN rescheduled for delivery and won't reach me before tomorrow, the 27th.
Of all the items I ordered for delivery this week -- all of which arrived EARLY -- THIS was the one I've wanted the most and, it follows, is the one that the fates have conspired to deprive me of.
(And yes, I deliberately ended the sentence above with a preposition).
-
So... -And maybe all of this crap contributed to my dream last night... When I got home Tuesday night, I wanted to cook some hamburgers on the grill. And I had stopped at Whole Foods to pick up some good burgers too on the way home for that very purpose. Well... After removing the grill cover and lifting the hood, I noticed that there were two hamburgers left in there - complete with buns and cheese. WHAT?!?!?! Thankfully(?), they had just managed to dry out, dehydrate, over the past two weeks, so they weren't decomposing and attracting bugs. They felt pretty solid. Oh, and, of course, the rest of the grill wasn't cleaned off either - lots of grease drippings, lots of melted cheese, etc. -And then there was all the other grease that had dripped down below onto the propane tank and onto the stone tiles... :-\
In any case, after I had cleaned off the grill and cooked my dinner and cleaned the grill again, I left an appropriate note on the fridge for the person in question. -Guess who? And I also put the two hamburgers in a Zip-Loc bag and left them on the counter just in case the roomie in question just happened to want them still. ;)
So, a couple of minutes ago, the roommate in question came down, asked me not to leave notes on the fridge, said it had started raining when they started to clean up after the party, etc., etc., etc... I just nodded, and said, "Oh, OK." And then she left.
Was I being passive-aggressive? Well, yes. To an extent. However, there are many other issues here. -Including a very stern call from our landlord the other morning for the bags of trash that had been left in the backyard - which is forbidden according to the terms in our lease. To which the roomie in question responded, "Oh, I'm sorry. I guess forgot to check again in the morning. I'll take care of them when I get home later." :-\
So...Well.. I think that was enough venting for now. We're gonna try to set up a "house meeting" sometime in the next few days. -Of course, the last two or three times we tried to set one up, the roomie in question decided to spend the whole night out with her boyfriend, and contributed her thoughts via e-mail. Which, of course, makes it very hard to respond to.

Would you like for me to look it over and check it out?
That probably would have been a good idea, but I got tired of messing with this (checking all this stuff out on the internet takes time!) and it was like a puzzle with trying to find something while Case was there for Bukowsical and then for him and BJ (not mine, but DH and I were willing to adopt him for a month) for The Brain and then when I come for that week -- that I finally said screw this, took the plunge, and went with what I hope will work. Sadly, no. ;)
However, that's the reason I'm a bit hesitant to offer the upcoming vacancy to anyone if this air is not cleared her over the next couple of days.

I think it goes without saying that your roomie is a very nice person who has had her way all her life and has managed to excuse her thoughtlessness successfully at every turn.
You need to be firm, insistent -- and not unkind -- but to let her know that it is NOT ALL RIGHT that she does these thoughtless, "forgetful" things....that there are always consequences, such as her other roommates being imposed upon and the possibility that your landlord may use her disregard of rules (again, "forgetfulness") to raise your rent or toss you out.
She obviously doesn't consider your shared accommodation a "home"...or she doesn't consider it your "shared home" since she does things to suit only herself.
The rain issue is an "excuse" and not a solution to the problem that she didn't clean up after cooking on the grill.
Hard feelings WILL be expressed by her, Jose, but remember to be calm and think "kind" thoughts while being firm and insistent.

DR ELmo ~ I may need you to pick up the key early for us, though, if they'll let me use a rep in place of Case. Otherwise, if we can't get the key until the next day during working hours, he may need to camp on your "balcony" for the night. I'll keep you posted on the key exchange method.

Good morning, fellow Dear Readers.
-
Am I the only person here who wonders why DRs Jason and Jose are not roommates?
-
I am glad to hear the DR DerBrucer is ok. Many typos have gone uncorrected lately.
-
The History Boys, DR Jose? That shirtless scene is only about 10 seconds long! ;)
And she asked you not to leave notes on the fridge?? Did you, in turn, ask her not to make so much f**king noise when she's upstairs f**king her boyfriend? Or not to leave rotting meat on the grill for two weeks? I'd have fashioned a shank out of those petrified burgers and cut the b**ch right then and there. ;)
As for the rain excuse...has it been raining for two weeks and I just didn't notice? It must've been raining for two weeks to explain away why she couldn't have gotten that grill cleaned up. Or why she didn't at least throw away the two rotting patties of meat that she left out there. How could I have missed all that rain?? (And maybe you guys should spring a surprise house meeting while she's there so she doesn't accidentally miss it again...)
Just my $.02.

