I am not used to the time change and how dark it is by 5pm! It's freaking me out.

The post finally arrive with lots of packages but not the check I'm waiting on. I want to deposit it before I leave for Ohio next week and I hoped it might arrive today.

So, tonight I have to read up on Appalachian Christmases in the Ritchie Family. I got my copy of Jean Ritchie's biography, SINGING FAMILY OF THE CUMBERLANDS, and I want to see how that stirs my imagination for my meeting tomorrow,

And now it's time for me to leave work and head to Portland!  Unless there's horrendous traffic, I should be there in a couple of hours or so.

I'm bringing my camera! :D

I have to decide whether to give Ricky one more treatment or not. The vet said his culture from 2 weeks ago isstill  negative.  So i'm guessing the one from last Monday will be negative as well.  That's two negatives.  Since she didn't do one the week before that, I don't know how long he's been negative.

She said you're supposed to do another treatment after it's negative, well we did do another after it was negative.   The spot looks good, his hair has started growing back.  He has no new signs of it and no one else has gotten it.   I'm really thinking that I don't want to do it again.  This has been expensive and he hasn't even been neutered yet.  I'll call her tomorrow and discuss it, but my gut says it isn't necessary and I'm not sure I can stand smelling it for another week

DR MBarnum, Endtimes Productions is promising in this year's edition of NAKED HOLIDAYS  a Bollywood production number (I think that's what the ad said) or was that in their Halloween production?

I woke up this morning to find that my ear was draining.  I finally managed to clean out my ear, but now I can't hear a damn thing out of that side of my head.  My entire ear is very warm to the touch, and bright red, so I can assume that I have developed a cold in my ear.  Naturally this happened on a Friday, because my doctor doesn't work on Friday.

Hopefully my ear will not start sneezing.

Got very moved by the stories of  Arena Stage's "Oklahoma!" and its contemporary take, so even though the parody-tribute will probably reach relatively few folk:

We're fans here of what the Arena Stage accomplishes, so here's a Regional Parody-Tribute
Parody-tribute of "Kansas City" from OKLAHOMA

EVERYTHING'S UP TO DATE AT THE ARENA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kIMKGkAaRM

It's only about 2 minutes long.  The folks at the Arena even gave me an OK to put some of their photos in.

Very clever, FJL!  And that Curly is certainly a hottie!

Well, we were going too well and we were heading for a fall. First we had a sick alto, but the four ladies who showed up were mighty and we got Zak and the ladies' ensemble in the can; our tenor who has wonderful pitch, diction, and a way around the lyrics showed up and announced he was ready to sing but there might be problems since he was up most of the night being violently ill wth what sounds like food poisoning. At that point our pianist announced his inner ear infection was giving him vertigo and that, after we recorded the tenor, he had to go home. I had to call our soprano and tell her her session was cancelled and we'd see her on January 7.

The tenor was wonderful and we recorded him in three takes and two small fixes.

So, I'm hone and I have other work on the recording I can do here, like continue to type up the lyrics.

I have to say that we've been quite fortunate so far, but I can use all the vibes you can send for a successful three action-packed days to finish this turkey from Jan 5-7!

I've got the recording schedule packed for Jan 5-7, and I think it will be an exhausting three days, but everything should get recorded.

On other news, I just saw my 5th floor neighbor Mary Ann, who tells me the Oaf has told her he's moving back to Canada by the end of the year!

Best news I have heard this week!
