Hmm... I wonder if we could have some sort of Virtual Lunch or maybe even just a Virtual Snack.   A couple of us DRs could send out a particular treat to the other DRs.  And then at a certain time on a certain day, we could all bite into said treat at the same moment.  -And, then, of course, post our reactions.  And since I don't think everyone has sampled my Chocolate-Chip-Oatmeal-Pecan-Toffee Cookies... Hmm...  -I believe DR Jane liked them.  :)

The idea of seeing folks walking around in t-shirts and shorts in December is so bizarre! And it's not just one person. My entire neighborhood seems to be wearing shorts today.

I began my afternoon viewing by finishing up the PBS AMERICAN MASTERS program on Rudolph Nureyev that I had begun last night. I saw about 25 minutes of it last night, and I saw the other 65 today. Basically it took him from his youth to his defection, and only mentioned his life after leaving Russia briefly. Very beautiful series of movies of his early dance performances. He was very flamboyant in his moves and, of course, thrilling to watch as a young talent.

Next, I watched CSI: MIAMI. Good murder mystery this week with the team operating well as a unit for a change. A final showdown, however, didn't seem quite in keeping with CSI: MIAMI as usual, so I wonder if this wasn't the first of some kind of story arc.

Next came HOT ROD. It's the kind of brain-dead, moronic comedy that's SO silly you have to be in the mood for it. Thankfully, it only ran 83 minutes. I'll admit a couple of scenes did make me laugh out loud, and there was one spectacular sight gag that came at the end of an homage to Kevin Bacon in FOOTLOOSE.

There were a couple of extraordinary crashes, too. The stunt man on this movie for leading actor Andy Samberg deserved a BIG bonus check for his work in the film.

I also watched all of the special features on the disc. There were quite a few of them though none lasted for longer than 10-12 minutes.

I'll listen to more of the audio commentary when I go back down (listened to about 10 minutes of it earlier), but that's all that's left of this release.

I ended the afternoon skimming through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. The gay characters were on, so I enjoyed the scenes with them. They were not in the previews for tomorrow.

Well, I think I'm gonna go ahead and log off and shut down.  There's a rehearsal of Chicago going on across the hall, and some musical theatre class running upstairs (I can hear "Now You Know" right now... over and over..)... or I guess I could go and audition for Gypsy.  ;)

Yes, there they are. Luke is sporting now that same shaggy dog hair-style that Randy Harrison had for a few seasons on QUEER AS FOLK. At some point it begins to be TOO much.

I guess I'll do a little writing and then head down to watch something for fun. At this point, I don't know what that will be. I wish my HARRY POTTER films had come today, but I'm really expecting them until tomorrow or it could even be Friday.

Back from a very nice lunch with Hisaka, who gave me a huge Haiku book for my birthday.  I had the usual Dolores meal, as did she.  Kevin is on his way over, and I hope to keep this meeting short and sweet, and then I want to watch a DVD that just arrived (a screener that I promised I'd write about).

Those are delicious, and I'm not even a big fan of pecans.  It must be the combination of all the ingredients-YUMMY.

So what have I been doing to pass the time?  Well, apart from watching "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" in HD DVD, I remembered that I got an IPod Shuffle last year for Christmas.

I'd never even tried to make it work.  And despite reading everything that came with it, I have no idea how music gets recorded onto the shuffle.  I'm charging the unit now.  There is a mention of following "Set Up Assistant."

But I ain't go no set up assistant.  My system recognizes the input as an iPod.  And I'd sure love to record a few CDs onto it before leaving once the shuffle is "charged".  But how does it "record"?

I can understand why some of the younger, more naive people purchased dogs there & believed the BS given them, others I'm rather shocked at.  I guess when you fall in love with that dogie in the window & money is no option, the brain cells take a vacation.

Stevie & Sergio are good friends--Sergio translated "Bird of Beauty" into Portuguese for Stevie, and Stevie returned the favor by writing one of Sergio's few 70s hits (albeit minor), "The Real Thing."