Tell Former DR Cason to check in more often. I thought he was staying here the month of August!
He was, and we were, thinking that, too, but the more we talked about it, the more that old saying "How are guests/company like fish -- after three days they go bad .. get smelly...should be thrown out ... are no longer intriguing ... etc." kept coming up. His DF and I just felt that was too much to ask of someone, especially someone we want to keep as a dear friend, to put someone (even sweet little Boo-Key) up for that long. (I can't think of anyone I'd want hanging out at my house for several weeks, but of course that's me -- I like my space and my home is my castle and I don't like strangers around bugging me). Then there was the BJ factor since BK indicated that he wants all the Brain folks there at the end of August, and then I'd be coming, etc. etc. etc. -- just thought your balcony might give way. Yesterday was when I had it and took the plunge -- so the 2-month sublet to solve the puzzle is most recent (and Cason is down in Tucson spending the week with Heather so no one has heard from him.... )
-
Another cool cloudy day. I hope it rains today. The localized showers were all around town, but we got the smallest sprinkle here -- not enough to do any good at all.
-

We - meaning the other three people who live here - know that she will be expressing some "hard feelings". And we've known this for the past couple of weeks. But, again, each time we've tried to set up a meeting, something just seems to come up. The "lead roommate" here - who also happens to be one of her oldest friends - is sending her an e-mail today to ask when she'd be available for a meeting with everyone else. And he's also going to be up front about some of the issues that have come up over the past couple of weeks. Alas, these issues happen to coincide with her new relationship, boyfriend. So, yes, we know there's bound to be some hard feelings. *And the elephant in the room is the fact that she told us two weeks ago that she had had a set of keys made for her boyfriend so that he come over after his double-shifts at work. At 6:00AM. Of course, she made the set of keys before asking/telling any of us.
In short, she's "whipped" right now. And she's got it bad, and that ain't good. Normally, she's been the "supervisor" in regards to making sure the kitchen was clean, the floors mopped, etc. But, lately, she's just not been here. And even when she has been here, she's been spending all the time in her room - whether or not her boyfriend is here. -And then she'll come down and make the semi-random comment, "Sheesh! I don't think I've seen you guys in days? I don't even know the last time I watched anything on the DVR?" Well... So...
Again, hopefully, the air will be cleared sometime over the next couple of days. Or, at the very least, we'll all be able to talk to each other in person.
-
How big is your apartment, Jose?

Well, a surprise meeting has been suggested. However, each time we've tried to do that, the boyfriend has been over. So... However, if worse comes to worse, the boyfriend may just have to leave the apartment for a bit. -And since he already has a set of keys... :-\
And, yes, I did think of leaving the hamburgers in her room, on her bed. Along with the Fresh Direct boxes that she forget - twice! - to put out for recycling.
-
How big is your apartment, Jose?
Two floors, three and half bedrooms, two full baths (one with shower, one with bath), full kitchen, W/D in the apartment(!), and a finished backyard. -Oh, and a fire escape too.
-
And we have digital cable with DVR, and wireless internet too. And we're a block from the A/C, B/D subway lines, and three blocks from the 1 Train.
I like it here.
-
And there's now a Starbucks a block away too, and New York Sports Club due to open in a few weeks. Plus, a 24-hour Pathmark, a Popeye's Chicken, plus a bunch of Chinese carry-out counters and fried fish places all within a few blocks.
-As well as three Police Precincts, including one right in the subway station, all within a five block radius.
-
Well, I need to do some stretching. My IT (ilio-tibial) Band is acting up again, so...
Laters...

Which westerns did you get BK?
-
DR Jose has a loverly apartment...it's quite spacious.
I need to get ready to go into the city. I don't want to just yet, but I need to. And I'm trying to figure out what to have for lunch. I'm starting back with Weight Watcher's today after my week-long vacation, so I need to get back into the swing of counting my points...

I'm up and have done the e-mails and morning telephonic calls. One e-mail I received was most amusing. It was about our Sondheim CD - and its writer went on and on about how wonderful it was and how "historic" it was, and the love letter the CD had gotten in the Sondheim Review. The writer then went on to ask what had happened, why more people didn't know about the release - had Kritzerland dropped the ball, etc. Funnily, the way in which it was worded sounded exactly like several postings made on Internet chat boards (minus the Kritzerland chastisement) - said postings revealed to have been written by the producers of the CD (that was obvious to me the minute I read them, because they have a certain "style" of writing. I responded as nicely as I could and suggested that if the author of the letter knew about the CD then the word is out at least that much. I'm keeping the e-mail, however - you never know when it might come in handy.
-
RLP - Gary and Bernadette don't ring a bell, but I knew Bobby Hoffman very well. He was a wonderful guy - I met him on my very first guest shot - The Young Lawyers. He was the dialogue coach on the show, and he sort of took me under his wing and helped me adjust for the camera and not be so nervous. Later, he was the dialogue coach on Happy Days, and I saw him many times over the years.

it is literally right around the corner from the Acorn.
Party #2!
And that's a great neighborhood, as Fred & Skip would agree. I have spent much time right there!
-
Good Morning!
Hope you don't run into Carol Burnett, who knows what you would do ;)
-
Evict the Bitch!
That's exactly what I was thinking, but could never be as eloquent about it as you are DR Elmore....can't wait to see you
-
Hope you don't run into Carol Burnett, who knows what you would do ;)
;)
I'd probably just start laughing hysterically while she starts to run away from me. ;D
However, I'm still trying to picture who the director was in my dream. I only said Jack O'Brien because the guy sort of looked like Jack O'Brien, and I sensed he was someone BIG in the biz, so... Now that I think of it, it could have been Bob Avian since I've been around ACL the past couple of days with him in the theatre. Who knows? Of course, if I ever come across "Jack O'Brien" on the street, or worse, at an audition, who knows how I'll react.
-

