Well, you've read the notes, the notes were rich, and now it is time for you to post until the rich cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BUMPTIOUS!
-
Oy...what a day. Though I'm glad I was there.
And honestly I'm surprised you didn't already have notes titled "If I Were A Rich Man."
But hey - today was a day for it.
-
I just wish Ben Hur had stuck around so we could have heard him. Although with no sheet music and no headshot/resume, who knows what we would have gotten from him.
-
It sounds like some of the real live auditions rival the audition segment in the film!!!! :)
-
No "scales" thus far though...
-
Although some of today's auditions rivaled that absurdity...
-
As I mentioned elsewhere, I will never be able to hear "If I Were A Rich Man" or "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" the same ever again.
-
And "Miss Byrd" was an ever-popular choice. As well as "Whatever Lola Wants."
Being on this side of the casting table is quite an eye-opener.
-
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY
TO DR THE VIXTER!!!!!!

It's taught me that you should bring in a sax and a finger piano to get noticed. That's what it is all about.
-
Being on this side of the casting table is quite an eye-opener.
I'm sure that is true. :P
-
That's what it is all about.
Besides the Hokey Pokey, you mean? :)
-
Happy happy happy birthday to dear Vixter!!!!! Much love from Fred, Skip, Toby and Dylan
-
Yes!!!
A very big birthday wish to the Vixter
-
And I am back in Florida and have three days to catch up on
-

BELATED BIRTHDAY WISHES TO
JENNIFER

From Sunday #2
Quote from: Kerry on April 26, 2009, 03:12:56 PM
I was listening to the Liz Callaway Frank Loesser album again. It is so lovely, but I wish the tempos were just atad faster on some songs.
If the number in question is "My Heart Is So Full Of You," then, too bad, you're wrong. Wink
I have said this so many times but this and Joey Joey are my favorite tracks from the Liz Callaway album
Especially the instrumental break that starts at the music break at about 4:00 minute and every that goes on from there, Especially the use of the piano. I never get tired of listening to it
-
From Sunday #3
BK:
You and Cason have to stop going to those restaurants where the waiters ogle him. They are probably thinking
a) He is on the "job"
or
b) There is a "daddy"/son thing going on there. ;D
Cason is probably safer going to Denny's of IHOP :D
-
Caught up on Sunday's postings.
Now I have to go to work.
I will try to get the rest of the postings for Monday and Tuesday later tonight.
Have a great day everyone.
-
Happy Birthday to THE VIXTER!
-
Thoughts vibes sympathy and hugs to DR TCB on losing his Angel.
-
Now she is living up to her name.
-
Interesting audition stories in the notes.....yes DR CASON it is entirely different on that side of the table. What surely seems like a good idea in front of the mirror at home - doesn't turn out to be so good....in front of the staff. I look forward to more interesting stories today.
Sorry you didn't hear "Scales" yet.....as you say, the potential is there today.
And as for not showing up......yes, what's up with that?
-
My question for ASK BK day for MR BK and everyone:
What important event - family or otherwise - have you had to miss because of a performance obligation?
-
And the word of the day is: BUMPTIOUS!
And The Song Of The Day Is: SHOW ME
-
Good morning, all! In another hour I am off to the Met for the dress rehearsal of Rossini's LA CENERENTOLA. I hope it's good, because if it ain't funny, this version of Cinderella is tedious to endure.
I have little else to report; I just ordered HOUSE OF FLOWERS frm the Kritzerland site, paid my eBay invoices, and I have a bit of work to accomplish before I walk down to Lincoln Center.
DRvixmom, speaking of Shakespeare, whose death anniversary we all missed last week, I do believe the vixter and you would enjoy this musical based on A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM:
-
!!!!!!!! Happy Happy Happy Birthday to Our DR the vixter !!!!!!!!

Wednesday morning greetings! It's a dreary day here in SW Ohio, perfect for staying home and continuing the big furniture switcheroo that we started on Monday.
-
Happiest of birthdays to The Vixter!!!

