I am going to bite the bullet and watch as much of SNL as I can to see Mr John Hamm....I am not sure that I can stay the course with the show.

You could always just watch the "Best Of" clips that will be posted tomorrow on NBC's website.

I ended my evening with BILLY LIAR, another film I'm not sure I had ever seen all the way through. No wonder John Schlesinger rose so quickly in the ranks of 60s directors. This is HIS tour de force. Courtney's very accomplished, too, but Schlesinger's handling of all the transitions from reality to surrealism is just majestic! I couldn't have been more impressed.

You have to choose the dragonfly species that sit still. Not all of them do.

I didn't know that...your vast knowledge of and ability to photograph wildlife never cease to amaze me :)

Thanks.  As Tom says, we delete hundreds!

I think I posted some missed shots a while back. I thought it was funny.

You should see the bad shots I get of politicians talking.  The eyes closed the funny mouth shapes....or the back of their heads when I clicked a little too late.

The writing is finished for the evening, and I'm feeling kind of tired, so I'm heading down to bed.

Good night!

They are all here a lot. And, I've been a political activist in one way or another for most of my life so I go to see them.

Hello.  thanks all for the vibes -- I spent most of the day curled up on the couch. I received the HBO John Adams series from Blockbuster the other day so I watched the whole thing  - I really enjoyed it

I liked the opening, but I just kept waiting for one more level to the joke.  -And it was a long(!) opening sketch.

And I did dig the "Variety Show". ;)

Ah, you can't ignore them in Iowa even if you want to. Being first in the nation for caucuses and all, they arrive 2 years before an election and practically live here for a year before.  Some states have pro-sports teams.  We have politics and the first in the nation caucuses.

I watched a movie on dvd which I had never seen:  Vincente Minnelli's HOME FROM THE HILL.
George Hamilton could really act as could George Peppard.  Robert Mitchum gave a concise performance, while Eleanor Parker, with a difficult role, teeter-tottered her way through (noticeably, her dialogue was looped in at a later time).
Hard to believe it was a Minnelli film, the subject matter (a familial soap opera of East Texas) is not something I would have expected Minnelli to tackle and only rarely was his fine use of color in evidence.
Even at two hours and thirty minutes, the film swept by.  I checked the timing on the dvd at only one point, and there were only twelve minutes remaining; I was never once bored.

Sounds like a good movie, TD.

I didn't make it to The Secret Lives of Bees today. I fell asleep.

I always get Kritzerland shipments a day or two after other parts of the country get them. :-\