-
OK, I think that the last weekend of September we should gather all the HHWers for a BIG party at Jose's apartment. A big, raucous party. With lots of grilling!
Actually, I was thinking of hosting something here while the gang is in town. Most likely a brunch. -Like I've been hinting at doing for the past year or so. Guess it's time to make good on the promise.
-
Or maybe you tell her you're having a meeting and if the boyfriend is there and she doesn't want him to leave...let him hear it.
Well... We all have the feeling that if she did indeed want him to stay here, she'd want him to sit right next to her during the meeting. As a shield, as it were. And/or a shelter. So... It just needs to be the four of us. And if not... Well, there's gonna be a whole lotta writing on the dry erase board on the fridge!
-

Thanks Edi - I am thrilled to. I agonized over the decision for days before I finally decided I couldn't go...the universe must have other things in mind because it was the day after I decided that it became possible. Funny how that happens

That is great when that happens. And I just had a sort of similar experience here. There had been too annoying phone calls I had to make, and I finally made them today, just a few minutes ago. And, surprisingly - and relieved-ly - they were totally non-annoying and, in fact, quite pleasant. It's great when that happens. :)

Ok, gotta get back to work, I have an appointment arriving soon....
-
Oh, and I did my stretching too. The unfortunate part of having my IT band flare up again is that I'm supposed to not run or jog. At all. Until it gets back to normal. :-\ I made a stop at the Runner's Store in the Time-Warner Center, and one of the very-helpful clerks in there showed me a few stretches, and also suggested an inexpensive wrap-thingy that helps alleviate the pain. -And would make it possible for me to do some light jogging. So... I also need to get a new pair of shoes since my daily ones seem to be worn out - which probably contributed to my present condition.
-
And we could eat in her room and leave our used plates and cups there, because it was raining so we couldn't find the garbage can or the sink
And we didn't want to make a mess, so we just hid them under the bed.

Of course, that would be only after I order so much food from Fresh Direct that I have to put her stuff in the fridge in other places, and leave the remaining boxes in the dining room... And, of course, I would use her mini-food processor and good knives too. -But, I would at least know just how much liquid you can put into a food processor before it all starts leaking out the hole in the middle. *I will say, she has never used my good knives, she has her own set. And she asked to use my big food processor before using it, and I even showed her how to set it up, and the fill lines. However, I could not prevent all that olive oil and red wine vinegar from getting all over the counter-tops and dripping down onto the cabinets. -Which, in her defense, she did clean up. Just sayin', that's all. ;)

Regarding the finding of a home for Carolyn Kearney's dog: Her son Charlie's e-mail that went out to people this morning. If anyone can help or even offer vibes for finding this wonderful dog a wonderful home ASAP, it would be very much appreciated.
**********************************************
To my LA friends and those who may have friends there:
I called a few of you about this yesterday but, in case you'd like to pass on information to others via an e-mail or printing something out, this mini mass e-mail might be of assistance. This situation is pretty time-sensitive so I am doing all I can to achieve a prompt solution so, in advance, I thank all of you for any help you can provide. I'll delay the suspense no further:
A few weeks ago my stepfather, Alan Hirshfeld, suffered a serious stroke. The ramifications of this event are many and varied, but all indications suggest that, though he is showing episodes of partial recovery, it is unlikely that he will ever be able to fully look after himself again and, accordingly, will never again be able to look after CODA, the Golden Retreiver I gave him and my late Mother when I decided to move to New York.
So, the effort has begun to find CODA a new, loving home. Naturally, I will not consider sending him to a shelter with cages, etc... Currently, he is staying with my Aunt, Sylvia. Her home is located near the LA/West Hollyood border in the hills above the intersection of Sunset and Doheny. If you or anyone you know would like to see CODA, let me know and I will put you in touch with Sylvia to arrange a meeting.
Here is some bullet-points about our pooch:
-He is a male and was born on February 25th, 1999.
-I bought him in Lanacaster, CA. from a professional, AKC-affiliated breeder who deals exclusively with "Goldens".
-He was fixed at 5 months and, as a result, has a naturally sweet temperment. He has all his shots and, just the other day, was fully checked at the vet.
-Coda is the son of 2 well-bred Goldens. At least one of them was a champion with a "show" history.
-Coda's life has never known a day without love and attention and, therefor, he has a loyal nature and is instinctively protective of his environment.
-He adores children and would be a welcome asset to any loving family and, to be sure, he is always in the mood to play, go for a walk, to the beach, etc... Naturally, he is fully housebroken and does not bite.
So, those are the basics. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. You all have my e-mail and contact info.
Though this adoption may not feasible for you personally, if any of you happen to know of a couple or family in LA or vicinity who might be interested in CODA, feel free to put me in touch with them or give them my e-mail or phone #.
On behalf of Alan, I thank all of you very much for your help.

He was, and we were, thinking that, too, but the more we talked about it, the more that old saying "How are guests/company like fish -- after three days they go bad .. get smelly...should be thrown out ... are no longer intriguing ... etc."
That only happens when DR MBarnum visits.
-
We - meaning the other three people who live here - know that she will be expressing some "hard feelings".
Ask her what % of the Rent the Boyfriend will be paying!

Well, I need to do some stretching. My IT (ilio-tibial) Band is acting up again, so...
Another euphemism?
-
They might fight over who is the greater Sondheim fan.
;)
Or jobs in Central Park!
-
Another euphemism?
Given that it's a "band," I'm thinking it's a euphonious euphemism.
-
That's exactly what I was thinking, but could never be as eloquent about it as you are DR Elmore....can't wait to see you

As long as Carol Burnett is appearing in people's dreams, I'm wondering who, today, is like Carol Burnett, then? I'm talking very warm, very funny, powerhouse singers between 40-54, lovable and wacky, not a particularly contemporary feel...

