Druxy, it would be helpful to know which disc you watched.  All Blu-Ray discs are not made equal.

It would also help to know if he has his BD player connected with HDMI cables.  In my experience, movie lovers who make statements about the Blu-ray format in this manner don't have the player properly connected.

Of course, the movie matters, too.

I guarantee you would never make such a statement after seeing "Lost" in the BD format.  Or "The Robe".  Or "How the West Was Won."

I have a dinner date with our DR Jose. I am very excited to be stepping out to 85th Street!

Yes, but how does 85th Street feel about it?

I am welcome any time there as long as DR Barnum is not in my company.

For anyone who may be interested, Warner's Archive has 22 new releases this week....including the 1973 TV movie DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK (possibly mentioned in some of our past TV movie discussions,

plus the classic 1957 thriller which I know that all HHWers will want to own........

DR MattH hope you get your airconditioning woes fixed!

Btw, on FOX tonight is part 1 of the SEASON FINALE of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (which i believe is 2 hours).

Sounds like you should find a woman reviewer to do the shows you hate (like THE HILLS or the HANNAH MONTANA movie).  Heck, i'm even sort of curious about the latter.

There are no female reviewers on the staff at present. However, I never said I didn't like HANNAH MONTANA, and we've had this discussion MANY TIMES before about critics being able to evaluate the merits of a program whether they fit its predestined audience or not.

Absolutely true. Not all DVDs are of equal quality either.

Well, Mr. A/C Man has come and gone. I have a cooler house and my bank account is considerably less. Still, it had to be done.

I watched a MURDER SHE WROTE episode while I ate lunch. In this one Jessica is having computer problems and the owner of Cabot Cove's electronics store has some secrets from his past he wanted to stay buried. I did not guess the correct murderer, but the clues offered were really flimsy.

Next I watched BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA. This is not one of the best of the John Carpenter-Kurt Russell pairings. Very tongue-in-cheek and silly, and Rusell, though he looks gorgeous, is too aware of the joke he and the director are trying to pull off.

This was pre-computer generated CGI monsters, and the monsters in this are ridiculously lame.

I watched all of the bonus features but one (I was desperately trying to finish everything before the A/C man arrived). I'll have to finish it tonight and post the review later.

I know tonight I want to watch last night's RESCUE ME and I have today's soaps to skim through. I had wanted to rewatch THE DIVINCI CODE tonight, but I may not get to it since it's so long.

Well, it's official!  I'm going to the call-backs for the Theater Artists Olympia's production of The Brain From Planet X!! ;D

Call-backs are next Monday, but the show itself doesn't go up until next spring. :-\

Repaired. The unit is only 6 years old. It had a five year warranty, of course.

I have a question for the DRs:

How long will you wait at a doctor or dental office before you walk out? I had an appointment today for a dental cleaning. It's a brand new office and some disorder is to be expected. I arrived right on time. They were running VERY late, but the worst part was the attitude of the staff--completely blase. Do I want these people cleaning my teeth? No! I waited what I felt was a reasonable time, then reminded them what time my appointment was for and walked. They offered no apology whatsoever. I'm usually quite patient, but there is a limit. How long will YOU wait?

ASK BK -

Last night I watched the latest dvd transfer of TO CATCH A THIEF, so my first ASK BK question is:

Which of these romantic pairings with Cary Grant do you like the most?
Grace Kelly (TO CATCH A THIEF)
Audrey Hepburn (CHARADE)
Ingrid Bergman (NOTORIOUS)

Cary Grant and Randolph Scott (ROOMMATES)

ASK BK -

What Hitchcock film's screenplay do you think would make an interesting piece of musical theater?
What Hitchcock film would you personally want to write as a musical?

PSYCHO - with Patti LuPone in the Janet Leigh role, and with me playing Norman!
