DR JEANNE -

Yes we are in a Mercury retrograde until July 9.

Those previous problems you mentioned were because of a Jupiter retrograde, which we are also experiencing until July 31.

While people speak of  Mercury Retrograde periods that screw up computers and television sets, today's astrologers believe the mishaps happen in more personal realms (Uranus is the planet that rules television and computers).  Mercury rules communication, but more  informal communications, like writing, speaking, short shopping sprees and other erranding endeavors.  So, while Mercury is Retrograde, don't give that party,  be extra aware of what you say and what you interpret when chatting with or writing to friends, cut back on errands, expect that the check will be in the mail longer than usual.   Since the car is usually used for shopping and errands,  don't be surprised if the battery wire loosens or the fan belt snaps just when you have rush out for that one ingredient you forgot to buy.

The good things to do when Mercury is Retrograde: meditate, contemplate, edit the book/poem/song/essay you've been writing, clean house, talk to your pet, listen to music, paint, catch up on sleep!

Did you know they charge you $50 if your suitcase is overweight?  I had stuffed all my conference books into my bag, so it was over, but not by much. I took a couple of the books out.  I swear they charge you for absolutely everything now days.  I'm beginning to hate traveling

The hotel was worse. I actually paid $4 for 12 oz of diet coke. Highway robbery!

It will be over soon.  Make it work for you, as it sounds like MR BK is doing.

I didn't take the "taxi" until today (I had a real taxi in from the airport - it was much cheaper) but I talked to a guy last night who took it to the other hotel...about 1/2 mile to a mile away at most. They charged him $12.75! It was just craziness.

Sometimes it seems as though service workers should be wearing masks on their faces and holding guns on us.  8)

Loved hearing about A CHORUS LINE....high school version, and sad to hear about Mr Walsh.

JRand, I'm going to be setting up my office during the retrograde.  I'm not opening yet, just moving in, should I expect delays?

You will be pleased to hear that even AFTER seeing our production of CINDERELLA audience members gave us surveys requesting to see our productions of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, WICKED, and that ever popular musical LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE.

Mostly in communications and expect to wait a bit longer than planned for deliveries and messages.  ;D

Good morning, all!  I have to run down to Toyland this morning for a brief sojourn, after which I shall return and watch Season 1 of THE CLOSER.  I have no plans beyond that.

I miss my dad.

DR ELMORE the Hal Dream0-O-Matic 6000 tells us that little Taylor Kincaid is the person you are writing your BABES IN TOYLAND book for, even if you don't know it.

You have been "in the audience" with him since you started.

Happy Father's Day!  ;)

Father's Day greetings!  I was out at my mom's yesterday afternoon and evening, enjoying my relatives who are visiting from 3 different states.  This morning, I'm going to do some prep for a Father's Day dinner for DH Richard and then go out to Mom's until my sister and her husband leave for Michigan.  My niece, who's stayed at our house the past 2 nights, isn't going back to Illinois until tomorrow, so she'll stay with Gram tonight.

The people are starting to invade my little haven here in the food court......think I'll mosey down to the gate.  If I can still get the free wifi there I'll check back in.

I was curious if you've had the chance to read Erik Larson's book, THUNDERSTRUCK, which tells the tale of Dr. Crippen as well as the tale of Marconi's Telegraph.

I read it not long ago. I enjoyed it, although there was a bit more detail about the telegraph than I needed.
