I had heard about it a couple of months ago, that Costcos in other regions had them, but the local Costco didn't start selling them until just a few days ago.

Did you complain, or at least mention it to the waitstaff?  My friend Margo has no problem saying if she was disappointed in something.  She's always polite about it, though.

 I mentioned it.  She offered to warm the chowder, but i didn’t really want nuked chowder.