Happy Happy Birthday to our very own Miss Vixter!

Wednesday morning greetings! It's a dreary day here in SW Ohio, perfect for staying home and continuing the big furniture switcheroo that we started on Monday.
Beautiful sunny day here!
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And it's a nice, cool(er) morning here in NYC.
-
!!!!!!!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR THE VIXTER!!!!!!!!
-
To quote The Prodcuers...
"Auditions? Aaahh.. Auditions."
-
*And someday I would still like to mount a small camera right above the piano's music rack, sort of like an audition-cam, but it would only be aimed at my face.. and my reactions.. and my "reactions". ;)
-
Good morning everyone.
Casting vibes for The First Nudie Musical.
-
What day does the postage change ? to 44 cents ? Mailing all by bills in the next few days and forgot.
-
Off to work, and then a show on Fairfax, might just have to stop at Canters.
Till tonight. ;D

Time for a walk to the Met. I've paid my bills, ordered what I need, and I even have a date to the concert at the Library of Congress on May 5. So far, it's a great day!
-
What day does the postage change ? to 44 cents ? Mailing all by bills in the next few days and forgot.
May 11.
-
Good morning!
Sunny but more overcast today and thankfully a little cooler, too, with highs in the high 70s instead of the 80s as it had been for the last week. It's a very pleaswant morning thus far.
-
Thanks, once again, to all of you wonderful friends who took the time and interest to offer your expressions of sympathy and love (and virtual hugs) over the loss of my beloved, Angel. I can't begin to explain how much it means to me. Knowing in your head that this day will eventually arrive still never manages to prepare your heart for the grief that you feel.
Hearing from all of you is such a comfort. My life is much fuller and richer because of the family that I have here at HHW. Thank you, BK, for offering us this place to share our similarities and our differences. On behalf of Nicky and myself (and Angel), thank you all.
-
Happy Birthday to the Vixter!!!
-
On TV Tonight!™
CBS - comedies, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI: NY
NBC - LAW & ORDER
ABC - comedies, LOST (100th episode), THE UNUSUALS
FOX - LIE TO ME, AMERICAN IDOL results
CW - AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL
-
Looks like my work project today will indeed be John Huston's WISE BLOOD, the next Criterion release. BRIDE WARS on Blu-ray was shipped yesterday (the day it streeted) and isn't scheduled to get here until tomorrow at the earliest. That the ETA for the other Fox Blu-rays I'm to be getting.
Once they arrive, it'll be full speed ahead on getting them all done since they're all past due date.
-
Every time I attend an audition around here, I expect (and am almost never wrong) to hear "On My Own." I have heard that LES MIZ song so much it just makes me burst into laughter within the first few notes. "All That Jazz" gets used by a lot of ladies, too.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DR THE VIXTER!

Didn't BK write an audition song for one of the young women here at one time?

Does anyone know where I left my camera?

When you lose things, they usually turn up in the dishwasher.
-
Happy birthday, Vixter! I'm drinking a Cherry Coke to celebrate.
-
Why isn't the Vixter's birthday on the calendar??? In any case, a big, fat haineshisway.com birthday cheer for the Vixter - at SIXTEEN. As Mr. Pogue would say, "Be afraid, be very afraid." :)
-
I missed my grandmother's funeral because of a performance at LACC in The Man Who Came To Dinner. If you've read the Kritzer books you probably know that I would have missed the funeral even if I hadn't had a performance. Actually, it may have been my grandfather now that I think of it - in fact, it had to be because my grandmother outlived my mother by a year, I think - who remembers anymore.
-
Thanks DR Michael S.
-
Happy Sweet Sixteen to the Vixter! Hope you have a great day and great night!!!!!!
-
We finally watched NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN last night. Wow! My Ask BK/DR question: what did you make of the ending?
-
Happy Birthday to the Vixter.
-
Listening to INSIDE DAISY CLOVER. One of the cues has a snippet that sounds exactly like the Theme to MCHALE'S NAVY. I kid you not.
-
DS Betsy thought I was playing Cirque du Soleil music when IDC started this morning. The scary thing is, I can hear that, too. ;)
-
I had my first vocal run through with PRODUCERS cast members last night--Roger and Carmen. We kept it quite gay (so to speak) and had a gay old time. But straight (in my instance). ;)
-
A fine and happy birthday to The Vixter!! Have a great day!!!