Faith Prince?
Kristin Chenoweth?

My thoughts, for what it's worth (which is absolutely nothing):
1. Only people whose names are on the lease and who pay rent should have keys.
2. For those folks who don't eat hamburgers, perhaps you could roast a chicken. Be sure to remove the giblets and put them in the trash (which goes under her bed, since you can't find the trash can because it is raining). Rotting chicken bits are the worst!

Hope you enjoyed your vacation. We have missed you terribly!
Thanks for the cheers, and to DR Laura too! The break was quite nice: I don't like routine. Back to the city routine but August is always "slow" with most people away from Paris.
I hope you'll get a funny little movie (They say it opens in NYC next month!) I saw yesterday: 2 DAYS IN PARIS,
written, directed and acted by Julie Delpy... who also wrote songs she sings over the end credits!

RE: last night's SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE
I'm curious who people want to go. And who people think should go.
I think kameron and sara should go. I also would not care if lauren went (although she did well last night).
I like jaimie. I like sabra. I'm not crazy about lacey. But she is very popular.
I like danny. I like dominic alright (but he did not do well last night). I'm not crazy about pasha. I don't really care if neil stays or goes.
I like the idea of having solos choreographed for them. but i wasn't crazy about the routine they had them do.

This weekend the Orpheum summer movie series is showing Away From Her in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association. Has anyone seen it?
-
Just found this devastating news! So sad!
http://news.independent.co.uk/europe/article2802631.ece
-
When I left my house to come back to work there was a police officer sitting outside my house. I walked over to see what's up and he said he was just using my shade to write a report about a junky car he had to leave a ticket on. I said 'Oh, you mean the one that's always at the end of the block?' he said he didn't know that this was a regular thing and he'd keep an eye on it.
I told him I was a bit relieved because there was a flash of a bright light in my window in the middle of the night that I thought was probably the newspaper guy looking for the house number, but when I saw him I thought maybe something really happened. He probably thinks I'm looney

This weekend the Orpheum summer movie series is showing Away From Her in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association. Has anyone seen it?
Yes, I have. It's quite touching (Julie Christie plays... Julie Christie ;)) but some narrative manierisms irritated me. AND why does it always concern wealthy people and never ordinary gents like you and I?
-
Rotting chicken bits are the worst!
Worse than rotting fish?
I'm only asking for "educational" purposes...
-
Wasn't it shrimp that was put in the curtain rods?
-
Hi, François! Nice to have you back (where you belong!)

That looks like a fun movie!

I am kind of afraid to see AWAY FROM HER...I'm afraid it will be too sad. (I've had several family members who suffered from it.)
-
Revenge is a knish best served cold, or something like that.
-
Speaking of shrimp, I have just returned from lunch during which I had a bowl of shrimp bisque and two shrimp kebabs over rice.
-
I just know that rotting chicken giblets is bad. Very bad.

Good afternoon dear Esteemed and enchanted BK -

A new frock! How delightful. :)
-
Hello & Goodbye, DR MusicGuy! ***MOVING VIBES*** to you!
-
I spent the afternoon with MGM's THE PIRATE.
Yes, my MGM musical DVD box did indeed arrive today (with large numbers of other sets) Argh!
First, the good news: THE PIRATE looks lush with nicely saturated color and no grain: a very smooth and viewable image (if maybe a notch too dark for my taste; I think the laserdisc still has the right look for me). I only noticed one or two little blips in the image (a quick tear or bit of debris; I didn't run it backward to see what it actually was that flashed by, but it was very brief.)
But DR JMK was right about the audio: very problematic. The fidelity is limited in the mono mix offered here, but what's most annoying are occasional pops and snaps all throughout the movie. I even heard some flutter fairly early on which should be unthinkable in a movie of this repute. What on earth are those clicks?
-
Next, I listened to the John Fricke commentary. Very interesting and fair minded as always. Unlike Dr. Drew Casper who drooled over Lana Turner's every move in THE PRODIGAL, Fricke can praise Garland's work while also being completely objective about her.
He did make a mistake or two: e.g. saying "True Love" won the Oscar as Best Song when EVERYBODY knows "Que Sera Sera" won that year. :D
-
Next, I watched the 18 minute featurette on the making of the movie. Lots of familiar faces in the interview but also Gene Kelly's widow who I'm not sure I had ever seen in one of these documentaries before. Liza, DR Ron Pulliam's favorite Richard Barrios, Miles Krueger, and Fricke all gave their opinions of the film.
-
Finally, my favorite song in the movie "Mack the Black" was presented remixed in stereo surround. Since the fidelity is so narrow in the feature, I was really looking forward to seeing the number in full rich stereo.
Well, it's stereo surround all right but whoever was manning the controls turned down the VOCAL track in the center, and it sounds like Judy is singing in the distance while the MGM Orchestra is right in your living room. Stupid, stupid, stupid (a PLAN NINE and BRAIN reference).
So, overall, THE PIRATE DVD is a somewhat frustrating experience. If I get a chance over the next few days, I may put the laserdisc back in again and watch that version which I remember as being brighter, with clear sound minus pops and cracks.
-
Tonight I'll start on THE MUPPET SHOW - Season 2 which was among the sets which arrived today.
-
Oh, that's nice, DR Ron Pulliam. I hope you invited your delightful work colleagues along as well.
Not.
Two of my delightful work colleagues were with me.
-
Yes, I have. It's quite touching (Julie Christie plays... Julie Christie ;)) but some narrative manierisms irritated me. AND why does it always concern wealthy people and never ordinary gents like you and I?
Face it...we're boring...gents or not.

