LE MIZ was enjoyable. I’ll be damned if I could figure what might have been cut or edited from the regular show. It all seemed to be present and accounted for.
Most amazing was this show was put together in 15 days!
Some of the casting choices seemed a bit strange, but most of these kids have been involved with this theater training program, so perhaps they try to balance out who has leads vs. who plays ensemble.
I have some weekend work in the apartment. The building is a mess with no super, my neighbor Judy claims there are rats in the building, and I've got a roach problem that's getting worse; I can only blame it on the lack of a building exterminator at the present time and the fact that the pet-safe pesticide I'm using is doing nothing.
To answer George’s question from last night:
Yes, I am feeling fine, thank you.
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
As to the rats, I believe it's because the "temporary super" who's never here and who sends young immigrants to the building to clean up things on what appears to be his whim, is leaving the outside basement door unlocked and open at all hours of the day. The landlord is letting this building go to hell.
Our last really good super was Val, and he left because the cheap shits wouldn't even pay him vacation pay.
About "Moron Day" - there's a TV show on New York One, which is called "Onstage." And the announcer would saying "We'll be back with more Onstage after this message" But the announcement was somehow recorded sounding like "We'll be back with Moron Stage after this message."
DR George, as a former Taco Bell fan, I submit this for your consideration:

KISMET.....I like how all the men have to duck to get through the doors because they have these little towers on the top of their hats....I finally started to watch for it - that amused me for a lot of the running time.
I like Night of My Nights.....but not much else.
GETTING THE PART YOU WANT VIBES FOR DR GEORGE!
I wrote up a li'l review of the Audible version of GEE and sent it through about half an hour ago.
And guess what? It went through and was published on the page in about one minute.
So, WTF? Go figure. Trying to predict how these submissions are going to go is like trying to pin down when the next Moron Day is being held. Anyway, let's see if this link works:

Well, I got the call. I've been cast in [redacted]! They don't want any announcements on social media until their official announcement, but since we're an onclave and oasis on the Interwebs, I figured that I could at least say that much.
;)
And I was not cast in the play that my friend is directing. Oh, well. I'll definitely have fun with the show that I was cast in!

Thanks, Jane! I'm at least in the show that I wanted. :)
Stella tried to help me make tuna salad. It was a disaster. She and Thatch are now galloping all over the apartment and thankfully out of my hair while I have a tuna sandwich.

Not one whole hour ago I was directed to this report of a real life ducking situation in NYC:

Sorry for the first part, pleased with the second. Fun is important.

F*ck.
Costco is great for macadamia nuts. Healthy fat.
Starting to watch Marathon Man. Haven't watched this in ages, but I loved it back in high school. I'm finding it to be an exceptionally well-made thriller.
I may be wrong, but I have some memory of Marathon Man at the Chinese, or some place like that.
Congratulations, George, on getting the part.
Congrats to DR George on his new role in [redacted]!
Vibes you have a good time in it.
I once had a bug problem. I put down boric acid powder and it solved the problem quickly. I was told it was pet-safe and there was no problem with the cats.
I may be wrong, but I have some memory of Marathon Man at the Chinese, or some place like that.
That’s what I’m thinking. That or the Village.
There were about eight people in the theater. Film was fine for those who enjoyed Bend It Like Beckham, which I did.
ChasSmith - indeed Marathon Man played the Chinese AND the Village. I tell you, the old memory still works pretty good, yes?

And I am hereby declaring I saw it at the Village.
The memory really evoked the “feel” of it having been one of those.
Howard Goodall wrote the score to the BILB musical. Two other shows of his that I love are The Hired Man (http://castalbums.org/recordings/The-Hired-Man-1984-Original-London-Cast/1200), and Days of Hope (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Days-of-Hope-1991-Original-London-Cast/2570).
Just had to share. :)

Got Beckham and Hired Man.
Howard was inspired to write Days of Hope by the political events occurring in Eastern Europe in the late 1980s, and was interested that the ideas of freedom and democracy would be seen differently through the eyes of a country which was just discovering their meaning. Relating this to his choice of the Spanish Civil War as a setting for his musical, he said, “I felt that that the best way to look at freedom and democracy was to look at it when it was collapsing and failing. A year ago [in 1990] everybody was writing plays about the eruption of freedom and I wanted to go back and ask questions. Why did democracy fail in Spain in 1939? What did we do to invite fascism on ourselves all over Europe?”

Nice. "Days of Hope (http://www.howardgoodall.co.uk/works/musicals/days-of-hope) is set in Spain in 1939, in the dying moments of the Spanish Civil War." It's not your traditional musical, but I really love the score.

F*ck.
No, sorry - most of the places on this stupid meme list that's circulating, and which was written by a COLLEGE STUDENT, and not a very bright one, have in fact donated to BOTH parties, not one. Eat where you like. If we boycott every place that suddenly shows up without the least bit of actual research, we may as well never go anywhere.

I have his Two Cities, too. Not a good one.

Thanks. I have never purchased the large container there. I will see if they have something smaller.
Listening to another score from our big box set - this is the one people will go nuts for - twenty minutes of never before released music (the previous CD didn't have those twenty minutes and sounded like crap - this is amazing) plus this CD has a companion score - short but one everyone has been screaming for for years.
I've got a terrible headache. I'm off to bed.
I woke up this morning with a sore throat and throbbing head and decided against church
Ended up sleeping most of the day

It was pizza and movie day after church today. I stayed for the pizza and didn't get out fast enough before they started the movie.
Where in tarnation IS everyone? I think I forgot to take a walk, but I didn't forget to get several different kinds of ice cream at Ralph's. :)
So, it doesn’t really count.

At least that is what we used to tell ourselves back in those lean years when we seldom had a winning season.
Congratulations, George, for being cast in the one show, but I am surprised about the other show.