My question for BK:
Would you ever consider producing and directing another film, one of your own creation?
And if so, would you ever remake or create a sequel to one of your previous films?
-
Happy Birthday to the Vixter -
A note to the Vixter - take everything they give you, because tomorrow, it's back to normal :)

Guess I'll head downstairs now and check the mail before thinking about what I'm going to prepare for lunch.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY

DITTO!! AND ...
Many, many, many more!!
-
And honestly I'm surprised you didn't already have notes titled "If I Were A Rich Man."
DITTO!
And honestly, when would the opportunity to use "A Sax and A Finger Piano" for the notes' title present itself again ...
-
... although, bk might coin a new phrase for HHW usage: Dino at the Finger Piano
-
My question for BK:
Would you ever consider producing and directing another film, one of your own creation?
And if so, would you ever remake or create a sequel to one of your previous films?
At one time, we were going to do a sequel to Nudie, but it was the early 80s and, as you know, attitudes towards sex and humor sadly changed in ways no one could ever have imagined. However, several things I was planning on doing in the sequel, including one huge production number, have ended up in the stage version.
And of course I would direct another film, and was planning to back in 2002 with the Meltz and Ernest story, until the flaky producers flaked. Happy to say they seem to have disappeared off the face of the Earth (they were also supposed to bring Nudie to B'way back in that same year).

One of my many excuses for being so E and T as of late is I'm busy working on a new play for our local community theatre. I absolutely love this play and recommend it to my fellow HHW community theatre members as a choice for a future season. Really, check it out:
37 Postcards by Michael McKeever (through the Barbara Hogenson Agency in NYC)
It's filled with the most eccentric, wacky, charming, funny, and endearing characters. Lots of laugh out loud moments, but lots of moving, poignant moments too -- it's about the way a family deals with the loss of a loved one.
A great comedy with lots of heart ... or is it a great drama with lots of laughs? Whatever, it is absolutely wonderful (especially in the hands of our director and cast).
-
DR TCB, it never stops hurting, it just gets easier. My heart goes out to you today.
DR Druxy, you have been very quiet & I worry about you and your DD Cody.

Well, enough of my mini-frenzy. Gotta scram. Lots to do today.
Ciao!

An unexpected development in our big household switcheroo - I made room in a high-up kitchen cupboard for our good china, which will facilitate more frequent use of those dishes.

To "the vixter":
-
Our Town (the bacon play) was on TDF for a fleeting second but by the time I got to it all the tickets had been taken. They hadn't refreshed the board. It's gone now. I will just have to go to the Theatre and see if I can get a ticket.

This morning I was given my brand spanking new PC at work. I haven't really given it too much of a spin yet but I will say this for it: it is amazingly quiet. Not a peep or a wrrrrrrr. The monitor makes more noise! Fro that, I am very happy.
What's been a little frustrating is setting up all my old stuff. I've been trying to get my iTunes back. I've had to import from two different folders and I kept getting errors when it tried to import the one that contained videos. I worked around that by pulling out the video folder--hopefully I'll get that all in later. My next concern is what will happen when I attach my iPod and it starts to sync. I expect unpleasantness.