Richard Barrios -- UGH!
Does he "own" anything he says about "The Pirate" or is everything passed off as someone else's thoughts?

That made me laugh. A lot!
Well, I guess all the vibes worked! We move into the new office on Tuesday. Thank God this crisis is over.
And thank you, all, for the vibes and for putting up with me.

Woo Hoo, Elmore!!

Cool Beans Elmore....Congrats!!

"Hoo Ray" in big mega decibel shouts, for DEAR ELMORE !!!!!

George - Yay! on getting to see Young Frankenstein during the Seattle run. You must Please report back to us immediately when you can with all the details of how you liked the show. ;D
For the NY run that begins in October, they're selling many of the good seats for $450. >:(
I heard about those kinds of prices! That's downright outrageous!! Well, I certainly won't be paying that much. ::)
This'll be the second pre-Broadway show that I've seen. The first was Jekyll & Hyde with Robert Cuccioli and Linda (can't act her way out of a paper bag, but man, can she sing!!) Eder. ;) I wanted to see Princessess last year (or was it the year before?) with Brent Barrett, the WSMA (that's World's Sexiest Man Alive, in HHW lingo), but I didn't get the chance...nor did I have the money. :-\ But this time it's free!! ;D
-
I bought plastic "liner sheet" stuff (that goes on the surfaces of kitchen cabinet shelves), and sponges and spray cleaner this afternoon.
My life is just filled with excitement and glamour !

Good Evening!
Well, I ended up heading into midtown, and ended up having lunch with my dear old friend, Richard Barrios.

DR MusicGuy - Congrats on the move and the moving! Did you get the e-mail I sent you with the color and fabric
requirements choices for my spare room out there? ;)

DR elmore - WHEW! and YEAH! Sounds like the perfect excuse to have a margarita. Or two - especially since they are two-for-one. :)

What he said! Congrats, Larry, I hope you guys will be happy in your new place

And this is something you read about on the internet? or in a book?
-
DR George, I think seeing Young Frankenstein is very exciting
Me, too! :D
-
Can't wait to hear your impressions of it and what you thought if it...
Me, either!! ;D
-
Welcome back from your vacances, DR François!
-And what's this you say about vacancies in your hotel? ;)
-
BK, in response to your question from yesterday- I would be interested in auditioning when you are casting.
-
In any case...
I walked here, I walked there. Bryant Park was the first stop. I had wanted to get a salad at one of the 'wichcraft booths, but today's choices didn't seem too appealing to me. However, the Peanut Butter Cookie with Caramel Ice Cream 'wich was very appealing to me. And very yummy too! :)
-
Welcome back from your vacances, DR François!
-And what's this you say about vacancies in your hotel? ;)
Thank you! I am completely VACANT myself!! :)
-
Then it was over to Grand Central. Through Grand Central. Out of Grand Central... -However, I did pick up some spices and spice blends at Penzey's (more later on that). And then I decided to walk around a part of town I had never really explored before - midtown East.
I ended up walking over to the East Side, and made a stop at the United Nations building. I didn't go in, but I checked out some of the sculptures on the plaza, and they were also walking their security, bomb and drug-sniffing dogs then too - very cute.
And then I did something that I haven't done in a while, but used to do all the time.
When I first started coming up to NYC on a regular basis, my ritual was to either walk and/or drive by Stephen Sondheim's house on the way into the city and on the way out. It actually took me a little trial and error to remember the correct street number, but I did remember the house number and the look of the street. Finally, after realizing that my usual landmark corner was now one big hole in the ground, I got my bearings and did my walk. And I have to say, I still felt as school-girl silly and "afraid" as I did the first time I made the trek almost 20 years ago.
And then I continued a bit further up 3rd Avenue before cutting back across to the West Side. I made a stop at the market for some chicken breasts - I wanted grilled chicken for dinner tonight - and since I had just bought some cool spice rubs at Penzey's, well...
I've already cooked my dinner - and cleaned the grill ;), and it was quite yummy. And I have a couple of grilled chicken breast all set for meals later in the week.
-
Thank you! I am completely VACANT myself!! :)
Ce ne fait rien.
-
And now I have some dishes to wash, and since I did get a little "glow-y" while walking around, I need a shower too.
Laters...
-
DR elmore3003, what fantastic news. You deserve a break, finally!
Hoo and Ray.
-
TPunk, drop me an e-mail at haineshisway@aol.com and I'll forward it to our casting director.
-
Great news, Larry!
-
Finally finished with everything. No envelopes arrived today, but I did get a nice package from tomovoz.
-
thanks BK
-
And now I am off to the gym
-
Had a very productive work session this morning. It started out, as I knew it would, with the writer being very defensive about every word. I stopped that right away by doing what I always do - I said, "Fine, tell me, in your own words, what information you're trying to impart and what this opening scene is supposed to tell me. He couldn't do it clearly and he fumfered around and then finally realized that he needed to check his ego at the door.
After that, it was easy - we discussed the opening number for a long time, I gave him several sets of ideas how I thought it could work, and the information I thought that needed to be conveyed. Then we worked on the first fifteen pages - I told him we're not going further until we get the opening and these fifteen pages right. He liked many of the ideas I had, and finally began to understand about clarity in storytelling in a musical and what the function of the book is and what the function of the song is.
-
I then had to Fed Ex a package, make a delivery to Burbank, and the author and I also had lunch at Jerry's, where I ran into David Wechter's wife and his mother (David's out of town).
-
And did you ever get the carton I shipped?
-
I'll take your word, DR Larry Moore.
-
Hello Sailor.
(a response to RLP's gretting from 2 nights ago).
-
Congratulations - great news DR Elmore.
-
Welcome back DR François.
-
Where is DR TCB?
-
Perhaps reading that I have crossed to the Dark Side and have been listening to Arabian music has frightened DR TCB away.
-
Thank you to DR JimJam for the Pottery Link.
-
At last you have a response to your Pirate question DR JMK. Someone does read your posts.
I suspect I can live without the DVD set or ever seeing "The Pirate" again.
-
Imagine the thought of being trapped on that Desert island with the wrong list!
-
One name in my book: Judy Kaye!
I totally agree! And welcome back, François!!
-
François, WELCOME HOME! :D

