This afternoon, I rewatched last week's episode of THE CLOSER in anticipation of its conclusion tomorrow night. Of course, TNT is repeating it tomorrow at 8 leading into the final part, but I didn't know what I might be watching tomorrow at 8.

I next put in ANNIE (the Kathy Bates/Rob Marshall-directed version). Hadn't seen it in a long time, and it still holds up beautifully. Certainly I miss the numbers which have been omitted, but what's here is nicely performed.

Even though it was shot in 1.33:1 for 4:3 televisions, my upconversion DVD player certainly makes it look very, very good. The color is really vibrant and rich, and it's sharp enough that you can see weave in the fabrics on coats and other clothes.

I didn't see it when it first came out. But I had friends who enjoyed it so much and talked it up so much that I bought a used DVD sight unseen, and I was not disappointed. Very entertaining ltitle comedy.

Back from lunch with DH Richard.  I'm continuing a bookshelf rearrranging project and am about to take a break to watch:

Bruce Watson on BookTV talking about Sacco and Vanzetti:  The Men, the Murders, and the Judgment of Mankind

Only 106 posts?

BK and I came all the way to the Apple Store here on 5th Avenue to post.  Why can't all of you find more time in the day to post?

The street fair performance went well - after which we dined at the "Eat Here Now" diner and now we're over here at the Disneyland for adults - the Apple Store.

there was no evidence of seat belt use found.

What an odd way of phrasing it. Either they were wearing their seatbelts or they weren't!

I wonder what happened to the airbags, but perhaps it was an old car.

I saw a guy in the grocery store this morning who I dated about 6 years ago.  He had moved to Texas and said he's now back here to stay.  He asked for my number so I gave it to him...hmmmm

All I can say is, "YOU GO, GIRL!"

~~~Ring-a-ding-ding vibes for DR Cillaliz~~~
My life, which is a bit crazed at the moment with a PHI deadline (it's going slow, folks!), will be complicated further tomorrow since I pick up the old band parts for "The Brain" to begin all the adjustments and fixes for next Monday's band rehearsal.  It's not a heavy load of changes but I've got a whirlwind week facing me.
All this is essentially an intro to this: come hell or high water, I'm not missing THE CLOSER tomorrow night.
DR MattH, have fun with Jose. I'll bet he knows sleazy spots in Charlotte you never knew existed.  Is there a waterfront?
It was a passenger side impact into a tree. So, if it was only front airbags it may not have made much of a difference
Seat belts probably wouldn't have mattered in a passenger side impact.
I am sorry to hear about your colleague, Cillaliz.
