I've scheduled a shuttle pickup for this evening.  It was kind of scary.  Never gave 'em my name.  I said I'd like a seat on any shuttle they have going out this evening, just as along as I didn't leave any later than 8:30 p.m.

I was asked for my address, after which I was asked if I was "me", and my phone number was "what it is" and my cell phone number was "what it is".  And it all "was".

Shudder.

I asked the lady how she was able to draw all that info just from a street address...and she said I was in their system as a repeat customer...for this time every year!~  :)

Now comes the waiting...and futzing with what I've already packed...and probably some last-minute adjustments...and some unpacking/repacking.  And beating myself senseless over what I might have forgotten (or forgotten to do...stopped the paper, stopped the mail, cleaned out the refrigerator for spoilables, etc.).

Obsessive-compulsive much?  I think maybe...at least when I'm travelling.

Am going to have a nice bowl of white bean Tuscan soup for lunch.  No idea about din-din.  Perhaps I'll wait until I get through security at the airport.  Or maybe I'll get an early dinner...some KFC or something.

Now that I've just about go this covered, I suppose I'll start eyeing the condo to see what I can do to make it more tidy for my return.

Last year, under these circumstances, I completely cleaned my refrigerator.

Hmmm.....I could certainly appreciate shampooing this carpet.

AND...it sure would have time to dry if I finished just before my shuttle arrives.

Back from a midday meeting, which included lunch at Mr. Lee's Fine Asian Dining.  Mr. Lee and his wait-staff were definitely not on the same page as to how this luncheon would be carried out, but it turned out OK.  The food was nothing out of the ordinary, but the company was good.

Thanks to DR JMK for a birthday wish from the city of my birth!

I've got to start thinking about my New Year's Resolutions.

I resolve, right now, to attend SOME Hainsie/Kimlet gathering in the next year.

I don't know when or where...but there's just got to be SOMEthing.

I resolve to be a kinder, gentler person in the new year.  To be more even-tempered and patient.

(Yes, I can work on that!)

And....I resolve to be less snarky, even when Miss Karen is baiting me!

(Not!)

I'm back.  I forgot, Ron will you be posting while you are away?  I seem to recall you don't.

If not, have a great trip and a very merry Christmas!  Even if you do, have a great trip and a very merry Christmas!

Actually, last year I did, and it was fun.  I'll continue to post, at least once, possibly a few times each day.

Now that I've gotten through my root canal, pre-travel preparations, lots of shipping and now the packing, I can sit back ans start worrying whether or not all the boxes I shipped will actually arrive intact.

Sigh.

Have I got stress?  Well, yes, I guess.

Good Afternoon!

We just had our post-lunch rush of auditions.  All eight of them. :-\

However... I have to say, when someone brings in Stevie Wonder's "Ribbon In the Sky" or "Lately", and they can really sing(!) it...  HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY!

And for lunch, I did indeed enjoy some Balkan food at Djerdan.  *Their website right now is basically a homepage.  In any case...

To start, I had a slice of their amazing Spinach Burek - spinach and cheese wrapped in homemade fillo dough.  Really quite good - and it was a BIG slice too.  -They also come in Cheese, Beef or Potato.  -And if you want to order some for yourself, you can call 1-888-GO-BUREK.  ;)

Of course, I was already quite sated and satiated after the burek, but since I had already ordered the entree, well...  Cevapi - Traditional Balkan veal kebabs, grilled, and served on pita with some chopped onion and roasted red pepper sauce.  Soooooo good.  And, again, another very generous portion.

And since I still had a good chunk of time left in my leisurely lunch hour, I went ahead and ordered a small pastry, hurmašica, and some Turkish coffee for dessert.

YUM!  -Or however you say that in Balkan Roumanian.  ;)

Oh... And I haven't had Indian food in a while...  And there's also Djerdan for Balkan food - amazing bureks!... I'm also not that far from 'wichcraft in Bryant Park...  Restaurant Forte Baden Baden for Korean style fried chicken - and the deep-fry the garlic cloves too!... The Korean kimbab (sushi rolls) place...  Etc., etc., etc.

grumble, grumble, grumble

Wow, you never showed me any of these places! Djerdan, next time I am in NY...OK!

As for packing... I've gotten better over the years.  I still remember when I had to pack basically three weeks of clothes for two different seasons when I went to Australia.  And even then, there were actually some clothes that never made it out of the suitcase!

One of my colleagues at Disney is like DR Jane's Keith.  He almost always travels with one carry-on bag and his laptop/briefcase.  He even travelled that light when he went to Australia for those three weeks.  Yes, his clothing rotation is a bit "fast", but he also doesn't mind doing his laundry when he's on the road.  And if it ever turns out that he does need something new to wear, he doesn't mind buying a new shirt here and there.  Those end up being his "souvenirs".

Actually, most of those places are right by that photo and autograph place you like.  I think we may have even walked by a few of them too when you met me at the rehearsal studio.  ...But next time fer sure!  ;)

Although, I have to say, that even though the day could be categorized as "painfully slow", it has been far from painful.  -Although, I think the Turkish coffee may have something to with that. ;)