Hi François. Did you do anything exciting during your time away from us?

Sorry, elmore, keep forgetting to answer you - yes, I got the package - thanks mucho.
We need those excellent vibes and xylophones funding vibes - this thing is just dragging on and on and I really need it to resolve itself.

Edi-As promised, our thoughts on SAVING GRACE.
We weren’t thrilled with it. Like Matt H we will give it one more chance to see how the show evolves. We are hoping the pilot set the premise for the show, allowing us to see the before & after Grace. If Grace isn’t more likable in the next episode chances are that will be it for us. As is we didn’t find anything endearing about her.

Don't you just hate when things drag on so!
Excellent vibes and xylophones funding vibes!

Edi-I have a Closer question for you.
Possible spoiler:
At the end of the last episode she is curled up on the bed exhausted. Is that a lead into a future storyline or simply how the episode ended?
Keith thinks she might be pregnant. I said I hope not, between the fever, wine & cold meds, which would be scary. I don’t expect you to comment on this statement. ;D

Yes, it is part of a storyline that will carry over into at least the next 4 episodes.
I just loaded a new episode, 309---directed by Kevin Bacon. He did a very good job!

That's nice they could work together.
Thanks for answering our question.

DR Elmore, Jose and you Broadway people...
Anyone familiar with a producer named Joe Harris? I saw his credit list on imdb, but that's about all I could find about him. Any icebreakers you can offer? My DH is interviewing him tomorrow.
The Margaret Whiting interview went very well, and he got to meet her husband, Mr. Jack Wrangler.

Sitting on my couch like so much fish and watching a DVD I'd rather turn off - That's Dancing. Trying to decide what's after that.
-
The Margaret Whiting interview went very well.
Nice to hear. I listen to her almost every day on my car radio. :)

Thursday evening greetings from beautiful Stow, OH! Actually, I don't know whether Stow is beautiful or not, because I'm out in the boonies on my way to Cleveland for a meeting tomorrow at the Foundation Center. Brought my mom along for the ride and we just had a little dinner at TGI Friday's and are about to crash.
I'm using the computer in the hotel lobby and someone else is waiting to use it.
Vibes to all and goodnight!

I'm guessing that this is the point---why she needs redemption so badly....you have to start there for her to make a change. But, I'm not that big on stories of moral redemption...it's not reward enough for me to stick with a character I don't like. I thought it was pretty edgy for TNT and nice, visually. I'll give it another few weeks and see where it goes. The first episode is always tough because there's so much character establishment that you can't get a whole lot of plot in. But I also remember that I didn't like The Closer pilot and they fixed a lot of things that were annoying in future episodes.
-
BK is in the house! Bruce, I told our producer that she really should interview you about Li'l Abner. I think your personality would really enhance the show.
And do you know Joe Harris?
-
Nice to hear. I listen to her almost every day on my car radio. :)
Wow---what radio station is that?
They play her a lot on my favorite Atlanta station, which you can listen to as a live stream:
http://www.1690wmlb.com/
They play opera, rock, folk, Broadway, country, comedy, world music----it's all intermingled but it all works!
-
We liked the Closer pilot & found Brenda flawed but endearing. The show has evolved nicely & Brenda, while still flawed-lol, has become even more endearing. Grace on the other hand may be saved, but sadly never enjoyable to watch.
-
I'm watching Tim Burton's SLEEPY HOLLOW and I swear they must have used Alexander Nevsky as their temp track!
-
I have satellite radio. Mostly I listen to the 40’s station, sometimes the 50’s or blues & jazz. I’m not keen on local radio here, all the good ones were converted to talk radio. When I first got the satellite programming I was looking forward to the classical stations, to my surprise I found I mostly stay with the 40’s. I skip around a lot though, listening to whatever catches my fancy. There is also a Broadway shows station.