I guess no one stayed for the ending of NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN.
-
I just mentioned "If I Were a Rich Man" in my review of THE ADVENTURE OF ENGLISH, wherein I lauded the correct use of the subjunctive.
Lauding the Correct Use of the Subjunctive is my new jazz big band piece.
-
I didn't see the movie (No Country for Old Men). I saw the previews and knew I wouldn't like it, but then my taste is different than about 99.99% of the entire world so don't go by me.
-
FWIW, Josh Brolin gives a terrific performance in "No Country for Old Men". Javier Bardem isn't shabby, either.
-
Ben, I didn't think I would like it either, which is why I waited so long to finally watch it. I loved it, though--reminded me, tonally at least, of the Coens' BLOOD SIMPLE. The ending just seemed to come out of left field, though, and left me with a bunch o' questions.
-
Back from USC - very easy to get there and pick up tapes.
-
A Very Happy Birthday to Our Very Own DR The Vixter!! ;D
-
I had a fantastic time at the opera! My date today was Tiger Lily, Sondra Lee herself, who is a wonderful kind lady who will have a memoir published in the fall titled I SLEPT WITH EVERYONE. I walked her home after the rehearsal - she lives 5 blocks south of me - and we ran into Donald Sadler on the way. It was nice ro see him again. When I first met him around 1972, I was working box office at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, and Donald came to a performance with the original Mazeppa, Miss Faith Dane. He introduced her to me after the performance. Nice man.
As to the opera, it was very very funny and the mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca is amazing.

DR ELMORE you are certainly rubbing elbows Broadway history today!
-
MR BK - I just learned from my friend Keith Dunn that he worked the box office at the York Theatre when BRAIN FROM PLANET X was playing there.
He is a terrific singer and dancer and very funny comic actor - if you are looking for anyone in New York, you might want to see him. i thought you were going to NYC for something..... in May.....but I forget why.....
DR JOSE - he might like the food tour as well.
-
Back from the bank, where I had my loose change converted into my Vera-Bradley-outlet-sale-seed-money. Now I won't start feeling guilty until I've spent more than $46 ;)

I will add it to my queue! Thanks!

I decorate the front steps with balloons but I guess I didn't tie them tight enough - two of them flew away
Oh well there are still four left
-
The Vixter has not arrived home yet fromschool I guess the rehearsals for the Shakespeare festival are running late.
-
That Shakespeare fella does go on and on, that's fer shure. And when you see one of his shows, you can't spit without hitting a king or a prince.
-
Oh, if any DR happens to have one of those paperback copies of the script from MAN OF LA MANCHA that you would like to donate to PCPH, it would be most appreciated. It is from TAMS-WITMARK and I would like as many people as possible to have a book and not sides.
I have been buying a few here and there and have four, but would like six or seven more. Check your libraries! Thanks.
-
Warmed up quickly early in the afternoon. I think we may have crept into the 80s. It certainly feels warmer than 70s to me.

I guess no one stayed for the ending of NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN.
I thought you were asking bk. Obviously I've seen it; I've reviewed it twice on Blu-ray.

I have one, and in fact I used it myself when I played The Duke/Dr. Carasco in a local production of MAN OF LA MANCHA. However, I'd like to hold onto it. Sorry, DR JRand.
-
I watched last night's RESCUE ME while I ate lunch this afternoon. Good episode with some really funny bits.
-
I had time, so I rewatched some of the performances from last night's IDOL again. Still thought Kris was overpraised and that Matt will go home tonight.
-
Next, I watched WISE BLOOD. What a peculiar, odd little provincial comedy-drama. The drama which happens in the last third is really a bit of a jolt compared to all the quirky comedy that has gone before it. Still, a small, funny little gem.
-
I spent the rest of the afternoon watching the bonus features. There were interviews with star Brad Dourif and each of the Fitzgerald brothers who wrote the movie.
There's an audio recording of Flannery O'Connor reading one of her short stories.
I got about halfway through a Bill Moyers program on director John Huston. I will need to finish it when I go back downstairs.
-
Page Five Dance!!!
-
That Shakespeare fella does go on and on, that's fer shure. And when you see one of his shows, you can't spit without hitting a king or a prince.

