DR MBARNUM has some interesting items up for sale on E-BAY.

Another desperate bid for funds to get him to New York?

TOD

How about POSEIDON, but instead of Kurt Russell, Josh Lucas, Richard Dreyfuss, and Emmy Rossum; why not use some great B actors like Gene Hackman, Stella Stevens, Roddy McDowell, and Shelley Winters?

You know...I think you've got something there!

Oh no, dear RP, not a forum monitor at all.  Just a small "style" element that I thought Naomi would want to know.  If we were to have an official monitor, it would probably be someone who could bark orders in a rather "naval-military" manner.   :o  ;D

YOU RANG?

I have NO BK signature on my CD - which must be why they didn't dun me for the extra buck some people were paying. :(

What happened to the lesbian with the tool  belt?

The lesbian with the toolbelt was for moving the electrical outlet up a few inches, since the wall is open and the outlet is exposed from the back.

However, I did a special favor for DH, so he is supposed to do it, as per our agreement.

she's really getting the subtleties down

I read that as subtitles!

Perhaps that's because we now have a version of Sacco and Vanzetti fully subtitled in Italian. (Except the stuff that already IS in Italian.)

I'm too tired to do the scrolling thing. We got in from LA at 1:30. Poor DH had a 7:45 call so he had to get back up at 5:30 to pack up geat and drive across town.

I'm going to sleep well tonight!

Appropro the Joshua Bell incident...

A good friend of mine is a painter and sculptor of some renown--many of his paintings are in museums. We sometimes get together in NY and visit the museums. One day we were at the Guggenheim and there was a group of art students doing sketches from the paintings. It occurred to me: Do they know who he is? No, of course not. They'll assume he's just another tourist. I turned to him and asked, "Are any of your works here at the Guggenheim?" His reply: "Not that I know of," which surprised me as I had assumed that you'd KNOW if your work was there, but of course that isn't true. If one of his works WAS there, well, I'd have to really restrain myself from telling all and sundry.

And my friend looks like a street person, but that's another story!

And missing one ear probably didn't help.

We had a great Easter: brunch with my former editing assistant, her DH and mother-in-law who was visiting from England.

Her DH is a writer (HELLRAISER series, among other things) so he keeps up on the entertainment mags. He told us that he'd seen our film in Entertainment Weekly.

Whaaaaa??? First we'd heard about it. So after brunch we all wandered over to one of those amazing newsstands you can find in LA (this one on Larchmont) and bought a copy.

Now only was S&V the "EW Pick" but the head reviewer, Owen Glieberman, gave us an "A"... the only solid A review apart from GRINDHOUSE, so we were quite excited. I called Peter immediately and he was jumping for joy.

After reading Rodzinski's GRINDHOUSE impressions, I can at least say that our film isn't butt-numbing, as it's only 81 minutes.

This is great news for us. I hope it will help us pick up some more theatres!

Someone (Jrand...singdaw?) mentioned here on Saturday that EW had given you an "A".  My copy arrived today, and I am trying to resist the urge to go straight to the movie reviews.

All packages have been shipped - actually only awaiting payment on one, and that will go out as soon as payment arrives.  There's a big French film festival starting next week at the DGA and I've booked about six films - love French cinema so am looking forward to seeing this stuff.

Oh! How did I miss that? Well...I know how I missed that. I was having too much fun in LA!

It was easy to feel celebratory with all that was going on, plus I don't think I mentioned that my Dad went home from the hospital the day we left.

Ahem...page 55...
