DR Ron Pulliam - I meant to mention this yesterday since a friend's mother had the same questions...

TV signals in early 2009 will be going "Digital".  They will not be going "High-Def".  Although, "High-Def" transmissions are transmitted digitally. There will still be some non-High-Def programming being transmitted, but instead of being transmitted analogically (?), it will be transmitted digitally.  Most cable systems utilize cable boxes that can receive and "translate" digital signals. However, for any one out there who does not have cable - or a cable box - they will need to procure a converter box in order for them to view the digital transmissions (on their non-High-Def, or otherwise, television sets.

Well, I got the official call about a half hour ago that what would've been today's final performance of Reefer Madness! The Musical! has been cancelled...officially. :( They're going to see if we can do a one-night quasi-concert performance at another space after Christmas or the new year and get some people who couldn't see the show this weekend.  Wish us luck!

GOOD LUCK!

I am so sorry, George.

Thanks, Jane.

The newlyweds are in their room, they got the nice guest room.  Bryan is cooking up a storm & talking to Kate.  He has a tart in the oven & is making pizza dough.  Once he is done we will role out the sugar cookie dough I made & bake Chanukah cookies.

I think I had better clean the kitchen now the dishwasher is done.

*Of course, since there are some DRs who have not seen a certain Holiday Christmas Classic movie, the lamp in the picture/pizza place may not be that funny. ;)

BTW: Did you notice that Wayne Rogers co-wrote THE ASTRO ZOMBIES?

I did not notice that. LOL! I am sure he is proud.

Astro Zombies scared the living daylights out of me when I saw it as a kid. One Ted Mikels film I really do enjoy is THE CORPSE GRINDERS. That one I just get a kick out of.

So... Has any other DR clicked on today's Google graphic?  I've been reading various reports of what's supposed to happen after you click on it.  What say you?

I can't beleive this.  It is still snowing here.  I hope DS Jed made it back from the store safely.

He did indeed, bless him.  He was going to be up at the Seahawks game today, but the guy with the tickets couldn't make it across the pass.  So much the better, I say..it's too cold for football!

I don't know if BK has ever asked this, but here's a question that should bring back memories:

What is the first professional stage play (or musical) you ever saw?

I think my Mom took me to a production of The King & I when we lived in Connecticut.  It looked professional to me.  However, I don't recall the theatre being that big, so I don't think it was a tour, just a high-end local production.  I think.

Oh... And there was one of the many tours of Fiddler on the Roof with Topol at the National Theatre in DC.  Or one of the other stalwart Tevye's.

The one production that really sticks in my mind is Ibsen's Ghosts at the Kennedy Center back in 1981 (1982?). It starred Liv Ullman and John Neville Andrews. Kevin Spacey played the son... "The sun.. The sun..."

I just finished WALL-E.

It was a cute movie, not as much fun as FINDING NEMO, but way better then THE LION KING. I don't think I would watch it again, though.

DR singdaw - Good to hear that everything worked out this morning at church.  So... Will you still be assuming the conducting duties for the Christmas services later this week?

Of course, you'll probably end up loving the Bollywood rip-off version.

There was a huge sigh of relief yesterday as rail service resumed between Christmasvillagetown and the Nativity Scene.  A light bulb was obtained from the BB Train and Hobby Shop (Lloyd's having shut down sometime during the past year) and installed yesterday evening, allowing residents to commence their holiday travels.

The Bear Family here have been keeping up with the village News and are delighted to know that
holiday travels have commenced.   Thank you for the update DtM. (somehow Yahoo missed this news item)

First professional stage production that I was taken to see was "Kismet".

Well, I've been inspired by Jose to do some baking, but I found my kitchen lacking some critical supplies.  My DS Toby is wanting to nurse 24/7 and he screams bloody murder if I try to leave, so brave DH Jed is heading out to pick up some more molasses, shortening, chocolate chips, and nilla wafers for me.  Such a good guy.

He would be loved more if he posted again!

Okay, the gingerbread dough is chilling in the fridge for the next three hours, and the Chocolate Toffee Crunch bars are cooling on the counter.  Soon I will start the chicken and rice casserole for dinner.  I like baking and cooking on cold days, it's so cozy.

DR DtM - I just trecked down the garden to let DP Colin know about the happenings. He is most pleased to know that trains are running.