ASK BK:
Question 1: Bruce, I understand your mother was quite a different person than the mother characterized in the Kritzerland books. BUT, did your mother at least love to use common sayings and adages like the character in the book did? I just thought the way you would string several sayings together was hilarious. I'm afraid I would be disappointed to find your mother didn't use sayings at all.
Question 2: What's a box-folding question? I made the mistake (about a week ago?) of asking this question on a non-ask BK day and was severely punished by...not being answered.
-
I need to start writing now, so I'm hopping off-line and then will head downstairs for more viewing.
WBBL.
-
I think the box folding question is one of those visual questions. You have a diagram that, when folded, will resemble a box. You have to look at the diagram and then decide which box it will look like when after it's folded.
I was HORRIFICALLY BAD at those kind of questions and I would fail miserably. I am not visually adept in that way and I have no concept of how to fold something in my mind so that it will resemble the diagram.

This may not be news here in this forum, but Warner Brothers Home Video is extending an olive branch to folks who bought Warner product when HD-DVD was still in the marketplace.
The company is offering to take your HD-DVDs (on WB or associated label) and trade them out for the Blu-ray versions for $4.95 per disc.
You can trade up to 25 titles (multiple-disc sets count as one title, although you pay $4.95 per disc in a set).
Details can be found at Red2Blu.com.
I mailed off 23 HD-DVD inserts today. I should have my Blu-ray replacement titles in 4 to 6 weeks.

The World Health Organization has raised its pandemic alert for swine flu to the second highest level, meaning that it believes a global outbreak of the disease is imminent.
WHO says the phase 5 alert means there is sustained human to human spread in at least two countries. It also signals that efforts to produce a vaccine will be ramped up.

Listening to INSIDE DAISY CLOVER. One of the cues has a snippet that sounds exactly like the Theme to MCHALE'S NAVY. I kid you not.
Which cue has that snippet?
I was listening from the other room, so will have to do a more thorough report later--I'm pretty sure it was an instrumental interlude between some sung stuff about a wild, wacky world. Does that make sense? But it may not be that tune--just what's coming to mind right now.

I've listened to disc 1 many, many, MANY times, and I'm having a hard time recalling anything I've heard as bearing a similarity to the "'McHale's Navy' Theme"
-
Well, listen circa 4:43 on track 21. It's in 3/4, but it's McHale's Navy.
-
Good Evening!
I had another wonderful wandering the streets of New York City. And, yes, of course, there was some food of course. Oh, and a haircut. A very good haircut. -Which I didn't have to wait for: I walked into Chelsea Barber. Max was sitting in a chair. He motioned for me to take a seat, and he started cutting. 20 minutes later, I was out of there with a fresh 'do, able to feel the spring breeze on my scalp again. Aaaaahhhh. :)
-
OK... And now that I'm home, I have to take care of the unpacking and repacking of my luggage.
Laters...
-
to feel the spring breeze on my scalp again. Aaaaahhhh. :)
The boy from Ipanema! :)
-
Well, listen circa 4:43 on track 21. It's in 3/4, but it's McHale's Navy.
If you mean the song "The Circus is a Wacky World", the tempo is certainly in the ballpark, but the syncopation is totally different, as is the melody line. IMO, of course. I can understand someone being reminded of the theme to "McHale's Navy" if one remembers that one. I found it on youtube and refreshed my memory.
-
Oh, Ron, Ron, you splendid, stubborn, adorable fool. It's the snippet at 4:30 (I amend it now that I have it in front of me). I will gladly notate it for you as well as the opening phrase of McHale's Navy. They're more or less exactly the same.
-
Oink! Swine flu? Snort, oink, oink-oink! Snort, oink, snort-snort, oink-oink, bad rap! Oink!

HAPPIEST OF NATAL DAYS, DR VIXTER!

