With just a little help from DH Richard, I fixed sweet & sour chicken for dinner tonight.  Low fat (the chicken isn't breaded) and we used reduced-sodium soy sauce.

I am very sleepy. Good dinner and good company. But I am very tired. I want to stay awake fro THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF DC, but I'm thinking it's time for bed.

George, have you marked your calendar for October 7?

That is the date of the Lynden Music Festival.  And on that night at:

North County Christ the King Church
1816 18th Street
Lynden, WA

The headliner will be the Manhattan Transfer!

My first crush, around age 5 or 6, was my cousin's cousin Butch.  He was an enlisted man, probably just into the air force.  Dark military-issue hair, deep, dark brown eyes.   Need I say more?  ;)

Yes!

Umm. . .not much more could be said. . .I WAS FIVE OR SIX! ! !

I stuffed zucchini for dinner.  That is not a euphemism.

Damn!

Anytime you want your zucchini stuffed DR TCB, I will happily stuff it for you.   ;)

Thanks George, but I am going to have to pass.  I think I have a headache that day.

I just whipped up a batch of Heloise's No-Salt Spice Substitute:

5 teaspoons onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds

Mix all ingredients and put in an airtight container, like an old spice jar.  Don't store this or any spice near the stove; the heat cancause the flavor to diminish.

This was in our local paper yesterday, quite timely for me.  It's worth a try.

Gee, that is one piece of mail that I wish I hadn't opened today.  I just opened the quarterly statement for my Part Three, Independent Retirement Plan.  I lost $7,000.00 in this last quarter.  I thought we were supposed to be on the rebound?

Yeah, DR TCB, my IRA had been gaining and, this last quarter, lost some.  What's up with that?

Nice Warner Archives sale--3 for $39, plus 25% off sets.  Clifford Odets' sole film as a director, NONE BUT THE LONELY HEART, just was announced and is included.

The only people on the rebound are CEOs and executives in the banking and stock market industries.

I'm off to my sister's.  I said that I'd get them some cat food at Costco before I went over there, so that's what I'll do.

Until later!

But before I do...

I watched a motion picture on dvd, which I found to be one of the better Stephen King adaptations - THE MIST.

When I was working on TNT's THE MISTS OF AVALON, it was so hard to cut promos because it wasn't finished, and half of the big shots with a lot of production value had burned in: VFX-Add mist.

Had a greast day today,.  I went to some seminar, took a double decker bus tour, went to a little seminar, went to Casa Loma, went to a little seminar, went to the Royal Ontario Museum, went to the cocktail party and went to see ROCK OF AGES.   I really didn't expect to like Rock of Ages but was talked into going.  I loved it!   It's all the songs from my college days and I thought it was very funny.

Not going to try to go to Niagra Falls.  There's just too much here in Toronto I want to see.  It's quite an interesting city.  I cracked up today when I saw an apartment complex that was on HGTV Property Virgins

My roommate had something come up in LA and decided not to come. I'm kind of glad. It's nice to just spread out and relax.