I think I was probably over-critical because I had just signed on for the whole season, and was working on WANTED at the same time. I'm glad I ended up sticking with THE CLOSER. WANTED is gone, SAVED is gone, and I don't hold out too much hope for HEARTLAND.
GRACE's pilot did huge numbers, almost as big as THE CLOSER that night, so the true test is to see if they continue to retain that audience.
I've been hearing great things about their new miniseries, THE COMPANY. Ridley Scott directed it and it looks great---visually stunning for a TV series!
-
1690 AM was Air America....we were sad when it didn't stay on the air, but they still kept Al Franken's show.
-
I can't listen to radio stations on the internet, have no idea why.
-
The previews for THE COMPANY looked like something coming out in theaters. The cast might have helped promote the feeling.
-
MBarnum, I suggest Charlie, if he hasn't done so, contact the breeder for assistance finding a home for Coda.
The Golden Retriever rescue groups might also be of some assistance.

Animosity Abounds!
;D
Needless to say, I dont blame you for being irritated. You have done your best to be cordial and diplomatic but if the roomie is playing the part of a spoiled brat, you have every right to be ticked. There are rules for a reason and she is not excepted from them no matter how they view it.
-
Hi François. Did you do anything exciting during your time away from us?
Nope! I spent a lot of time with my (real) mother who lives away from me the rest of the time! I rested and rested and when I was through with resting I rested some more!
The only "thrilling" thing I did was going to a small town, Bassac (30 minutes away from my hometown) where they had some live jazz music, last saturday! They had a fine Jazz Quartet which played New Orleans music; they are from Bordeaux and the pianist is English!
Believe it or not but at 6:00 pm that day it was dreadfully windy and chilly!
It was in the courtyard of the City Hall (Mairie) a few steps from the "abbatiale" pictured here: http://home.scarlet.be/wimvanrompuy/images/bassac.jpg

Three little words: Conflict Of Interest.
;D
i have always felt that when friends sometimes live together it can hurt a freindship...
Perhaps I am a bit jaded after seeing high school friends among incoming college students who room together only to move to different rooms at the end of the semester for different roommates.
Just my 2 cents...
-
Well, my sister just called me and told me that she just bought a big flat-screen HD TV!! I'm going over now to help set it up...meaning, I'm going to set it up. They don't have a HD or BlueRay DVD player yet, so we'll see how all the settings go. Matt H., I may need to ask some questions. ::)
:D

I have a funny feeling that this is a different INVASION USA than the one I worked on. (Which also features my DH's childhood home being blown to smithereens, before I'd even met him!)
welll at least the jeans look nice....

Have a good evening, all!

Ask her what % of the Rent the Boyfriend will be paying!
My friend Sandy's niece asked that of her roommate becuase of her roommates boyfriend alwasy sleeping over.
He shelled out money for awhile until it annoyed her even more and she then asked if he was going to contribute to the utilities, groceries and cable bill. He then cut back his visits after that.

As long as Carol Burnett is appearing in people's dreams, I'm wondering who, today, is like Carol Burnett, then? I'm talking very warm, very funny, powerhouse singers between 40-54, lovable and wacky, not a particularly contemporary feel...

Edisaurus, I'd be delighted to be interviewed about Li'l Abner! Who is this Harris fellow?

Who the heck is hiring him? And why?
He does the feature commentary on WORDS & MUSIC.
Really, he's written two outstanding books. A SONG IN THE DARK details in great and fascinating detail and first five years of talkie musicals. It's one of my favorite movie reference books.
SCREENED OUT is his examination of gay images on film in less detail but quite a bit more depth than either THE LAVENDER SCREEN or THE CELLULOID CLOSET.
So, he has credentials and knowledge. I find him a lot less objectionable than some other frequent commentators used on discs.
-
That made me laugh. A lot!
Well, I guess all the vibes worked! We move into the new office on Tuesday. Thank God this crisis is over.
And thank you, all, for the vibes and for putting up with me.
This is great, great news. I'm glad this kind of pressure and frustration should be over.

Here he is on the ibdb:
http://www.ibdb.com/person.asp?ID=22695
We may also be coming out to LA this year to do some interviews---perhaps including Jo Stafford. I asked Randy Newman last year and he said he would be game, too.
Whenever we go, I hope it will be at a time when you're there!
Supposedly, Johnny Mercer and Paul McCartney were once exploring the idea of collaborating (Paul is a huge fan) so he's also on our wish list. I say "our" but even though I've been editing this so far, it may eventually be taken over by KCET. Either way, I've enjoyed learning more about Mr. Mercer and his music!
-
Edi-I have a Closer question for you.
Possible spoiler:
At the end of the last episode she is curled up on the bed exhausted. Is that a lead into a future storyline or simply how the episode ended?
Keith thinks she might be pregnant. I said I hope not, between the fever, wine & cold meds, which would be scary. I don’t expect you to comment on this statement. ;D
SPOILER SPACE
I know nothing about pregnancy (obviously), but I actually thought this might be the beginning of menopause for her. Of course, I don't know anything about that either. ::)

That is certainly a possibility that is discussed. But, as S. Epatha Merkenson will tell us, there are also other possibilities. A major plot point occurs in S. Epatha's office, a week from this coming Monday.
-
Gee, I feel all cryptic and stuff.
-
Very strange thing about THE PIRATE DVD. When I turned the home theater back on, I put THE PIRATE back in to watch "Mack the Black" one more time, and there was NO popping or cracking. Now I'm wondering if there wasn't static electricity that was causing that sound when I watched it the first time. True, I only watched that one number so I could get to other things, but I will put the disc back on and watch the entire thing again when I've finished all the other discs in the set to see if I hear that popping again.
-

Thanks for this inside information. Just makes me anticipate the episodes all the more.
I saw the wonderful ratings for THE CLOSER and SAVING GRACE this afternoon, and even if GRACE doesn't quite hold up next week to its premiere numbers, it's already started off FAR stronger than HEARTLAND did. I'm sure TNT is ecstatic about that.
-
I watched the entire first disc of THE MUPPET SHOW (there are four discs in the set). I think it was 7 episodes. I was not looking forward to the Milton Berle episode, and it ended up being the best on the first disc. Statler and Waldorf heckle his standup routine, and he sets up about five minutes of Don Rickles-like putdowns from them that had me howling.