From Yesterday
DR TCB
So sorry to hear about your beautiful cat.
I am sure Angel is an angel
-
I also did not think that I would like NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, but, it's quickly become one of my favorite films. One of things I admire about it is its ambiguous ending.
-
I've been thinking about seeing WERE THE WORLD MINE, now that DR Elmore has strongly endorsed it, I'll definitely check it out.
-
He likes the free, fresh breeze on his scalp
-
Wasn't "I Sleep with Everyone" the Forbidden Bway lyric for "Love Changes everything"
-
Oy, I have spent most of today doing the MIDI (soon to be MP3) of the complete Bialystock number that closes Act I. It featured virtually no snippets that sound like McHale's Navy. ;)
-
DR JMK - You may have answered this already, and I may have missed said answer, but just in case...
Did your rental package from MTI include the sounds effects - bomb drops, grenades, gun shots... "Mel Brooks"?
-
I've studied at the feet of the snark-master. :)
Now that I am home and have cued up said snippet at 4:30 into cue 21...I guess if one were inclined to "hear" the opening 2 or 3 seconds of the "McHale's Navy" theme, then a case could be made.
:P :P I'll hate you forever now that you've forced the "McHale's Navy" theme into my noggin!!! :P :P

Good Evening, once again.
Well, I've unpacked my two large pieces of luggage and my one carry-on, as well as the four boxes of books, papers and other assorted items that I shipped back to myself. I seem to have accounted for everything except for my light jacket (sweat suit). Hmm... I'm washing some shirts right now while watching "Lost" (live), and I shall commence packing for Chicago after said episode of "Lost". -Although, since my train does not leave until 4:00 tomorrow afternoon, I could pack in the morning should I so desire.
And that's that for this post.

I meant for the bridge. ;)

Climbs any alp?
-
Am looking forward to tonight's "Lost."
I've enjoyed many of this week's shows, especially the amazing season finales to "Chuck" and "Heroes" (although I'm a bit unnerved/unsettled about one development in the latter).
Loved the laugh-out-loud scene in the school nurse's office with Bridgit!

Climbs any alp?
That laddy's a tramp!

LOST's 100th episode. . . .wowza!

I played three - count them three - parts in the rehearsal tonight, so I didn't have a chance to take any photos!
-
Why is MR BK going to New York? i forget.....
DR MATTH i completely understand that you want to keep your copy of MAN OF LA MANCHA.....I was requesting the odd this or that one that someone may have picked up along the way....sort of like ex-es.
thanks for the link, DR ELMORE....but I am cheap enough to be looking at less than $4 a copy.

THE BIRDS is on.
-
Back from casting day two - with a still surprising amount of no-shows. The ignorance of these people is mind-boggling. We saw some good people today, including very strong candidates for Eunice and Juanita (especially good - really cute and perky and a real Cuban). I'd say we have seen no ensemble males that I'd be willing to cast, but I think we're okay for females.
-
Had dinner at Hugo's.
-
Amy - box-folding explanation was given by Ben on page five. As to my mother, no, she was not different from the mother in the book - she was exactly the mother in the book - she did do the sayings, but not to the extent that I took them to - it was just really fun to embellish that.
-
ASK BK
Your song "Chinese Food In Bed" was it written for a show? If not is it autobiographical and can you divulge who it is about?
-
Not written for a show and not autobiographical - it just sort of was a happy accident one night, when I was noodling at the piano and came up with the opening vamp.
-
I finished watching the Bill Moyers' interview with John Huston (some of it on the set of ANNIE). What a full life that man led, not all of it pleasant.
-
Then I took out my next Warner Archive selection: PAYMENT ON DEMAND. I've always thought this was one of Bette Davis' strongest, more mature films from the middle part of her career, and it often gets ignored.
It certainly looks the best of the Archive titles from that period of movie history that I've watched. A few white specks and one audio dropout. Otherwise, just fine.
-
Next I watched another NCIS episode from the season 2 set. A marine killed while videotaping an early morning sunrise. I did not guess the murderer though when his alibi was given I did hesitate a minute. I should have stuck to that gut instinct.
-
Next, I surfed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing of interest, but the boys are on tomorrow.
-
Oh, if any DR happens to have one of those paperback copies of the script from MAN OF LA MANCHA that you would like to donate to PCPH, it would be most appreciated. It is from TAMS-WITMARK and I would like as many people as possible to have a book and not sides.
I have been buying a few here and there and have four, but would like six or seven more. Check your libraries! Thanks.
DR Jrand, ya wouldn't happen know anyone with a complete run of THEATRE ARTS magazine or at least issues from the 60s? I know they printed the libretto in one issue--I remember reading it in my high school library. Unfortunately, I don't remember which particular issue it was...

