Something enchanted to look forward to.

That does make for a different version of the show.

"and Teddy Tahu Rhodes as Emily de Becque."

I am sort of shocked that nobody around here had this game:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHsQpTbQ9Uo

I'll just sit quietly here and wait for a certain orchestrators response to this.....

There is no need to wait for an autopsy: all tests have successfully proven that Michael Barnum is indeed a 12 year-old girl.

Back from the Costco run and some lunch at the Daily Grill.  I had their under 600 calorie turkey club with avocado sandwich, which was incredibly great - how it can be under 600 calories and have avocado is anyone's guess, but it was filling and really tasty.

bk - Avocados aren't that caloric. They have a reputation for being "fatty", however, it's a good fat. -And a little avocado - about a 1/4 of one - is all one needs on a sandwich.
Like olive oil, avocados have a fat in them that actually causes one to lose weight. That's why Weight Watchers has added a daily dose of olive oil and a recommended amount of avocados to their plan.

Topic of the Day:

Board games:
Aggravation!
Checkers
Chinese Checkers
Monopoly
Scrabble
Sorry
Trivial Pursuit
Trouble

My dad taught me a little bit of chess, but I didn't care for it.  We also had Battleship at one point, but we didn't have it for very long. ::)

Card games:
Gin Rummy
Go Fish
Phase 10
Poker
Rummy
Solitaire (several versions)
Uno

And a German card game that my mom taught us (although, we haven't played it in YEARS) called Watten.

I love the Watten playing cards. My Russian grandfather taught me a game with those when I was a kid. I don't remember exactly what it was. Maybe my mom does.

And thank you all for the vibes. Nothing is settled yet and I'm borderline apoplectic. Just trying to stay calm and say prayers.

I couldn't get tickets for the Olympics but I was able to get to the Olympic Stadium today to see the Paralympics. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a wonderful experience to be there.....and I'm not even interested in sport!
I think it is cool that you were able to go. It is an interesting stadium. I have seen a little of the paralympics on the Canadian and BBC feeds. Nearly nothing about them in the games in the
US media.

There's been a lot of criticism here about how the US media is largely ignoring the Paralympics.

My sisters played that. The dream was the dud, though, in their opinion.

Oh!

My brother, Michael, just found out that he has been promoted to the rank of Commander (CDR) in the United States Coast Guard! And along with his promotion, he will now be stationed back at USCG HQ in DC on a more permanent basis. No more extended weekends away from his family. :)

Wonderful news!!!

Teddy isn't only a good singer but a very good actor. He spends a lot of time onstage dressed in very little.

He's one of the leading subjects on the Barihunks site.

I held a hope at one point that our Mikey would develop an interest in classical music from the Barihunks site but i think he'd rather play Mystery Date and giggle over potential byfriends.

And...

I'm back from having some Happy Hour food with some of THE KING & I cast! I texted one of them earlier, and it turned out they were in the restaurant downstairs!

And, hopefully, I'll be able to see the show tomorrow night.

I think that would be spelled bi-friends.

I wish that the clip from SOUTH PACIFIC that is at Barihunks would have allowed us to watch Teddy sing "Some Enchanted Evening" instead of  jumping back and forth between Emily and Cable.

It seems like a game called "Go Fish" would be especially appropriate in these parts.
