TOD - Several years ago I took my mother, well into her 80's, to Kettering, Ohio's
Fraze Pavillion to see Keith Lockhart conduct the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. You see, Mother has a huge crush on KL, so we splurged on seats right up front. When he came onstage, she said to me, "He has the bluest eyes!" Fraze Pavillion is named for Ernie Fraze, the inventor of the pull-tab (like on a soft drink or beer can).
Also, for the past several summers the Ohio Humanities Council has put on a series of
Chautauqua programs. We weren't able to get to any of them this summer, but in other years we've enjoyed Johnny Appleseed, General Sherman, Zelda Fitzgerald, etc.