I have bookmarked it for future listening. Reminds me of Renradio and HIghlander radio.
-
I had totally forgotten the Judy Collins episode, and she sings four songs (including her famous "Send in the Clowns") that made for a very different MUPPET SHOW experience.
Don Knotts and Nancy Walker didn't work out too well. Zero Mostel was better than I expected with them. Rich Little's impressions ranged from great to awful, but he didn't blend in that well with the Muppets either.
-
Page Fourteen Hermione and Harry Dance!!!
-
I put in the WORDS & MUSIC DVD and watched the featurette on the making of the picture before actually beginning the movie. Nice to see Fred Chapin participating in the discussion along with Mary Rodgers, Miles Kreuger, Mickey Rooney, Gene Kelly's widow, and Richard Barrios.
-
I ended the evening with the second episode of MAD MEN on AMC.
(BTW, they are showing the series letterboxed; ironic for a channel which shows all their movies in full screen).
I didn't find the second episode quite as startling or mesmerizing as the first, but I'm hooked on the characters now and will continue watching through the summer.

Yay!
An actor friend of ours hosts from 7-11AM est Mon-Friday and that's always a nice way to start the morning. Plus, there are very few commercials.

Since I"ve been up since 4:30, I'm going to crash!

I'm heading down to bed, too.
Good night!

DR MusicGuy - Congrats on the move and the moving! Did you get the e-mail I sent you with the color and fabric requirements choices for my spare room out there? ;)
That parcel must be meandering around the Midwest somewhere....but let me guess: hmmmmm.... deep jewel tones as far as the color, and fabrics to include khaki, leather, and spandex, and something about eye-hooks and a pulley...... :o

And thank you, all, for the vibes and for putting up with me.
Congratulations, Larry! That's great.
And I'm so sorry that our plans got postponed and I won't have the pleasure of your dinner company tomorrow night. We must reschedule soon.
-
And yes, dear DR Jo jojo, there is a guest room and a welcome mat! :D
-
A very busy day doing lots and lots of stuff for The Last Starfighter. I will say goodnight to everyone and hope you all have very pleasant dreams tonight.
-
We must plan some get-togethers when I'm in for casting - I arrive at three-thirty on the 5th, am available that night, then we cast on Monday and Wednesday, and those evenings are probably free, and Tuesday I have all day production meetings, but the evening should be free.
-
Will we never get to page fifteen?
-
I'm restless - watched all of That's Dancing, and then began Isadora, which I'm enjoying, but which I fear is the shortest of its three versions. But, I can't sit and watch - it's hot, and then I turn on the air and it's too cold and it's very annoying. Maybe I'll proof for awhile, or maybe I'll take a spin in the motor car.
-
But first let me make 100 postings.
-
I will single-handedly take us to page fifteen.

bk - Should someone from Michael's office contacted me by now about accompanying the auditions? Or is he and/or Larry using someone else?
-
I still need a sublet for the big trip. Please keep your ears open - I'm getting very nervous about it.
-
It's hot, it's cold, it's hot, it's cold.

And, Goodnight.

Did Jose pass 21000 quietly or did I miss the hoopla?

Hot, cold, let's get cracking (almost a West Side Story reference)
-
Maybe West Coast Story
-
Just got back from the advance screening of The Simpsons Movie. My DVDTalk review should be live by tomorrow morning. Pretty much an unqualified rave--can't wait for the DVD, because people were laughing so hard I missed half of the jokes. A wonderful film with a surprising amount of heart.
-
Congrats on your new plateau Jose!!
I think he sneaked by quietly...
-
I just hate it when I can't sleep. It's too hot here. Everywhere around us got rain tonight, but not Sioux City. It's supposed to get down into the upper 80s tomorrow, that's the cold front, lol
-
Is there a plan to coordinate going to any of the NYMF shows? I was thinking at one time we decided the 30th was Brain night, but is that still the plan? It doesn't matter to me, but I'm planning to get my tickets as soon as they go on sale Aug 1, so it would be nice to know if there are performances when other Hainsies and Kimlets will be there
-
Proofed sixty pages - making it right justified introduced certain weirdnesses, all of which I'm hopefully catching.
-
Did Jose pass 21000 quietly or did I miss the hoopla?
There was no hoopla.
Congrats, Jose!! ;D
-
Are we still on page fourteen?
-
So it is written, so it shall be done - page fifteen.
-
Will we never get to page sixteen?
-
I'm eating some cheddar Chex mix.
-
My sister bought a 46-inch HD flat, widescreen TV! We got it all set up pretty easily and it works! Here's a dark picture of my niece in front of it:

Well, I guess I'll start writing some notes now.