The President's press conference took off BETTER OFF TED tonight, so I watched some other items on my DVR that are being stored there until I can transfer them over to DVD-R. That took up about 30 minutes. When I went to the list, the cable box snapped to what it was recording then - IDOL results and I got to see the last person placed into the bottom three.
I had a feeling this was going to happen. All day I had this gut feeling that Adam was going to be in the bottom three. Although I hoped he wouldn't be eliminated, I did hope that it would serve as a wake-up call to his fans that they have to vote if they want him to get to the finals. No one can ever assume anyone is a shoo-in.
I was sweating bullets a bit when Adam and Matt were the bottom two. Could the best singer get kicked out in 5th place? As it turned out, the right person was sent packing. Next week is rock and roll week. It'll be interesting to see what songs the final four select. I assume they'll each do two songs.
-
LOST - another amazing, mind-boggling episode. And that ending! Simply astonishing!
-
I ended my evening watching tonight's LAW & ORDER. A hate crimes case against illegal aliens. Interesting story but a very predictable conclusion.

Instead of a cake, the Vixter requested (and then made and decorated) cupcakes
Here she is after blowing out all the candles

Wow! She has certainly grown up! Vixmom, I remember you posting this picture of her at age 8 (I tend to save a lot of the pictures that are posted on HHW :)):
-
I'm heading downstairs to bed now.
Good night!
-
I liked tonight's "Lost" too. However, for some reason, none of the surprises were that surprising to me. Who knows? Maybe I've already seen it. ;)
-
That's not the Vixter! That can't be the Vixter! She's blossomed from a very cute child into a very beautiful young gal.
-
Was trying to watch a motion picture but am too antsy.
-
DR vixter - Que Bellissima!!
-
bk - Are you using a casting agent? Were any of your no-shows with a talent agency? If so, did you - or Cason - make the "Are they on there way?" call?
-
What a lovely photo, DR ViXMOM! And the cake is terrific!!
DR DtM - thanks for the Theatre Arts idea.....it would certainly be much less PHOTO COPYING were i to find one.
-
I may stay up to watch THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO....
-
I also think of the Vixter as a little girl. But then, I think of DRs Sandra and Megan as little girls, too.
-
Happy Birthday Vixter.
-
Thanks Jose, May llth.
Thanks MattH, Criminal Minds, really good again.
-
Had dinner at Canter's. The place never changes, although as I get older it looks tackier than I remember. The food is still good.
Also heard another wonderful set of young theatre work's stories. My friend's production company helps kids in highschool write stories for plays, then professional actors perform them on stage.
Tonight was at the Greenway Theatre on Fairfax. First time I was there(for something else), I believe BK and Cindy Williams were both in attendance.

Happy 500th Post, Sam!! :D

You're now a HERO Member!!

I picked up No Country for Old Men at Target yesterday for $5. I guess I should watch it this weekend.
-
Hi George
500 posts, and 5 stars.
The time goes quickly, when we are having fun.
-
Goodnight everyone.
2 days till the weekend.

I need to get to sleep. Tomorrow (I JUST realized) is the last day to pay my property taxes!! I need to get to the court house early. It's also the last day for me to order (renew) my season ticket to the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle...if I want. I'm still deciding. I do want to see the new musical version of Catch Me If You Can. We'll see.
